Chapter 25 The Angry Man
How much did he hate her that he was willing to force her to sign the agreement without sacrificing his feelings?
But no matter what, she would not admit it. Her self-esteem would never allow her to accept his revenge in vain without investigating the reason clearly.
Lilly pulled a cunning smile at the corner of her mouth and replied stubbornly, "Mr. Romano, what do you mean? I don't understand."
Hearing this, Shawn frowned arrogantly and felt a dull pain in his heart. She would rather pretend not to understand than give up the unworthy man.
"No matter what it is, I am very grateful for Mr. Romano's concern, but I know my own affairs, so I don't need Mr. Romano to bother to remind me." Her tone was obviously cold and angry.
He rarely saw her in such an attitude like this. In the past, when she was angry, she would be like a kitten whose tail was stepped on.
When she was not angry, she was like a piece of sticky candy that could not be shaken off but could make people sweet to the bone. The only difference was that she was not as cold as she was now.
Lilly, do you like that man named Carl so much?
"Really?" he stood up suddenly and looked down at her indifferently. The low-pressure bursting out of his body made him look like a king looking down on the world at this moment.
He rolled up his blade-like lips and said sarcastically, "I think Miss Johnson has recovered well. You can go to work as usual tomorrow."
After he finished speaking, he turned around and wanted to leave, but suddenly remembered something, turned back, and added a knife indifferently, "Finally, I remind you that the day Miss Johnson was absent due to illness can only be regarded as a leave, and the number of days stipulated in the contract will be postponed."
She was immediately furious and pointed at him angrily, "Why are you so unreasonable? I didn't get sick willingly, so it can't be considered sick leave? Please, can you not be so cold-blooded! "
He smiled coldly, opened his lips slightly, and uttered words like a poisonous snake: "No."
"You!" she was angry and said, "Then I will also take leave tomorrow. You can postpone it if you want, it's up to you!"
"Miss Johnson, it's unreasonable for you to take your temper out on me," he said slowly, "It's written in black and white in the contract that no matter what the situation is, once you are absent, the specified number of days will be automatically postponed, and I can't help it."
It sounds nice! It's obviously just a matter of his words. Why use the contract as a shield? Inhumanity is inhumanity!
She waved her hand and laughed twice, "Mr. Romano, you don't need to persuade me. I'm going to take a day off tomorrow! Mr. Romano, take care of me. I won't see you off."
He looked at her deeply, then walked out of the infusion room.
The next morning, Karl appeared at the hospital, still wearing a pair of black-framed glasses, but no longer wearing a white coat, but a simple, trendy black T-shirt and a pair of fashionable, cropped pants.
Not only did he arrive on time, but he also obediently gave her oyster porridge.
"Thank you, Karl." She took the oyster porridge and smiled, "I can leave after I finish hanging this bottle of water."
"Are you sure you're fine? There's no need to be so anxious to leave the hospital..." Karl rubbed her little head worriedly.
"Don't expect to change her mind. With her naughty personality, she can't stay in the hospital." Yulia said on the side.
Lilly and the two of them are good friends who have known each other since childhood. Although Yulia's relationship with Karl is not as close as hers and Karl's, they are also familiar with each other and have a good relationship.
"Don't listen to Yulia's nonsense. It's not a serious illness. It's just a fever. Just give it some intravenous drip. I've been like this since I was a child. It works as soon as I give it. You know that." Lilly raised her arm and made a dumbbell gesture to show that she was very strong.
"Lilly, be careful. Don't break your thin arm." Yulia didn't buy her words at all and dismantled her stage.
Lilly whimpered twice and looked heartbroken. Seeing the two girls making such a fuss, Karl thought it was so cute and couldn't help laughing out loud.
"Okay, honey, eat your oyster porridge quickly. The taste will change when it gets cold." Karl patted Lilly on the shoulder and said.
Lilly then turned her attention back to the oyster porridge in her hand. Maybe it was because of what happened last night. Seeing this bowl of porridge now reminded her of someone she shouldn't think about.
What she had said to that man echoed in her mind again, "When you are sick, you can eat a lighter dinner, but breakfast should always focus on nutrition, so oyster porridge is a very good choice."
It was that man again, and it was aan rrogant billionaire again!
Why is he everywhere? He is really haunting me!
Lilly shook her head, drove the shadow of Shawn out of her mind, and began to devour the oyster porridge.
After eating the porridge, the infusion was over. Lilly packed up and walked out of the hospital with Karl and others.
Outside the hospital, a black Panamera was parked in the shade at an angle.
Shawn sat in the driver's seat and saw the girl standing at the door, who was jumping up and down with her spirits restored, and the two people accompanying her.
To prevent Lilly from accidentally bumping into the people coming out from behind, Karl reached out to hold her steady and hugged her in his arms.
Shawn's pupils narrowed slightly, and he saw that the two of them didn't know what they were talking about. Carl suddenly pointed at his cheek, and Lilly smiled and leaned forward to kiss him.
This scene made Shawn's eyes hurt, and the anger instantly poured into his heart. He stepped hard, and the car flew out, directly blocking the group of people at the door.
Black Panamera?
Lilly looked at the car blocking in front of him, and his heart skipped a beat. Before he could stabilize, the car window slid down.
"Lilly, it's Shawn." Yulia's voice came faintly from the side.
Lilly was embarrassed immediately, glared at her, and said depressedly, "Thank you, Yulia, okay, this time I can't pretend to see it."
When she said it, she deliberately spoke loudly, intending to anger Shawn away.
As a result, she didn't see whether Shawn was angry or not, but she was so angry that she was about to jump up and down at his next order.
"Get in the car." Shawn turned his head and looked at her, commanding coldly.
What do you mean get in the car? What car? She has already asked for leave.
