Chapter 26 A Naked Threat
"Mr. Romano, have you lost your memory?" Lilly said sarcastically, "I said last night that I'll take a day off today."
"Who gave you the right to take a day off?" Shawn's eyes were as cold as a knife, shooting directly at her face, "Don't make me say it for the third time, get in the car."
Lilly is certainly not someone who will succumb to the tyranny of power. She refused to move a step and was about to bypass the Panamera when she heard someone in the car say coldly, "Johnson's Enterprise has a recent merger and acquisition project. Does Miss Johnson know about it?"
Lilly was stunned. Of course, she knew about the merger and acquisition project. It was a major merger and acquisition case that Johnson's Enterprise was discussing to stabilize the enterprise after resolving the divestment crisis.
Once successful, Johnson's Enterprise's previous losses could be made up, and its foothold would be more stable.
Shawn brought up this matter now, and she understood what it meant, no matter how dumb she was.
It was clearly a naked threat!
Threatening her?
Shawn, you are such an asshole!
Lilly was so angry that she was shaking all over. She didn't understand why he became such a harsh person. After all, she had just been discharged from the hospital today, and the needle hole on her hand was still there.
For Ziyan, he didn't care even if her hand was soaked in water and might get infected.
How important is Ziyan to him!
Lilly suddenly wanted to stay away from the man in front of her, as far away as possible.
She took a step back.
Shawn saw her movements, and his face seemed to be covered with a layer of frost. He suddenly took out his mobile phone and said in a low voice, "Miss Johnson, do you believe that with just one phone call from me, Johnson's Enterprise will be ruined?"
He can do it.
Lilly never doubted his ability, whether it was at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Provence or in this city, whether he was an associate professor in the music department or the president of an internationally renowned group.
She had managed to bring Johnson's Enterprise back to life; how could she let Enterprise be destroyed at such a critical moment...
Lilly took a deep breath and answered firmly, "I'll go."
After that, she turned and walked towards Karl and Yulia.
When Shawn appeared, Yulia pulled Karl aside to wait, because she was the only one who knew that Lilly and Shawn had signed an agreement. She promised not to disclose the matter and to help protect Lilly's secret.
So she and Karl were standing in a position where they could hardly hear the conversation between them.
Lilly roughly explained to them that she had work matters to discuss with the president of Wanying Group.
Although Karl was a little suspicious, fortunately, Yulia helped to cover up the lie and finally got away with it.
After getting in the car, Lilly waved goodbye to Karl and the others.
"Miss Johnson is reluctant to leave." His sarcasm drifted into her ears from the side.
She was so angry that her request for leave was rejected, and she was threatened by someone. She spoke like a hedgehog, "Mr. Romano, did you eat gunpowder or durian so early in the morning?"
He drove out of the hospital with a cold face.
On the way, the two of them were angry with each other and didn't say anything, but in terms of which side of the Cold War lasted longer, Lilly has always been the loser since four years ago.
She believes in the idea that life is to enjoy life in time, and doesn't like to be angry with herself or others for too long.
In short, it's rough.
So she was angry for a while and then put it behind her. Otherwise, if she really hated him, it would be very sad to live under the same roof for the next four months.
Suddenly, she vaguely smelled the fragrance of oyster porridge. Because she had just eaten it in the morning, she was particularly sensitive to this smell.
Soon, she saw the bag placed on the central armrest box.
"Did you buy oyster porridge too?" She asked in surprise.
He didn't answer her, but just smoked one cigarette after another. The whole Panamera was suddenly filled with a strong and pungent smell of tobacco.
"Shawn!" Lilly yelled and touched the wound on her lips again. Her pretty face twitched again in pain. She endured it and snatched the cigarette from the man's hand and put it out.
"You can't smoke anymore." Lilly took a few pieces of paper from the tissue box and covered her slightly bleeding lower lip. She continued to yell at him indistinctly, "If you have anything to say, say it, don't torture yourself. It makes me uncomfortable."
She hated this unclear feeling the most, didn't like procrastination, and liked to do everything cleanly.
When she first liked him in class, she wanted to be his girlfriend, so she would go all out to pursue him; after being rejected, she stayed by his side as a friend, and never crossed the line in her behavior. When he fell in love with another woman, she resolutely cut off all contact and left without looking back.
She once put him in the most important position in her heart, and she still does so now. His joys and sorrows once affected her most, and she still does so now.
Even if the wound on her lips hurts, it can't compare to the pain she sees him immersed in tobacco that she has never touched before.
Shawn turned his head and looked at the girl's cherry lips covered with blood through the white and ethereal smoke. Even if he hurt her like this, she still stubbornly didn't care. Did she still care about his emotions?
But her words were a great irony. The person who tortured him to this point, now, in front of him, told him righteously to tell him everything.
Tell it? Should she trample on him again? Just like she did the same year before, when she trampled on their relationship and the promise she had made to him?
"It has nothing to do with you." He finally answered indifferently.
"You!" She was furious and pointed at him angrily, "How come you have become so unreasonable!" After scolding him, she began to pull at the car door, but the car lock was locked, and she couldn't open it.
"Open the door! I want to get off!" Lilly turned around and shouted at him angrily.
