Chapter 33 The Cheetah Is About to Attack
The reason she remembered Karl's number was because, after returning, she'd left Ethan behind and felt like a fish out of water. She suffered from pain for a long time.
At that time, she had to rely on alcohol to erase all images of Ethan from her mind before falling asleep.
After spending too much time in bars, Karl worried that it would be dangerous for her to drink alone on the street. Even though the bar she was in was run by Karl's friends, it was still a bar fraught with danger.
So Karl made her memorize his number and her friend's number so that even drunk, she could call them for help if she had any problems.
"Hello, hello, who is this?" Lilly's call was quickly answered. The familiar soft voice on the other end of the line made her nose ache, and the resentments pent up over the morning almost spilled out.
Lilly... She hastily held back her tears. It was happening on the balcony of Ethan's house. It would have been too embarrassing if she had burst into tears.
"Karl, it's me," Lilly feigned cheerfulness and said, "I saw you call this morning, but my phone broke and I couldn't use it, so I had to borrow a friend's phone to call you back."
"The phone broke?" Hearing this, Karl remembered the man who radiated a cold aura in the mornings. He didn't look like a kind person at all. He asked anxiously, "Why is the phone broken? Darling, are you okay? If you're being bullied, you should tell me."
Speaking of bullying, Lilly involuntarily raised her hand and touched the marks on her neck, still feeling a slight tingling sensation.
If Karl had seen this, he probably would have rushed toward her with a stethoscope and started a fight with Ethan.
Lilly imagined this scene and felt embarrassed. No, it was better not to see Karl until the mark on her neck disappeared.
"Darling?" Karl waited a long time, but didn't hear her words, and became even more worried.
Lilly said hastily and slyly, "It's fine, it's fine. Who am I? I'm so smart, I won't be bullied. Don't worry, I just accidentally broke my phone."
"Okay, you're always so reckless, it's broken, I'll buy you a new one tomorrow." Karl's voice was full of concern and consideration.
Lilly sobbed twice in excitement, "You're still the best for me. But I might be short on time lately. Let's arrange a meeting when we have time. At that time, you were supposed to go shopping with me at the Jimen Department Store, and we were also supposed to have some stew and desserts.”
"Fine, you only know how to eat," Karl laughed.
"Food is the most important thing for people, hehehe..." A girl's clear, ringing laugh drifted from the balcony.
Ethan's gaze involuntarily fell on Lilly, who was standing on the balcony talking on the phone. Seeing her laughing so happily, looking completely relaxed, mischievous, and innocent, his dark eyes involuntarily grew heavier and colder.
The cigarette in her fingers burned faster, and soon the pack was almost empty.
Ziyan was... She was about to continue complaining to him about the film crew, but she saw that he had absolutely no intention of listening to her and was busy smoking, and smoking heavily.
She followed him with his gaze, glanced at Lilly, who was chatting cheerfully on the balcony, and then turned back to him, who was smoking nonstop.
The man in front of her at that moment almost completely blocked his view. Why is he...How much does he care about Lilly? She didn't want to see him care about her so much!
The more he cares about Lilly, the more it shows that Lilly could take him away from her, and she would never allow that!
"It seems Lilly has a good relationship with her boyfriend," Ziyan sighed deliberately.
After these words, he looked at Lilly more closely, his gaze cold and sharp, like a cheetah ready to attack at any moment.
Ziyan felt pain, anger, and resentment in his heart. Why did this happen to Lilly? She has a boyfriend, and she's no longer the Lilly who loved you before. Why do you still care about her?
Lilly was completely oblivious to the two different looks behind her. She flirted with Karl for a while, and then remembered she hadn't asked anything. The whole point was that Karl was talking about food, and she was following him completely.
"By the way, I almost forgot, you called me this morning about something?" Lilly asked quickly.
"Well, Simo came back from his honeymoon and asked you if you'd go see the singer at the Romantic Bar again?" Karl said softly.
Hearing this, Lilly paused for a moment. Back, she was still studying for a master's degree. Not wanting to depend on her grandmother, she asked Karl to find her a part-time job as a singer at a bar. After some time working there, she met the owner of the bar, a mixed-race woman, and his wife.
Two months ago, the two of them went to Australia to work off their honeymoon and temporarily closed the bar.
"But I have club events in the evenings now. What should I do if I'm afraid I won't be able to handle it..." Lilly hesitated.
"I think so. Aren't you rehearsing a new song because of the unsuccessful club events? Why not change the scenery and find yourself at a bar? Anyway, Simo and I are pretty familiar. If you have something to do, you can leave anytime, no problem."
"Good idea," Lilly thought seriously and replied, "Okay, it's decided. I'll talk to the club when I get back tonight."
