Chapter 45 Not Sleeping!
After Karl left, Lilly turned her gaze to Simo. She laughed twice and pleaded, "Simo, can you help..." But before she could finish speaking, her shoulders slumped, and Ethan's head fell onto her neck, almost all his weight on her.
Lilly was pinned down by him and couldn't keep her balance. She took two steps forward, but Simo stopped her, preventing her from falling.
But Ethan's arms still hugged her tightly around the waist.
This man is a terrible drinker!
He not only hits people, but also spouts nonsense, hugs and caresses them, and then faints without even saying hello!
Lilly was... She was so angry her teeth itched, and, clenching the muscles in his stomach, she quietly said, "You can't sleep! How can you leave if you sleep like this!"
Ethan didn't move, as if Lilly were squeezing cotton wool instead of flesh, and even his breathing didn't change. He grazed her collarbone, causing her heart to go numb and the tips of her ears to turn red.
Simo exchanged glances and nodded simultaneously. This asshole was very close to the people on their street. He had made it clear he didn't want to leave. Not only couldn't they drive him away, but they had to cooperate.
Simo approached Lilly, winked at her, and said, " I just got back, and it's hard for us to leave. We've all been drinking, and it's hard for us to drive. And your friend is so drunk he can hardly walk. How about we rent a room and take him there to rest for the night?"
Lilly thought about it and decided it was a good idea, as she wouldn't have to risk taking Ethan home, so she nodded and agreed.
Simo immediately led them to a room upstairs. Simo wanted to help Ethan so Lilly could walk more easily, but they realized they couldn't drag him, and it was difficult to get him to do so, so Lilly had to drag Ethan step by step.
Ethan is tall, and he clings to Lilly like a dog's skin. Lilly can barely move, constantly complaining: "Oh my God, why are you so heavy... Why do you drink if you have such a terrible habit? Damn... He's so heavy... I can't walk anymore, please help me..."
"You won't refuse, don't you have me yet?"
An electric shock instantly ran through her fingers, spreading throughout her body. Lilly was so startled that she quickly pulled her fingers away. She didn't dare look at him at all, but stared at her phone as if she wanted to burn a hole through it.
Ethan paused for a moment, his sharp lips slightly pursed, recalling the taste of her soft fingertips, and continued leaning forward.
"Hey, hey, hey, why are you still here!" Feeling a large black shadow envelop her, she quickly reached out to block it again.
But this time, he stopped when he was just half an inch from her palm, pinched her shoulders, lifted her, and tossed her aside.
Ethan leaned over and picked up the phone she had just pressed to her feet. He glanced at her surprised expression and said sarcastically, "Sexual compensation? Lilly, what are you dreaming about? Do you think I'll be interested in you?"
Lilly now fully understood that she had been deceived. It was only a matter of time. Four years ago, she had been teasing others, and four years later, everything had changed!
She clenched her fists, heaving, and secretly struggled over whether to beat him up or step on him again.
But he turned around and got out of the car. She needed to return with him to the villa for work, so she had to follow him.
As soon as she got into the car, Lilly's phone rang. It was a call from her friend.
"Hello, what's wrong?" Lilly asked.
"I heard he has a provisional exam at two o'clock today," she coughed dryly. "You know, he's very experienced. Just in case, you should think of a way to return."
"Okay, I'll think of one." Lilly hung up, her face worried. She didn't know how to ask Ethan for time off. If she asked for it, the number of days stipulated in the contract would have to be postponed. Moreover, he was very stingy, and the question was whether he would approve it!
Just as she was thinking about this, she suddenly heard him say, "You can take the day off today, and this time it will count toward the number of days stipulated in the contract."
Lilly's eyes suddenly lit up, and she stared intently at him.
He lifted the corner of his lips and continued, "But... you must accompany me to the Liney Family's dinner tonight and perform well in front of the Liney Family."
"The Liney Family?" Lilly's eyes suddenly dimmed. Was she really going to become Jessica's target?
He nodded and said, "Mr. Liney specifically asked to see you. There's a dinner tonight at seven o'clock. You must attend as my companion."
"This, this isn't good..." Lilly muttered.
"What's not good?" Ethan said dispassionately, "It just so happens that the Liney Company still has some unresolved issues related to its withdrawal from Johnson's company. The Liney Company is also preparing for a new phase of cooperation with Johnson's company. I'll give you a chance to personally speak with the Liney Company's CEO. Isn't that good?"
Lilly sweated. This wasn't bad at all, almost too good. However, she hadn't studied finance and was a complete amateur when it came to business matters. What could she possibly be talking about with the CEO?
"No, it's okay, I'm afraid..." Lilly shook her head: "The main reason is that I don't understand these business matters. It's best not to make a fool of myself."
Ethan raised his sharp eyebrows and said coldly, "What are you afraid of? If you don't know, don't you have me?"
Lilly froze for a moment, staring at him behind the wheel.
The man's face was still sharp as a knife, and his expression remained unusual. Only when he mocked someone did his eyes, like a cold pond, turn angry.
