Chapter 39 Do you really love her?
"Of course it's valuable," Jessica said maliciously, watching the tender scene in the restaurant. "I caught your woman with another man behind your back. Do you think that's valuable? Or, Ethan, should you admit that you and that woman were just pretending for me?"
Ethan's heart sank. He knew the "other man" Jessica was talking about was Karl, but he didn't understand what Jessica meant by "pretending."
"Do you think I'd be so bored that I'd deliberately seek out someone to pretend for you?" Ethan's tone was still cold.
Jessica snorted, "If you say that, then your woman cheated on you. Does that matter to you?"
"Yeah, sure, I don't care," Ethan said coldly, playing with the new cell phone he'd asked his right hand to buy for Lilly. "Tell me, how did she cheat?"
"That man... wiped the corners of the girl's mouth, and the girl fed him oysters," Jessica laughed softly, rolling her eyes. "Those two are so affectionate, they always hold hands when they eat."
Jessica had been closely watching the microphone and Ethan's movements during the conversation, but even with her ears pricked, she didn't hear anything she expected, so she quickly added, "Besides, they kissed without any embarrassment, and it was much more passionate than the last time you and that girl kissed at the supermarket."
He remained silent.
"Ethan, can you hear me?" Jessica stuttered. After so many words, he didn't respond, and Jessica suddenly lost her confidence.
After a while, his frighteningly cold voice came over the phone, but only two words: "Address."
After Jessica gave the address, the connection was immediately cut off. She stared at Lilly, who was smiling sweetly in the restaurant.
If Lilly and Ethan's relationship were real, she would strangle them.
She knew Ethan's character better than most and knew the consequences of angering her. If Lilly really was his woman, then this time Lilly, who had had turbulent relationships with other men, would definitely be defeated.
Twenty minutes later, Lilly and Karl left the Restaurant.
Karl went down to the underground parking lot to pick up his car, while Lilly, leaning against a small stone wall by the door, waited, fiddling with her new cell phone.
"Ethan, you really love her. You got here so quickly." Jessica was waiting by the door. Seeing Ethan getting out of the car, she immediately approached and said sourly.
Ethan didn't even glance at her and asked coldly, "Where is she?"
Although Jessica wasn't satisfied with his concern for the girl, she thought it would be nice to create some distance between them and give them some privacy, so she pointed to Lilly, who was leaning against the corner of the door, waiting for Karl to pick up the car.
Ethan immediately stepped forward and approached Lilly.
Jessica, deliberately exaggerating, shouts after him: "She wipes her lips, holds his hand, and kisses him. She's really openly talking about her infidelity. Ethan, you're a real cuckold. This whore..."
Before she could finish her sentence, he suddenly turned around, his eyes sinister and frightening, and he glared at her: "Jessica, I advise you to keep your mouth shut."
No matter what kind of relationship he and Lilly have, he won't tolerate anyone slandering Lilly in front of him.
A large question mark suddenly appeared in Lilly's mind, and she inexplicably asked, "What kiss? Who told you Karl and I kissed!"
"Really?" Ethan narrowed his eyes coldly, and an invisible sense of pressure laced his voice.
Lilly impatiently waved Ethan's hand away and replied, "No."
She would never admit to something that was a lie to begin with!
"Then..." Ethan took the initiative and asked again, "Holding hands?"
Lilly was speechless. What a tangled mess of questions. She immediately continued, dissatisfied, "No!"
Ethan held her hand, refusing to let her escape. His rough fingertips caressed the smooth skin of her hand, and he continued asking, "Did I wipe your mouth?"
This time, Lilly reacted. Probably because Jessica, that boring woman, had run to Ethan to complain. But what was this man pretending to be? Why was he acting like a husband testing his wife?
He says he's pretending for Jessica's sake, but what happened at the supermarket last time was a real act! That's not how they really have a relationship!
Lilly's heart was broken, and her tone became irritated. She shook his hand tightly: "What does it matter to you?"
But she still couldn't shake him off. As soon as he set his sights on something, he'd be flayed, not to mention run away.
The problem is... how did she manage to attract his attention?
What? She didn't deliberately attract him. It's not like in school, when he was constantly exposed and mocked those students who couldn't stand his strictness and wanted to play a prank on them.
Hell with them.
Lilly felt like turning around and crying, pressed against the wall. She had truly been wronged!
Hearing her answer, he realized it was true. His eyes instantly darkened. He pinched her chin again, raised his hand, and asked dangerously, "Which corner of your mouth did he wipe?"
"I told you, it's none of your business!" Lilly tugged his hand with her other hand, but the man still held her wrist tightly.
Lilly was so angry she wanted to bite him a hundred times: "What the hell are you doing!"
The girl before him had a cute face, swollen like a little bun, which made him laugh. He looked away, suppressed the corners of his lips, pulled her close, and said in a seductive, quiet voice, "If you answer, I'll let you go."
"You... You're boring, shameless, and foolish!" Lilly angrily imagined stepping on his foot once they reached the villa, but he wasn't one to fall in the same place twice. With a single movement of her hip, he grabbed her slender legs.
"Do you think the same trick will work on me?" He asked mockingly, gently hugging Lilly. "If you don't answer, wait."
Lilly, determined not to give in to anger, had no choice but to formally point to the right corner of her mouth.
As soon as she pointed, a black shadow appeared on her face, and she suddenly felt pain. Ethan had bitten her.
Lilly immediately became angry, her voice shaking with anger as she cursed, "You, you, you... You lied to me!" Didn't he say he'd let her go if she answered?
His gaze dimmed, and he suddenly reached out to pinch her shoulder, coldly reminding her, "Miss Lilly, I'm telling you clearly now that we must pretend to be in a relationship in front of Jessica. This condition has been added to the supplementary agreement. When you see Jessica in the future, you must be smarter and better at speaking. Don't say anything stupid about us not being in a relationship, and don't do anything to make me, your boyfriend, wear the green hat."
