Chapter 46 Little Chaos
KENDRA
The door opened, revealing the familiar secretary.
But behind her was an unfamiliar blonde woman who looked around the secretary's age cause the secretary is quite older.
Could be late twenties or early thirties. I can't tell but they are older.
"Good day, sir," the secretary greeted.
"Anita. Back already." Xavier said as they stood in front of the desk. I took in their dressing.
Anita is dressed in a peach blouse and black pants while the unfamiliar woman is dressed in a tight brown dress and her big boobs are.....
Why is she here, though? For work or is she a hooker? I don't get it.
Her cleavage is all over the place.
"And who do we have here?" Xavier asked, making me look at him.
His lustful eyes are on the blonde woman and he has a smile on his face I find stupid.
I scoffed internally.
"This is Samantha Walls, our new intern," Anita said.
Intern?
"Intern, huh?" Xavier said, still staring at her like he had never seen a woman before.
"Nice to meet you, Samantha,"
"Thank you, sir," she spoke for the first time, smiling annoyingly.
"I have heard so much about you and your achievements so far," she said, still smiling like fucking hooker.
"All good things, I hope?" Xavier asked.
"Absolutely,"
I scoffed.
"Can I call you Sam?" he asked.
Seriously?
"Of course, sir."
"You are gorgeous," he said, smiling.
I clenched my knuckles as I looked at the bitch.
She is blushing.
"Thank you, sir."
"When is she starting?" He asked.
"Right away, sir," Anita answered. "She is here to meet you, make her presence known, and get some files from you."
Xavier hummed, still checking the bitch out.
Seriously, what is his problem?
"I want to start training her immediately," Anita said.
"How was the meeting?" Xavier asked.
"It went well. Here are the reports. " Anita said, handing over a file to him.
"Thanks. You look exhausted. Take a break while I start Sam's training myself." he said, staring at the bitch again.
"You want to train her yourself?" Anita asked, sounding a bit surprised.
"Well, I..."
"Yes, uncle, you want to train the intern?" I asked, making him look at me.
Or say, reminding him of my fucking presence.
He clearly has forgotten while low-key flirting.
What is wrong with him?
"I thought it was the secretary's job to do that, right?" I asked, looking at Anita.
Anita furrowed her brows at me.
"Um... Kendra,"
I looked at him.
"I thought you said you had an event to go to," he said, making me freeze.
Is he serious right now?
He furrowed his brows slightly.
"I don't mind if you train me, sir." the bitch spoke up, making me throw her a scowl.
She is smiling at Xavier.
"It will be an honor."
Bitch.....
"Alright then. Have a seat please." Xavier said.
I scoffed as she took a seat happily.
I am not taking this shit.
I grabbed my bag and fur coat and took angry steps towards the door.
"I will see you later, Kendra." I heard him but I didn't stop walking out the door.
You look gorgeous. Seriously?
We just fucked and you are calling another woman gorgeous right in front of me.
Fucking flirting.
I don't fucking get it. Is that supposed to be a fucking typical behavior from men his age?
What the.....
My phone rang, stopping me in my tracks. I heaved a sigh as I took out my phone from my purse.
Mercedes is the dialer.
The fucking event.
I can't go.
He has ruined my fucking mood.
Sorry Mercedes.
I put my phone back into my purse and headed towards the elevator.
NIGHT HOURS
AT THE STERLINGS' MANSION
"Something came up, Cedes, geez. Stop sounding like I missed the biggest event of my life," I said, shaking my head in disbelief while walking along the hallway.
I am dressed in shorts and a crop top, talking to my nagging bestie over the phone.
We have been talking for minutes now and I have been telling her this one thing!
What kind of something came up that she doesn't understand?
"Seriously, Kenzy? It is the biggest event of our lives. What the fuck are you saying?" she asked, making me rub my temples.
"Nicole was upset. I had to tell him a lot of lies just so he wouldn't see you differently and it would kill our chances of getting the ambassador deal."
I rolled my eyes.
"Bitch, you just rolled your eyes at me?" she asked, catching me off guard.
"Wha....listen, calm down. Trust me, this is not going to prevent us from getting the ambassador deal. Nicole loves us. He loves me."
She scoffed.
"I am serious. And besides, even if we don't get it which is impossible, we will be fine." I said, getting closer to the stairs.
"You mean you will be fine. I am not a former commissoner's only daughter, news flash. Stop playing with my future for Pete's sake, Kenzy."
Geez, this bitch keeps....
"What the fuck do you want me to do?" I asked, descending the stairs as I heard clicking utensils from the dining area.
"Call him," she ordered.
I nodded. "Yes, ma'am."
"I am serious, Kenzy."
"Who said you aren't?"
"Call him and give a good explanation."
"I will do that."
"Good. After that, call me and give me my good explanation because I ain't buying your 'something came up' BS. Bye!" she hung up.
Nagging ass.
Sighing, I locked my phone as I got to the last stair. I headed towards the dining table, staring at my family as they ate while the maids served them.
"Wow, eating without me. How sweet." I said, taking out a seat next to Alex who is eating like he hasn't eaten all day.
"I sent one of the maids to call you twice." Mom said as I placed my phone on the table and sat in the seat.
"Maybe it wasn't enough," I muttered.
"What was that?" Dad asked, making me look at him. He is seated in his head chair, staring at me.
"Nothing," I said, picking up my cutlery as I stared at my meal.
We are having rice, veggies, and chicken sauce.
Boring.
"How many times have I warned you about cursing in my house?" he asked.
I looked at him.
He is staring at me.
"But I didn't curse."
"Are you calling me deaf?"
"Brad...." Mom trailed off the minute Dad scowled at her.
She cleared her throat as she faced her meal.
I faced my meal as well.
"Don't curse in my house again," Dad warned calmly.
"Yes, sir," I said, fighting the urge to roll my eyes.
He might be my dad but he's one annoying strict parent.
Ask me why I am still living with my parents at this age.
He has refused to sponsor a mansion for me but is planning on giving Alex one because he has a decent job.
What does that even mean? 'A decent job'
I scoffed internally.
I know he hates my career as a dancer but it is my passion. Along with fashion but I love dancing mostly.
And I earn from it too but not enough to buy me a fucking house.
I have a billionaire as a father for Pete's sake. I shouldn't be going through this.
I don't want to stress my head about this now because it will only make me fucking mad.
"Which reminds me, Dad. Did Jessica tell you about her party coming up this Saturday?" Alex asked.
Seriously?
"Alex," mom called, throwing him a scowl.
"Oh yes, she did. Something about a congratulatory party, right?" Dad asked, looking interested.
Of course he is.
He loves Jessica and that annoys the shit out of me.
"Yeah. Aunty Carmen wants to celebrate her job as a nurse." Alex said, building in me the urge to smack his face.
"That's good. Such a profession is worth celebrating." Dad said.
I scoffed internally.
Wow.
Such a profession?
Is that supposed to be a fucking bullet for me?
"We are going, right?" Alex asked.
Shut up, dude.
"Aren't you supposed to be in court that day, Mr Attorney?" Mom asked.
"Not really," Alex said.
"Of course, we are going," Dad said.
I am not surprised.
"We all are," he added.
"You all can go. I am not interested." Mom huffed.
"Why not?" Dad asked.
"Because I don't want to, Brad. Why, are you going to force me?" Mom asked.
Dad didn't respond but stared at her.
"I am not going." Mom said.
"Me neither," I said, making him look at me.
"I am not interested and besides, I have practice that day," I said, eating my meal.
Alex scoffed.
Shut up.
"Can I know the reason why whenever it is about Carmen and Jessica, you both get like this?" Dad asked.
"Can we also know the reason why when it is about Carmen and her kid, you are always ready to show up?" Mom clapped back.
I love her.
Dad didn't respond but stared at her.
Go on, Dad. Answer the question.
"I am listening, Brad."
Yes, Dad. We are listening.
Dad remained mute.
As expected.
He just loves everything about Jessica.
And it has been like that since we were kids.
I just don't get it.
I am his daughter not Jessica.
What's with the weird favoritism?
Hell, I am his only daughter!
"Well, I am going. I can't miss it for anything." Alex said, eating his meal nonchalantly.
Ugh. Him too.
Fucking annoying.
"Well, I also hope I get the same energy from you and dad during my time?"
They looked at me.
I raised my brows.
"What are you celebrating?" Dad asked.
"I have a dance show happening next week," I said.
"Dance show."
"Yes. And as my family, you all have to be there. And you won't miss it for anything, will you, Alex?" I mouthed his name, narrowing my eyes at him.
He furrowed his brows.
"What's with the look?" He asked.
"Answer me."
He opened his mouth to speak but.....
"You want us to come and watch a dance show?" Dad asked.
What the....
"What's wrong with that?" Mom asked, making him look at her.
Yes, Dad. Please answer.
"What do you mean what's wrong with that? You don't expect me to....."
"Your own daughter will be performing, Brad. Right, honey?" Mom asked.
"Yes, Mom. I am the star of the studio so I get a special performance to do that day." I said.
"See?" She asked Dad. "She is the star. That's a huge deal. Way better than any stupid congratulatory party you want to force down my kids' throat."
Alex let out a tiny chuckle.
"Dad didn't force me."
"Shut up and eat." Mom shunned.
"Valentina, don't call other people's things stupid," Dad said.
Oh please.
"And don't treat other people better than the way you treat your own. We are going to her show to support her as her loving family. Period."
"Thanks, mom," I said, smiling at her.
"You are the princess of the Sterling family, honey. The one and only princess. Everything is about you and no one else." she praised.
I flipped my hair proudly. Increase the fucking volume, mom.
"Oh brother." I heard Alex mutter.
Jealous much?
"If we are going to your show, Kendra," Dad spoke up, making me look at him.
"You have to go to the party first."
I scoffed. "Seriously, Dad?"
"That's final."
"And on period," Alex added, making me throw him a glare.
He chewed his meal nonchalantly.
Ugh!
"It's okay, honey." Mom said, making me look at her.
"It is going to be a boring party anyway. Boring as the celebrant and mother of the celebrant," she said.
I smirked.
"Just go there and count time," she said.
"Valentina,"
"What?"
Dad didn't say a word but stared at her.
Mom ate nonchalantly.
My phone vibrated.
I didn't pick it up but continued eating.
"Little Chaos?" Alex asked, making me freeze.
He is looking at my phone with furrowed brows.
I quickly grabbed my phone away.
He looked at me.
My heart pounded as I stared at him.
"Who is X?"
Fuck.
