Chapter 85 Again Misunderstanding

Chapter 85 Again Misunderstanding

Aunt Sveta patted my hand. "Well, don't be angry."

“At him! Shawn's a good man... And he cares about you, Sarah. Believe me, if he didn't care about you, he wouldn't have lifted a finger. But he does it quietly, without bragging. He doesn't show off in front of the journalists, like some do! I mean, from the heart, you see, from the heart, he started raising our whole village... Not a single journalist or person with a camera was seen.”

It's crazy...

These words sank deep into my soul, made me think.

What if she's right?

He still loves me... Despite everything.

But he can't say it openly. There are reasons. I think there are even several.

Aunt Sveta stayed with me in the apartment for a few days, significantly lifting my spirits, after which she went back to the village, as it was unsettling to leave the farm in the care of our neighbor. And once again, I've sunk into a boring routine.

I have no friends, no one to really talk to or go for a walk with. I only go to doctors and classes. I didn't sign up for the classes for expectant mothers... I don't see the point, but I still haven't given up trying to find a way out of this difficult situation.

I decided to start with Boris! To gain his sympathy and avoid getting bored, I started feeding him homemade treats.

What else could I do? I didn't want to die of boredom, so I started cooking, I love it. Shawn gave me a card for various expenses, so I used it generously. Let him fork out since he locked me within four walls.

Aunt Sveta actually speaks positively of him! It's as if she wasn't talking about him. Honestly, I didn't expect that. After the nanny's enthusiastic stories, my anger subsided... I even began to hope that he might have some feelings for me. After all, he was fixing village houses without any fanfare, without the media, and that says a lot.

I just wanted to sit down with Shawn this evening over a cappuccino and talk. Just have a calm, peaceful conversation, tell him that I wasn't trying to betray him!

Let this conversation be warm and sincere; maybe then we'll mend our relationship and clear everything up. He'll trust me, the war will end, life will start to improve, and then maybe I'll persuade him not to take my son away from me.

I'll even cook him his favorite pilaf! That's right! I thought he promised to stop by in a few days...

He is currently on a business trip. I made plans, cheered up, and lay down on the couch in the living room to watch a little TV, but as soon as I turned on the news channel, I was overcome with rage again!

Some kind of social event was being broadcast on the screen, and Shawn was the center of attention, the most important star of the evening, surrounded by all the most flamboyant socialites. Gorgeous, expensively dressed, and well-groomed girls were literally clinging to his neck. Even the host was trying to flirt with him.

Well, well...

What a coincidence. How lucky I was to turn on the TV! I felt a bitterness rising up my esophagus, penetrating every cell of my body. They were presenting him with some kind of prize. Congratulating him on his first place in the Forbes race. One of the girls, holding a gold cup, hands it to him and... kisses him heartily on the cheek.

I can't take it anymore! I impulsively turn off the TV and throw the remote at the wall.

Crash!

I start pacing quickly, trying to calm down. I'm shaking with rage.

Rage?

Or jealousy?

Oh no!

I was wrong, I was wrong.

He always has been and always will be a damn womanizer!

Look how he smiled when a busty blonde slobbered all over his cheek.

And I didn't see Kate in sight!

So what am I supposed to make of this?

Arrgh!

How this all irritates me! No peace dinner for him! I'll cook all the delicious food for Boris!

Not worthy, Shawn.

Not a couple of seconds pass before Boris bursts into the room, pistol in hand. With practiced movements, he begins scanning every corner of the room, checking out the situation.

"What was that noise?"

"Oh, nothing..." I sigh sadly, trying not to cry. "The remote just committed suicide. Never mind..." I wave my hand dismissively. "You know what, let's go make you some pilaf. I have nothing better to do anyway. So, Boris, do you like pilaf?"

"Sorry, I'm at work!" he said, sitting bolt upright.

"There you go again!" I yawned boredly and trudged to the kitchen. "I'm terribly bored! Let me feed you anyway, I love to cook."

He's a good man, not like some others... I need to occupy my mind with something quick and let out my anger. I put on my apron and get to work.

Boris hesitates awkwardly in the kitchen doorway, as if hesitant. I tried so hard, I planned the evening, but I had to ruin it all for him in a second.

"Don't worry! The boss has completely forgotten about me, look how he's enjoying himself with the girls at high-society parties! He'll only remember me when I give birth." Gritting my teeth, I began to cut the meat into pieces, quite aggressively, imagining that each piece of meat was Shawn.

Here you go! That's for those busty hens! An hour later, we sit down to dinner. I finally managed to get Boris to sit down at the table and serve him a whole plate of his signature delicacy.

Look, Shawn, what have you lost! Boris eats with such relish that his ears are ringing.

And the smell... It fills the entire apartment. I deliberately didn't turn on the range hood. Let the neighbors be jealous.

I've spruced myself up a bit, even curled my hair a little with a curling iron. Boris has been eyeing me lately with a noticeable twinkle in his light gray eyes.

He's a good man. Maybe something would have worked out between us...
