Chapter 48 Sweet Mom
JESSICA
"What? Heading out? What do you mean by heading out?" Mom asked.
"I am taking David to the amusement park as I promised him," Dad said, making me look at David.
He is grinning.
Mom huffed in disbelief.
"And after that, we will go to the office. I have a lot more IMPORTANT things to do there." Dad stressed the last sentence, making me look at him.
"That's the entire day. It's your daughter's congratulatory party and you are leaving? With David?" Mom asked.
"Yes, I am." he snapped.
I lowered my gaze as my heart clenched.
"Leo, we talked about this. You are being really un....."
"Come on, champ." Dad blurted, walking away.
"Leo," mom paused, heaving a sigh and rubbing her temples.
I can sense her frustration.
"Mom, it's....."
"Can you at least leave David and go alone?!" Mom retorted.
"Nope," Dad said as I watched him open the passenger seat door for David and he entered.
"Leo."
"Bye, Carmen," Dad said, walking around the car to the driver's seat.
I felt tears approaching as he entered the car and drove backwards, heading towards the gates.
If I were unhappy about not having friends at my party, this is worse. My dad and brother won't be present.
"Honey," mom took my attention as she held my hand.
"Ignore him, okay? That's his loss."
I nodded.
"We are going to have so much fun together with your friends, okay?" she said, caressing my hair and smiling.
I forced a smile.
"That's my princess. Come on, hurry. It is almost noon. The guests will soon be here." she said, running up the stairs.
I looked at the gates, void of Dad's car.
If I could bail out of this party, I would.
But Mom is too excited for this.
I don't want to ruin it.
She is with me always.
That's enough.
I walked up the stairs and into the house.
AN HOUR LATER
IN THE KITCHEN......
"You are such a filthy thing and I see now why your father hates you so much."
My heart tightened as I stopped stirring the butter mix in a bowl in my hand, staring at it randomly as the time in his office replayed all over again.
I am not expecting him today. I know he is not going to come.
Not after how mean he was to me after I told him about the kiss.
He is not coming.
But......
Why does a part of me still hope that he would come?
Sighing, I stared at the view through the windows in front of me.
The bright day is contrary to the pain I am feeling right now.
I am not having a good day.
My dad.
Uncle Xavier.
The kiss.
My topping sins.
The fact that I have only one friend coming to my party.
I am not even sure if he would come. He might be busy.
I didn't remind him yesterday.
I didn't even see him all through yesterday.
This is not a good day.
"You are still here, sweetie?" Mom asked, making me turn to her.
"Um...the butter mix is not ready yet," I said as she hurried towards me, took the bowl from me, and placed it on the sink.
"I will work on it. Just go upstairs and get dressed. Our guests will soon be here." she said, turning me around with her hands on my arms and urging me towards the door.
"Wear that pretty dress and come downstairs," she said, releasing me.
"Okay," I said lazily as I headed out of the kitchen.
I walked towards the stairs, wondering how today would be.
I climbed the stairs as I thought of how today is going to be.
Just me and my mom feeding on all the cakes and drinks.
It will be fun.
Ish.
Sighing, I walked along the hallway till I got to my room.
I opened the door and walked in. I walked towards my closet and took out the yellow dress Mom bought for me.
Yeah, my mom still buys me clothes.
I don't think I will ever want her to stop.
I am terrible at fashion.
I have no clue.
I am glad my career doesn't require much. Just scrubs.
Mom bought many for me.
Sue me. My mom is my everything.
I placed my dress on the bed, walked towards the spot where my shoes are kept, and picked up my silver heels.
I will be matching it with my silver hair band.
Mom's idea.
I placed my heels close to my bed and stared at them.
Sighing, I headed towards the bathroom. Time went by and I was done with my business.
I applied my body spray, body lotion, face cream, and then put on my underwear.
I stared at myself in the mirror while in my undies.
My boobs are moderate size. I got a wide waist, nice hips, and.....
I turned to the side, staring at my backside.
Moderate back side.
"My name is Xavier, beautiful."
"Relax, baby."
"Damn, those curves."
I gulped, feeling that ungodly feeling in between my legs again.
More guilt watched me as I fiddled with my fingers.
I turned towards my bed. I picked up my dress, put it on, and then my heels.
I walked towards my drawer and took out my hairbrush. I brushed my hair and fixed the band on it.
I applied lip gloss and perfume.
Done with everything, I walked towards the mirror for the last time.
The dress is a perfect size and very beautiful.
It is above the knee-length, long-sleeved made of net material, my chest fully covered and I have slight huge tail at my back from my waist down to the floor.
I love it.
It is beautiful.
I heaved a sigh as the thought of the party haunted me.
I admired myself one more time.
Just for pictures and partying with my mom.
This day will be good with her around.
I inhaled and exhaled.
Time to go.
I headed out of my room, and my heels clicked as I walked on the marble floor of the hallway.
I got to the stairs and.....
"CONGRATULATIONS!!!!"
I flinched slightly, placing my hand on my chest as I stared at the quite number of people standing in the living room, clapping happily and blowing their celebratory whistles that popped out shiny things.
My heart melted as I stared at them.
I think I recognize them. My mom's friends, customers, and some familiar vendors who sell on the same street as my mom.
Oh my God.
She really invited all of them.
Mom is standing right in front of them, staring at me with a smile. She is dressed in a blue dress, looking very beautiful.
That's my mom, guys.
"Congratulations, sweetie," she said.
I felt tears coming.
"My beautiful smart girl. I am so proud of you, honey."
I smiled.
"I got a professional nurse in my house, guys." she bragged.
Everyone clapped again.
"Best in her class! I am not kidding, people. I am serious."
"Yeah!" Lydia squealed, clapping with the others.
I let out a chuckle but wiped my tiny tear with my finger.
"I'm proud of you, sweetie." Mom said, walking up to me.
I descended the few stairs till we got to each other and we hugged.
Everyone clapped again.
"I love you, Mom." I sniffled.
"I love you too, sweetie." She said, placing a kiss on my hair and caressing it.
I closed my eyes and opened them.
Thank you, Lord for giving me such an amazing mom.
She withdrew and looked at me.
"No tears," she said, wiping my face.
I nodded.
"I want unlimited smiles."
I nodded, smiling.
"Picture this day as a reward for all your hard work and nights of painful studying."
I let out a chuckle.
"Okay, sweetie?"
"Okay."
She turned to the guests.
"Let's go and party!" she sang.
"Whoo!!!!!" Everyone squealed, heading out.
"Let's go, guys. Cakes and drinks are outside in the all-you-can-eat buffet table!" Lydia said, following others outside.
Mom chuckled as we descended the stairs.
