Chapter 91 Fun Dinner

Chapter 91 Fun Dinner
JESSICA

If relieved was a person, that would be me right now.

My boyfriend is here!

I can't help my smile right now.

He pulled up in front of his uncle's car and the driver's seat door opened. He got out, dressed in his lab coat.

Aw.

He literally came all the way from the hospital.

"Babe," I called, taking steps towards him as he approached.

"I am so sorry, babe. The ER was flooded and I was among the few doctors available," he said in between breaths, making me smile.

"It's okay. You are here now. That's all that matters," I said, reaching for a hug.

He wrapped his hands around me and I wrapped my hands around his neck, still feeling delighted to see him.

And someone who refused to leave cleared his throat, making me heave a sigh and claiming Michael's attention.

Demons will always be demons.

"Oh, Mr Cole," Michael called, unwrapping me and walking past me towards Uncle Xavier.

I looked at them as I folded my hands. Uncle Xavier is leaning on his car, his hands folded and staring at Michael.

"I am sorry, I didn't see you there," Michael said, extending his hand to Uncle for a handshake.

"I am as tall as you, man. Don't say you didn't see me." Uncle said without even taking Michael's hand.

I scoffed internally, shaking my head.

So rude.

Michael withdrew his hands slowly. "I apologize, sir. That came out wrong."

"Hmm. I heard you are dating my niece now."

I am sorry, who is his niece again? Kendra right? Cause certainly not me.

"Uh..." Michael smiled a bit. "Yes, sir. We are official now," he said, looking my way with a smile.

I smiled at him.

"I see." Uncle Xavier said. "And this is how you treat her?"

I furrowed my brows.

"Um...I don't understand, sir"

"What kind of a boyfriend makes his girlfriend wait for him out here alone at this time?"

I scoffed in disbelief.

"You know it is freezing and lonely out here. Is this how genuine your so-called intentions are toward her?" Uncle added, making them take steps towards them.

"It is not what you think, sir. I was....."

"You don't have to explain to him, Babe" I chipped in, gabbing Michael's arm and making both of them look at me.

I looked at Uncle Brad

His eyes are on me.

"He is just my dad's friend and not my dad," I said without taking my eyes off him and ignoring my relentlessly racing heart.

His eyes are still on me.

"You don't need to explain anything to him. Let's just go," I said, walking past Uncle Xavier while dragging Michael's hand along.

He took me towards the passenger seat and opened the door for me.

I entered and he closed the door for me.

I reached for the seat belt as he walked around the car and got in.

He looked my way and I smiled at him.

He smiled as well before starting the car. He spun the wheel, we turned, and drove past Uncle Xavier's car.

I rested my eyes on the side mirror as we drove. I saw Uncle staring at us as we drove.

I felt my racing heart relaxing but I kept staring as we drove further away from him.

Uncle Xavier, I will never forgive you for hurting me like that.

I was so stupid to let you take my virginity.

But it's okay.

I can't change the hands of time and do things right.

Just stay away from me! Forever!

I averted my eyes from the mirror, feeling tears approaching but I suppressed them as I stared at the road.

I just can't wait to get on my bed and go to sleep.

Night outs are just not my thing.

MINUTES LATER.........

AT THE SAMUELS' GATE......

"Thank you for making time out of your busy schedule to come get me."

Michael smiled.

"I am really grateful," I said, smiling at him.

"It's nothing. Anything for my pretty girlfriend," he said, moving the strand of my hair behind my ear and making me smile again. We are currently in his car parked in front of our gate.

We just got here and it is time to say our goodbyes for the night.

"I am sorry if I am not treating you right, babe."

I furrowed my brows.

"The ER was really flooded with patients and I...."

"I understand, Michael. You already told me that. I know how tedious our work can be. I am a nurse, remember?" I asked, letting out a tiny chuckle.

He is staring at me with concern.

"You are treating me well," I added.

"Really?"

"Yes, babe. Really." I said, placing my hand on his.

"Okay. It just....your uncle doesn't seem to agree with...."

"Forget about what he said. It is not relevant and he doesn't have a say in my life." I retorted, making him furrow his brows a bit.

I heaved a sigh, lowering my gaze and calming my nerves.

"What's wrong, babe? Are you on bad terms with your uncle or something?" he asked.

I looked at him.

He is staring at me.

Yes. I hate him for always treating me badly and hurting me.

I reached for Michael's cheek and caressed it.

"Let's just forget about him. You are a good boyfriend and you are treating me well. You left work just to come get me. That's one of the best things good boyfriends do."

His lips formed a soft smile, attracting my eyes.

I moved my eyes to his.

His eyes fell on my lips and then back to my eyes.

I began leaning in, claiming his eyes on my lips.

He is leaning in as well.

We took each other's lips, moving slowly and gently. I reached for his cheek, cupping it as the kiss went on.

He reached for my neck, holding me gently.

I moved my hand down from his cheek to his shoulder.

The kiss took a different turn. He became hotter.

His fingers moved up my hair and I gripped his coat.

I felt a tingle between my legs, making me let out a moan.

The kiss went on.

I found my hand running from his shoulder down to his lower body.

My brain and curiosity worked faster than I, controlling my hand as it moved towards his belt.

I thought about stopping myself.

But a foreign courage within me pushed me to go on.

I began undoing his belt.

Which was a wrong move cause he held my hands, stopping me and withdrawing from the kiss.

My heart pounded and my cheeks heated up as I stared at him.

Oh God.

"I uh.....not here," he said, releasing my hands. "Okay?"

I nodded, lowering my gaze.

God, what has gotten into me? Why did I do that?!

He reached for my chin, raising my face and I locked eyes with him.

He leaned in and kissed my temples.

I smiled slightly, still feeling embarrassed.

"I will see you tomorrow, right?"

I nodded.

"Okay. Good night," he said, smiling.

"Good night," I said, smiling as well. I opened the door and got out of the car.

I held my purse, letting out a sigh before walking towards the gate.

I turned to him.

He is staring at me.

I smiled and waved at him.

He waved slightly.

I opened the gate and entered the compound. Next, I heard his car driving away.

I closed my eyes, recalling how I worked on his belt and his hands stopping me.

I shut my eyes tightly, tapping my temples with my palm as regret washed over me.

Seriously, Jessica! What has gotten into you?!

Now how are you going to sleep tonight?

This will definitely hunt you and you know it.

Ugh!

NEXT DAY.............MORNING.......

I stared at myself in the mirror dressed in my scrubs as I worked on tying my hair to match my taste for the day.

Nothing is working.

The band ripped off, making me heave a sigh. That's the third time since I started working on my hair.

I don't get it. I usually get it right. What is happening today?

Last night replayed in my head, making me close my eyes and shake my head.

Opening my eyes, I lowered my hands and my hair fell on my shoulders.

Ugh!

I walked towards my nightstand and took out the drawer. I took out two more bands and walked back to the mirror.

"Honey, breakfast!" Mom sang from outside as I heard her walking by.

"Coming!" I said, tying my hair.

This time, it worked.

Finally.

I stared at myself one last time before grabbing my bag and phone and heading out of my room.

David was walking out of his room as well, dressed in his uniform.

He looks adorable as always.

"Hey there, little brother," I said, smiling.

"You weren't at dinner last night," he said, giving me his cute angry look and folding his hands.

"Hmm. Is that so?"

He folded his hands without dropping his angry look.

"Where were you?"

"I was eating a more fun dinner at the party," I said, walking closer to him and crouching down to his height as I unlocked my phone.

I moved to my gallery and clicked on the picture of the buffet I took yesterday specifically for him.

"See," I said, showing him the picture.

His face twitched.

I chuckled, making him look at me.

"What about mine?" he whined.

I shrugged. "I ate it all"

He gasped.

I nodded. "Uh huh"

"I am telling mom. Mom!" he called, walking past me.

I chuckled, following him behind.

Told you he is going to be jealous.

This is always fun whenever I do it.

And he does the same to me sometimes. He uses Mom's phone to take pictures and then show it to me.

He did it recently. Now, it is my turn.

"Mom!"

"What?" I heard Mom's voice from the dining room as I descended the stairs.

"Jessica had a fun dinner at a party last night and she didn't bring anything for me," he whined.

"Did she?" Mom asked, looking my way.

I smiled.

She tilted her head questionably at me.

"She ate it all by herself," David whined again.

"Oh sweetie, that's unfair." Mom said to him as I walked towards them.

"But don't worry, you will have a fun dinner at a party very soon. Luke's birthday party is this weekend right?"

He nodded.

"Good. You will have a lot of goodies there."

"And I won't bring Jessica anything," he said, looking at me.

I raised my brows. "Luke's mom is going to invite me too."

"No! Mom, don't let her invite Jessica," he whined, making me chuckle as I sat on the seat next to him.

"Okay, you two. Time to eat and get going. Enough fighting." Mom said, fixing our plates.

David poked out his tongue at me.

I did the same.

He repeated it, making me smile.

He is literally a character.

AN HOUR LATER........

AT WELLNESS OASIS HOSPITAL......

I put my phone in my pocket as I walked around the front desk, heading to my seat.

"Jess, hey" Catherine took my attention as she joined me at the desk.

"Hey, how was your night?"

"I should be asking you. You went to an event, right?"

I nodded. "Yes, I did," I said, smiling.

"That smile speaks volumes."

I chuckled. "It was fun. I ate a lot of cupcakes."

"Geez. Girl, you are obsessed," she said, flipping through her notes.

"It's my favorite snack. Stop judging me."

She shrugged, writing something down on her note and closing the note back up.

"I also drank quite a number of champagnes," I added.

"Good. Something different."

I nodded.

"Well, I am glad you had fun. Look," she moved closer. "You need to know the latest news about Ashley and Just...."

I sucked my teeth, cutting her off.

"Seriously, Cath, them again?"

"What? Don't you want to know about them?"

"No."

She scoffed.

"It is too early for gossip. Don't you think?"

"Uh...nope. It is never too early for gossip. Especially this gossip I am about to tell you. Please let me tell you. Please!" She whined.

"No way. I am not interested."

"Why not?"

"Because....."

"Jessica! Catherine!" Miriam's voice was interrupted. "The OR now," she ordered, walking past the desk.

Cath heaved a sigh. "We just got here. Can't someone have a little break before all this?"

"Let's go before she yells at us," I said, walking around the table.

"To be honest, Jess, I need a vacation," she said, making me chuckle.

"Like a real one."

"Yeah, yeah, come on," I said, taking her hand and pulling her along.
