Chapter 116
The door to the wedding hall opened and all heads turned to look at Alicia, she also couldn't believe that there would be so many people in attendance. The path she would walk had flowers on it and the one who had done that was Diane since she was the made the flower girl.
Alicia looked at Adams and she couldn't help but smile, Mr Antonio was right beside her, he was going to walk her down the aisle.
As he walked her down the aisle, everyone began clapping and cheering so loudly. Adams couldn't hold back his tears, his eyes was fixed on Alicia alone, she looked so beautiful and it could only make him realize how lucky he was to have such a woman by his side, they've been through so much together, there's been so many ups and downs, so many obstacles but those challenges had only made them closer and their love stronger.
He was so thankful when he proposed to her and she accepted, he had foolishly let a jewel like her go once, but he's never ever going to do that again, this time he's going to be with her until his last breath, he's never going to let anything come between them ever again. Alicia belongs to him and now he would rather die than let her go.
When Alicia got to where he stood, they both turned to look at each other. Their love for each other was clearly visible in their eyes. They said their vows and exchanged their wedding rings.
"You may now kiss the bride." The priest announced.
Alicia was blushing so hard and she was so damn shy, it made Adams heart flutter and he couldn't help but chuckle softly. He slowly cupped her face and kissed her, that made the crowd go wild as they all stood up screaming and clapping their hands.
They seemed to have forgotten that they were in the presence of so many people and couldn't stop kissing each other, the priests had to stop them before things got out of hand and it was a very funny moment.
When they broke the kiss, Adams hugged Alicia, he confessed his love to her and promised to be with her until the day he dies, he vowed never to hurt her and to always be there for both her and their daughter.
His confession made Alicia smile. "I love you too." She whispered in his ears. This time, she was so sure that she could trust Adams, she believed every word he said and knew that he was going to keep to his words.
They spent the rest of the day partying and celebrating their new reunion.
One could say that on this day, Alicia and Adams were the happiest people on earth and this was the happiest day of their life.
Their story is in fact an inspiring one and they have learned a lot from their experience, love does conquer all, they overcame their challenges and came out stronger. With their daughter and loved ones by their side, they were prepared for what the future held for them.
This was just the beginning of their joyous moments together, and together they are strong and powerful.
One month later...
It's been a month since Alicia and Adams wedding, these past few weeks, Mike made sure to spend quality time with them and most especially Diane, he was there for her in everything, so much that Diane got so used to him and wouldn't go a day without asking for her Uncle Mike.
Sadly, the time came for Mike to leave, he stood outside the airport, Alicia and Adams standing in front of him.
"Do you really have to leave?" Alicia questioned, not being able to hold back her tears.
Mike smiled sadly. "You know I have to." He replied.
Mike didn't want to leave but he just felt the need to, everything here reminds him of May, it's slowly making him lose his mind, he misses her so badly and just can't stop thinking about her, every night he would cry himself to sleep then dream about her, holding her in his arms. If it hadn't been for the love Adams and his family has been showering him then he would have ended his own life without thinking twice.
He's hoping this trip will help him take his mind off things a little and help him find some happiness, but one thing is certain, for as long as he lives, he's never going to be able to forget about May, she'll forever be in his heart.
"But you have us here, we're your family and we're here for you Mike, Diane also needs her Uncle by her side, she's so fond of you." Alicia said, trying to get him to stay.
"It's only for a little while Alicia, I'm not going to be away forever, I promise to come back soon."
"But—" Her words were cut off when Mike hugged her.
"Please let Diane know that I'm always going to love and be there for her, I couldn't see her because I didn't want her to cry and feel sad, please let her know that I love her so much." He said.
Alicia sighed deeply and hugged him back. "I will Mike." She replied. "Thank you for everything and I hope you find happiness, it's sad that I can't stop you from leaving but please make sure you come back to us okay, you'll always have a family in Seattle waiting for you with open arms."
They hugged each other briefly and then Alicia let him go, Mike hugged Adams next.
"No matter what happens, we're always going to be here for you Mike, we're your family, never forget that." Adams said to him.
Mike smiled. "Didn't I say you love me so much." He teased.
Adams slapped his back before letting him go. "Just shut up and go board the flight before you miss it."
"So you're still not going to admit it huh?''
"How about admitting it with my fist." He raised his hand and balled his fist.
"That's enough you two." Alicia laughed. They both like to argue with each other but one could easily tell that they love each other so much, even though Adams would never say it out loud, he cares so much about Mike and worries about him every time.
"I'll be back soon." Mike said to them.
The trio did a group hug before Mike left, but he made sure to take a look at them once more, waved them goodbye and went into the airport.
"Do you think he's going to be okay?" Alicia asked worriedly, she knows it's still so hard for Mike to get over May and that's the reason he's leaving.
"Mike is strong, he'll do just fine." Adams reassured her.
They both waited until they could no longer see him before leaving.
Meanwhile on Mike's way to board his flight, a lady ran into him, she hit him so hard that she lost her balance, but before she could fall, Mike wrapped his hand around her waist to prevent her from falling.
When Mike saw the lady's face, his eyes widened in shock, he couldn't believe his eyes and for a moment he thought he was dreaming, what sort of crazy game was fate playing on him.
"M...May?" He muttered, his heart pounding in his chest.
Confusion was written on the lady's face when he called her May, she instantly stood properly and stepped away from him. "I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to run into you, I'm just in a hurry." She bowed her head in apology then she hurriedly gathered her things that had fallen from her hands when she hit Mike and ran off, not forgetting to apologize to him once more.
All this while, Mike couldn't do anything but stare at her, he was in shock and only came to his senses when the lady ran off, he turned and wanted to call out to her but he couldn't find her anywhere. His eyes suddenly caught a white piece of paper lying on the floor and also a weird looking necklace, he bent to pick them up, on the paper was an address and he guessed that must be where the lady must be heading to.
Mike suddenly became confused, he doesn't understand how someone would look exactly like his late girlfriend.
As he stood in the airport, staring at the paper in his hand, an announcement came, asking the passengers to board their flights. Mike thought about leaving or going after the lady he just ran into.
It was a tough decision for him and even though it sounds stupid, he couldn't care less.
He held tightly to the handle of his suitcase and ran out of the airport, going after the lady he just met.
The End.
