Violet’s P.O.V. (Continued)

He looked at me with a worried gaze this time, which confused me. I was closer to him than Serena. Although he never showed any interest in family affairs, he always defended me in front of Serena if she went overboard with her criticism or tantrums.
“I think you guys should move back to the mansion, Violet.” He replied and I furrowed my brows.
“I talked to the doctor and what she told me made one thing clear to me: that you need intense care at home too. You need someone always with you, and then there is Natasha. She also needs family care and attention. I don’t know how long Serena will take to leave the hospital, but she will also need someone to be with her. As a family, I think it will be best if we stay together and face everything together.” I pursed my lips into a thin line while listening to his explanation, but deep down in my heart, I know that he was genuinely worried about me.
“But Dad, we need our privacy too.” Dominic protested and I looked at Dad with raised brows, intrigued to hear his scolding.
“What privacy and personal space, huh? Is it more matter than your wife’s life and her well-being?” he asked while glaring at Dominic.
Dominic was about to retort but Dad continued scolding him.
“You heard what the doctor said. She went through hell during her first pregnancy because of you, and her health is still fragile. This is also my grandchild, and I am also looking forward to holding her in my embrace, but if….. if something bad happens…. Do you really think that Violet will not be under life threat?”
My heart almost stopped beating at his last question.
I shouldn’t imagine things, but it seems that my pregnancy has opened new gates for my imagination.
I literally imagined so many worst-case scenarios, like falling from the stairs, getting hurt from the corner of the cupboard, and stumbling because of the foot mat on the bathroom door.
But every scene ended up with me lying on the floor, bleeding heavily and crying for help in a weak voice.
“Dad.” I shuddered hard in fear when Dominic yelled suddenly.
“I am stating the fact, Dom. She needs to stay in bed for more than three months, or maybe during her whole pregnancy. It means that she needs someone beside her all the time. Even if we hire a few helpers and assistants, having a family is better.” Dad still argued with all the rational and right reasons.
“I think Dad is right, Dom.” I suddenly said to Dominic, not knowing why I said it.
He looked at me, surprised by my sudden outburst.
“Dad is right, and I also know my health the best. Moreover, after Mom will be discharged, it will be good for her too.” I reasoned but his expression didn’t change.
“Then, it’s settled. Serena had already set up a room for Natasha before the accident. Now, all I need is to set up a necessary and also need to change the furniture to be kid-friendly.” I couldn’t help but smile when Dad started rambling about the stuff excitedly.
It felt good when someone showed concern and worry for you.
I suddenly felt exhausted and my eyelids started dropping. I took a big yawn and nestled against my pillow. They were still rambling about the things and I really wanted to listen to them.
It was refreshing. These serious-type businessmen barely showed their lighter sides or in other words, their childish sides, but I really wanted to sleep for a while.

Dominic’s P.O.V.

“Take care of your wife first, Dom. Can’t you see that she is trying to stay awake when all she needs right now is a good nap?” Dad suddenly changed the tone and scolded me sarcastically when we were discussing the changes in the mansion.
I immediately looked at Violet and saw her eyes closing.
I immediately stood up from the bed where I was sitting beside her waist and adjusted the pillow under her head so that she could sleep comfortably.
“Press the call button. The drip is almost finished.” Dad instructed me and I immediately looked at the bottle.
I pressed the call button and tucked her inside the sheet properly. She hummed a little while snuggling against the pillow, drifting into a deep sleep.
“Are you still investigating what happened back then?” Dad suddenly asked me in a low voice.
My father doesn’t like to get involved in my life, as far as I remember. He never questioned my decisions and whenever Mom asked him to get involved, he always said one thing.
“Let him learn from his mistakes. This is important for his growth as a responsible man.”
“Yeah. Why did you ask?” I asked him while adjusting the sheet over her chest.
“This Michael Sand. He is way more interested in her life than he should be.” He replied and I furrowed my brow.
We stopped our conversation when the nurse came inside the room after knocking on the door.
She immediately went to the other side to take care of the drip.
We kept quiet while she finished her work. She hung another body, which only made me feel stiffness in my chest.
Violet was always afraid of needles, and it would always be a brutal job of controlling her if she had to go through any medication through injections or a blood test.
Now, she was sleeping peacefully with that needle in her hand.
After the nurse finished her work, she walked out of the room once again after asking us to call her if the bottle finished or Violet complained about pain in her hand.
“So, you were saying something earlier, Dad.” I asked my father calmly while sitting on the bed beside her on the other side of the IV stand.
He took a deep breath while moving his legs to get a comfortable position on the couch.
“Michal Sand. He is Sara’s brother, who has been obsessed with you since middle school and went to great lengths to get Violet out of your life and she didn’t stop manipulating you after Violet was gone; she continued pretending to be Violet's best friend all the time only to satisfy her illusion of being on good terms with you,” He replied to me calmly, but I was now confused by what he was saying.
"What exactly do you want to say, Dad?" I asked him in direct words, holding Violet's hand tightly.
“Sara and Violet were friends from middle school. Which also means that Michael has also known Violet for a very long time, long enough to develop an obsession, right?” he asked and my heart skipped a beat.
"What if everything that happened between you and Violet, and then to Violet after you threw her out of your house, was nothing but a small part of a big plot orchestrated by that man?" his question made me hold my breath for a few seconds.
