Sonia said her goodbyes to Mr wally as she knew that these will be the last time she will be see him. After Mr wally left Sonia immediately clean refrigerator and removed all the leftover food and supplies from the fridge to the waste bin and she brought out the food Mrs Rina cook for her and placed it in the refrigerator. Sonia clean her apartment as she arranged her clothes in order as she knew that she needed to go find a job the moment Layla comes. Sonia came out of her apartment because she needed to dispose the trash and as she was walking down stairs, Sonia saw her before land Lady and her friends come and she greeted them as they were her elders and she needed to show respect and more importantly was that they were people that she didn't want to stay too long with.
“ Oh Sonia you are back?” the land lady said as she stared at Sonia with a smile.
“Sonia did you get a rich guy because the last time I saw you, had expensive car cane to pick you up and now that the same expensive car came to drop you off too” one of the old lady said as she was curious to know what was happening in these young lady life. Since Sonia came to these apartment, she had never make friends with her age mate as she was always going to school and always coming back in the money. The young lady was so mysterious that everyone wanted to know more about her since she was beautiful girl but nobody could get anything about these girl.
“I also heard that since the building was bought by had unknown buyer, Sonia was the only one that does not pay house rent” another old lady said as she too was curious to know if Sonia knew the new landlord that didn’t bother showing his face to his tenant not even once. The only reason a person won't pay rent was if the person knew the land lord and they wondered how Sonia was able to know such a wealthy person. Sonia who was listening to them was surprised that she hasn't even fully settled down in her home fully and these ladies were already given her questions that she didn't want to answer. No matter how one will think about it, even her will be curious to know why one person wasn't paying rent in the building but Sonia did not like the way they were preying into her business and she knew that the moment she gave them the answers they desperately wanted. They will spread her matter to other tenants and she would be the talk of the building.
“I don't know why, maybe am just lucky” Sonia said as she didn't want them to know anything about her life because she didn't trust them and it was better for her that way. She knew that these old ladies were gossip woman and since they knew nothing about her, it was enticing for them as the more secret the more they wanted to know and it was as if they had no good use for there old age but to gossip about.
“ Luck won't get you a free house but something else” one of the old woman said as she did not like the answer Sonia gave and ge didn't know why Sonia was so secretive about her life.
“Maybe she is sleeping with the new landlord that's why a young girl with no family has a free house” one of the old lady said as she too did like the answer Sonia gave and no matter how they see it. This was the possible reason Sonia why Sonia was now staying in a free house as offering oneself was the best than anything. And to top it, Sonia was a beauty who was attracting so many man.
“That's right she is slee6with the new landlord and dear to give us such a answer” one of the old lady said as she sneered as she was surprised that for m the answer Sonia could come up with, Sonia decided to pick Lucky as her answer.
“ Your old age hasn't stop you from discussing other people personal life, please leave the poor girl alone” the former landlady said as she didn't know why they were to persistent in knowing how Sonia was able to get a free house. To the land lady, she didn't care because she could see that Sonia was a good girl and also she knew that Sonia was going through a lot because a university student with no support was hard enough for her.
“ Why are you defending her, she's not your daughter or relative” one of the old woman said as she stared at the former land lady with curiosity in her eyes.
“It doesn't matter who she is to me but what matters is that you old ladies should not disturb the poor girl anymore. Am sorry about my friends, sometimes they are just curious about people's life because they are bored and old” the former land lady said as she wanted to apologize on behalf of her friends who was trying to know more about Sonia.
“ It alright, I will take my leave now” Sonia said as she didn't want to stay there any more as it will only prolong their curiosity about her. Sonia quickly head downstairs as the old ladies stared at her but she didn't mind because they could only stared but they can't harm her. Sonia entered her apartment as she disposed the trash in the waste bin and as she was about to rest on the bed, Sonia heard a knock on her door. Sonia wondered who was knocking on her door as she has no friend in the building. Sonia opened the door and to her surprise it wS Layla, Sonia knew Layla was coming but she was surprised because she knew that class was still on and Layla being here was enough to know that she had skipped lecture to come see her.
“Why are you here, it's nor yet time” Sonia said as she give way for Layla to enter as it was as if the moment Layla saw her message, she quickly left lecture and came here.
“To see you of course and is it really true that Margaret was hospitalized and you were told by Antonio grandfather to leave the mansion” Layla said as the moment she saw the message, she was shocked as all these happened in one night.
“ Yes, and the worst was that Antonio confess that he didn't love me and he didn't even object to me leaving” Sonia said as even though she was trying to forget about his words by indulging herself in work. Sonia could not shake the look on his face when he uttered those words in front of his family.
“I told you that loving a man like Antonio was a disease but I am quite surprised because you are taking the no love well than I anticipated” Layla said as she was surprised that Sonia was not crying at the moment.
