Chapter One Hundred and Fifty One
I am happy Ms Williams can recognise me in an instant Xavier said in a thick voice. He had intentionally not brought Derek with him to this trip because Maxwell had people tailing him and had instead made him sit it out.
He has suffered a huge loss because of this chit in front of him, and it is time for him to pay her back for all she had done to him.
Fiona has never been afraid in her entire life. Sitting in front of her is a flesh peddler and a murderer.
Someone who is the nightmare of her lover and she as she had made herself an enemy of the man.
From the corner of her eyes, she saw the way Cassie shifted but she shook her head slightly at her sister not to cause a ruckus.
You’ve caused quite the uproar on the internet and now seeing me you can’t talk, Xavier cocked his head in mock.
You are nothing but a whiny little child Xavier mocked her, making her angry.
You don’t scare me Xavier Fiona said calmly despite all she was feeling inside. You don’t intimidate me.
You walk into my company like someone who owns the world just to make a poor attempt to make me feel less or fearful in front of you.
Now take your warning back yourself Xavier, the next time you come in front of me, I will be sending you to jail and there you will never see the daylight again.
Xavier mused at her outburst, he had seen the surprise and the sudden fear in her eyes earlier and now her eyes held stubbornness and anger.
An anger that feeds his soul.
No, this woman is the total opposite of Maxwell. No wonder she was able to beat him.
Maxwell may be a genius but his impulsiveness always got the best of him which made it easier for Xavier to manipulate him.
But the woman sitting in front of him is too calm and unyielding. Her eyes gave away nothing as she stared at him coldly.
Wanting to test her he shot a look at Cassie in a meaning that reads clear to Fiona.
He was going to scare her using Cassie, she thought. She felt a cold shiver run down her spine and she was about to lose her resolve when Cassie stood up from her seat.
And walked to him instead. Hello Xavier I am Cassie Williams and that's there, she pointed to Fiona as my sister.
Xavier smiled at her bravery. These girls are sure of something he thought.
He raised his hands towards her but Cassie swatted it like she would fly. Her green eyes bore into his own.
You see something about criminals like you is that you feel yourself too much and you often get proud.
You waltz in here like some king and sit there trying to use me to get to my sister. What a childish move. No wonder Fiona was able to best you three months ago.
The great Xavier is just a big bully with nothing to show for it, she tutted making him flare.
This little minx. Don’t you… He started to warn her but Fiona had it.
I think it is time for you to leave the premises, or I will call the cops.
I am quite sure you will be entertained for trying to harass two little girls, especially the ones who made your life a living hell for the past three months.
Xavier turned to look at Fiona. His plan had backfired. He wanted to size her up and make her fear him using whatever means he knew could affect her but it has done the opposite.
Where did Maxwell meet a woman with such tenacity? She looks meek but she is fierce all the same which makes him unable to decipher her.
I will come back later, he said to her then left the office with the masked man.
The heck! Cassie said when they left the office.
Fiona let out a shaky breath and sat down on her chair. He is intimidating, Fiona said with a small laugh.
Fiona, they heard Maxwell’s voice from the entrance. Are you alright? He asked immediately after he got to her.
He didn’t do anything to you, he asked. Then, picked her up to check for himself.
I am alright, Fiona said to him calmly. He tried to threaten me using Cassie. When Maxwell heard this he felt his heart stop a bit then turned to Cassie.
Are you alright? He asked tugging her hand to him. Cassie is just like a little sister to him.
I am fine, Cassie responded to him. Maxwell tugged her in a brotherly embrace. You are so brave, he muttered under his breath making her smile.
You need to see how your badass Fiance dealt with him, Cassie bragged about her sister making Max chuckle.
I am just glad you two are okay, his voice sounding.
He sat down on the couch Cassie had stood from and then asked what happened.
Before Fiona could say a word Cassie jumped to it and explained the whole ordeal to him.
He stared at Fiona in a different light than he used to. No, she isn’t a meek lady and he has long underestimated her which he now sees as not being good on his part.
No, this woman cannot easily fall for anyone. It isn’t her style.
I don’t know what you are made of. He looked at the woman who sat composedly behind her desk.
Let’s go find something to eat, he said suddenly. This thing is taking a toll on me.
That’s right Cassie chimed after him.
I need to oversee the costumes Ahn is sending in today, Fiona said, making Maxwell frown. Seeing the irritation on his face she complied gently.
Having a meal won’t hurt, she said, raising her hand.
