Chapter 37 She Will Pay for This for the Rest of Her Life
Ethan looked indifferently at the departing girl. From below, he heard the conversation between her and the boy, followed by the sound of them leaving the villa together.
He returned to the window, through which the scent of Lilly still wafted, and saw the girl she had just held in her arms getting into another man's car.
The black Hummer gradually pulled away from the villa and disappeared from view...
Narrowing his eyes slightly, he suddenly raised his hand to look at the computer and documents on his desk.
She was right. Ethan, she knew, had died when she left.
The current Ethan Romano would never give her another chance to escape him.
Goodbye?
Dreams!
The heart Lilly stole openly, he now wants to repay her with his whole life!
In the Hummer, Lilly felt an inexplicable chill down her spine and shuddered.
"What's wrong, dear?" Karl watched her movements sideways. Seeing her suddenly tremble, he asked worriedly.
Lilly smiled brightly: "Everything's fine."
"Well..." Karl paused for a moment and then said hesitantly, "By the way, I heard about you and Ethan, but are you really just colleagues?"
When Karl asked about her relationship with Ethan, Lilly's eyes sparkled. She hadn't yet told Karl and her family about the agreement she'd signed with asshole, and thought she could survive the remaining four months.
"Really?" Lilly nodded, fiddling with the new phone Karl had bought her. "Why are you asking?"
"Nothing, I just think he's looking at you a little wrong." Karl seemed lost in thought, tapping his fingers lightly on the steering wheel.
Lilly cleared her throat. "What happened?"
"Hey, I can't explain this feeling," Karl reached out and stroked her hair. "When I saw him talking to you this morning, his behavior didn't seem very good. I'm a little worried about you, dear."
He thought for a moment and added, "I can't let you suffer."
Lilly's heart sank, and she couldn't help but remember how Ethan had kissed her so many times in a row that she'd almost gotten fired. She gave a dry, guilty laugh: "How could I suffer any losses? After all, he's the CEO of an international group, and his image is very important."
"But…" Karl wanted to say something, but Lilly quickly interrupted him.
"I'm so hungry! I'm almost exhausted from talking about work all day. Where are we going now? The Bar is closed, let's eat!" Lilly waved her hands and shouted.
"Of course," Karl cast aside his doubts and looked at her new phone. "By the way, dear, didn't you tell your club we won't be practicing singing? Let's play a little?"
"Oh, right!" Lilly clapped her hands. She almost forgot that she had already arranged with Karl to change the scene and sing at the bar to get the rhythm of the new song they were going to rehearse at the club.
Loading her address book from the cloud drive, Lilly opened the number marked. Before she could press the button, a message flashed on the screen.
"Oh my god, you have magical powers!" Lilly replied, smiling flatteringly, adding, "I was just about to call you."
"You deserve to be an owner. You're always one step ahead!"
"Come on, stop talking so beautifully." Quinn's booming laughter came over the phone. Strangely, he has such a soft name, but he's a drummer with a bold and rough personality. Perhaps because he's from the north, his unassuming demeanor is especially suited to a mischievous boy like Lilly.
"Yes, yes, sir taught me a lesson." Lilly seriously rethought many things.
Quinn listened for a moment, laughed a few times, and then stopped her: "Little girl, you're not finished yet, don't make a scene. Let's talk business. I have business in my hometown, so I need to get back. It might take a week. Rehearsals are suspended."
"Oh, good," Lilly agreed.
"You just need to find yourself quickly. Work on the new song is progressing too slowly. It's just a love song. You seem so experienced in love, so seasoned, but why are you singing it like an elegy?"
Hearing this, Lilly rolled her eyes. What love experience? She had none at all!
She fell in love with Ethan White, that enormous iceberg with a poisonous tongue, at first sight. As a result, she worked hard for four years and never even received a kiss.
How could she know about the feeling of reciprocated love?
"Ah, you've been through many battles, don't ruin my reputation!" Lilly feigned displeasure.
Quinn laughed a few more times and hung up.
"That's it, I didn't expect to be so lucky! I don't even need to ask for a vacation." Lilly turned to Karl with a triumphant gesture: "Where are we going to eat?"
"Let's have Japanese food today, how about my choice?" "Karl asked her what she thought.
"Excellent!" Lilly immediately smiled.
