Chapter One Hundred and Fifty

I don’t know if he would be in a rush to have you in his home. Fiona chuckles at her sister.

Oh! Cassie sighed in bliss. Ever since he proposed he had been so sweet. I mean I don’t know how to say this but he wants us to get married immediately after he finishes his school.

Hmm… Fiona pouted I never knew I would be giving my little sister away so soon,

Don’t sass me, sister. Yours is just around the corner.

Right! Around the corner, she said sadly. What is wrong with you? Cassie asked her.

You look sad. I don’t know Fiona shrugged. He is feeling insecure especially now that he has a problem birthing a child.

He shouldn’t, Cassie chimed.

He doesn’t trust you, well that is his problem she huffed angrily. I don’t know what his problem is.

If he has a syndrome you didn’t cause it. Rather, you are helping him overcome it. Why would he blame you for his lack of tact?

Fiona had missed her she thought. Her quirkiness, her temper. Her love for her and the slow plyful smile and now she’s grown so much that she is now getting married.

Can I see your ring? Fiona asked changing the subject.

Don’t change the subject Cassie said in annoyance making Fiona laugh.

And wipe that smirk off your face, yes ma’am Fiona said trying to reign in her grin.

You didn’t ask why he was that way. What if it was my fault?

You? I don’t believe it.

Well… Fiona explained the situation with Ahn to her and the position they were in when Maxwell caught them.

You did what? You allowed him to just touch you so frivolously and you justify your actions by saying he looks hurt you don’t want to add to it.

If you added to it who would blame you? Cassie asked her.

Now the anger had been redirected Fiona mused to herself. I didn’t think Cass I just felt pushing him off like that wasn’t the best solution at the time.

Have you settled the scores with him now?

Yes… I…

Fiona, there is a visitor who wants to see you, Lillian said from the door.

A visitor? Fiona wandered. I didn’t give anyone an appointment today. She said to her.

Should I just send them away then? Lillian asked.

No, it's fine to have them sent to me. Should I excuse you? Cassie asked her.

No, please. I don’t know who is coming so I need you to keep a look out for me.

Sure, Cassie nodded then sat on the couch that is now in her office.

Two men enter the office wearing a long aristocratic overcoat that made Cassie think they came from a Forbes magazine.

Welcome gentlemen Fiona greeted them politely. Their presence felt daunting and intimidating making her squirm uncomfortably.

Something is not right here, she thought but she kept her face blank while Cassie sat up on her chair.

Please seat Fiona gestured to the chairs in front of her.

After the men sat, Fiona realised how elegant and intimidating they truly were.

One has his eyes half covered while the other looks older yet dangerous. His expressive eyes made her gulp.

Those eyes looked familiar she thought but she couldn’t place them.

Welcome once again Fiona said with a smile adorning her face. She felt scared but she needed to maintain her professional image in front of the stranger.

And one thing she noticed was that despite her welcoming and professionalism none of them had spoken a word to her since they sat.

The older man sat sizing her up while the one with the mask just sat there emotionless.

Hello Ms. Williams he spoke finally making her turn rigid.

She recognises that voice anywhere even though they have only spoken once.

Hello, Xavier Fiona breathed.

Maxwell doubled his effort on both his work and treatment.

Time has never felt this close to slipping out of his hands. The rage he felt since Cassie’s wedding was still there but a lot of it had gone down a notch.

Ahn Cowell is a witty man who has a clear vision of what he wants. His patience is also something Maxwell had envied all his life.

The man is so patient yet he never lets an opportunity pass him by.

Him having his eyes on Fiona was a dent in his strides. Maxwell sighed loudly while he read the documents in his hand.

Ahn Cowell, he thought. The man is a tough nut to crack, thinking about the close proximity he shared annoys the fuck out of him.

And the words they spoke to each other made him furious. As he thought about the possibility of them sharing a space together during the upcoming contest again he threw his file on the table in vexed.

I have to do something about it he thought.

What if Fiona fell for his charms along the line and forgot about him? Not to mention the fact that he had recently offended her a lot.

What is she started crying on his shoulder and Ahn used the opportunity to get close to her.

No, he said out loud gaining attention from his assistant.

Fiona has always been upright she won’t fall for Ahn so easily, the thought of her liking anyone except him left a bad taste on his tongue.

First, it was Turner and now Ahn has somehow fused himself into the picture and what’s worse Fion barely has time for him like before.

All she goes on about is the harping of that damn gym she owns.

Now her sponsors are increasing so is the gym. She keeps expanding and accommodating.

She has collected new faces to stand as teachers to the children.

And yet she still goes to the dance room despite Daisy, the ballet teacher being there with her.

I need to head out, he said to his assistant. His thoughts are becoming scattered by the moment. He felt he needed some air.

And just when he was about to step out he received a call from Fiona which elated his mood but as soon as he received it the tone he heard from the other side was alarming
