Chapter 296 The appearance of Grandpa Jordan!

Chapter 296 The appearance of Grandpa Jordan!
Allan stood frozen in place. Suddenly, his grandfather anxiously pulled the ear of his favorite grandson and the one who annoyed him so many times.

"You stupid boy! I tried many times to save your relationship but many times you destroyed it! If it wasn't for you, my grandson, I would have opened your head and thrown it into the gutter! Let the rats eat it!" said Grandpa Jordan who had come to Allan's mansion.

"Owww! It hurts! Kek! Please don't be like this, I've grown up! I even have a cute daughter now! Do you know?" Allan asked excitedly but was not answered by the grandfather.

"Wait a minute, why do I feel like you're not surprised at all? Did you know beforehand?" Allan frowned.

"And what does it mean that you saved my relationship so many times, huh? I don't understand! Is there something you've been hiding all this time? Is that right?" asked Allan, becoming more and more suspicious of his grandfather's behavior.

Instead of answering, Grandpa Jordan stood upright as if looking for something and was surprised to see the room in disarray. Sam was seen calling some servants to clean it up. Sam nodded respectfully before ordering the servants to clear up the mess.

"Ceck! Ceck! Is this all you can do, Allan? Break something? Don't answer! Where is Eve? Where's my great-granddaughter Aleena? We were supposed to meet a while ago, but she didn't show up, that's why I'm here! I was worried she would leave again! Turns out I was right!" the grandfather asked, wandering around.

"Lee! Find out the whereabouts of Eve and her daughter! Mobilize all our people if necessary! I don't know why I have a feeling that something is wrong here! It's unusual for Eve to break her promise without confirmation!" said the grandfather to his assistant who always accompanied him.

"Yes, great sir! I'll also have someone check the surveillance cameras in front of this house!" Mr Lee said respectfully.

"Well, do that! I'm sure this idiot wouldn't think of doing that!" said the grandfather.

Mr Lee nodded once more and then stepped aside slightly.

Grandpa Jordan picked up something, a paper that Allan had dropped earlier.

"It's from Eve, grandpa! She left that letter! She's gone grandpa! Wait a minute, what did you mean that you were going to meet a while ago? Do you see each other often? No way! Eve just got back, Grandpa! And there are too many problems between us and there's no way she'll have time to see Grandpa! Hahahaha...." Allan laughed discordantly.

The grandfather turned around and looked at Allan. Allan was surprised and drew an unexpected conclusion, "So it's true, you guys meet often? I mean, how come? When? Where?"

Allan looked shocked when the grandfather read the letter from Eve slowly, but the grandfather was a little bit as soon as he read the first sentence.

To:
Allan My Husband

Thank you for loving me so deeply, I really didn't expect it. I was wrong all along, I thought you would never love me, I thought you would always be bound and entangled by your past memories with Jessica.

I am so grateful and proud to be loved by such a great man as Allan Watson! I'm sorry that I left with our daughter all this time! I thought you would never admit it, but your love for her really moved me.

I'm sorry, but I need time. I need to regain my composure, to organize my heart so that I can trust you again! Aleena is also very hurt! I'll try to give her some understanding.

Please give us some space to heal this wound. And until everything comes back to light.

Signed by your wife
Eve

The grandfather looked down at Allan. "Eve is leaving! She wants to heal her wounds! She didn't forgive me, Grandpa!" Allan said sobbing and knelt down and put his head on his grandfather's lap exactly when he was a child.

He stroked her hair but it wasn't long before he knocked her head.

Tuk!

Tuk!

Allan shouted, "Grandpa! It hurts! I know I was wrong! I've done everything to get Eve back to me! But it's all in vain, Grandpa! Don't you add to my misery by hitting me! I can't afford to lose Eve and my daughter again, Grandpa! Help me...."

"I hit you because you're stupid! She didn't mean to leave! Didn't you read the letter carefully? You idiot! She just wanted to come to my place! That's what she meant by healing her wounds! But I don't know why she didn't get to our family residence! I'm even more convinced that there's something going on here!" said the grandfather, annoyed and looking worried.

"You mean grandfather? But she left! Sam said she packed her clothes too! It's a sign that she intends to leave! Did Eve go back to Paris, Grandpa?" Allan looked worriedly at his grandfather as he wiped away his tears.

"You idiot! I told you! She didn't leave! Did she bring her suitcase?" he asked again.

Allan shook his head, "No Grandpa!"

"Good! That's a sign she has no intention of leaving! At least without your consent! But I wonder where she is now? What's going on? Have you checked the surveillance cameras in all the rooms of this house?" asked his grandfather.

Allan shook his head, "Not at all! I didn't have time! I was about to leave! I guess...the camera in their room I haven't checked yet! But...isn't that privacy, right?"

"Stupid kid! At this time you're still thinking about that? Check it immediately! So that we know what's really going on here!" Said the grandfather firmly.

"Okay, Grandpa! Sam! Check the surveillance camera in Eve's room and give me a copy!" Allan shouted back.

"Yes sir!" Not long after, Sam went towards Allan's bodyguard to the side room where the surveillance camera footage of the whole house was stored.

As Sam left and waited for the results, Allan asked his grandfather, "You haven't answered my question yet!"

He took another deep breath and let it out.

"Sit down, I have something to tell you! It's about time you found out about this! I have kept this secret for many years, since Eve left almost four years ago." said the grandfather.

"What do you mean?" asked Allan again.

"All I can say is, I may be old, but I'm not stupid Allan! I also know that you guys had a contract marriage and Eve was willing to do it to help her sick sister...." The grandfather stopped Allan was about to interrupting him, but the grandfather gave a code.

"Don't interrupt me, Allan! Or you'll never know what really happened! Forever! Let me finish my story!" grandpa said again, making Allan shut his mouth.

"But when I saw you guys hugging I knew...she was a very nice girl and you were already in love but you didn't realize it! And when you introduced her I was already sure she was the future granddaughter-in-law. I wanted to keep my stupid grandson company! Long story short I did some investigating and found out everything! I was angry but I was happy when I saw you register your marriage and you looked happy! Even though you didn't realize it yourself! Until...because of your stupidity...Eve left....and I searched for her whereabouts...and found her! She was struggling in her growing pregnancy! Eve worked odd jobs day and night to support herself and the baby she was carrying at the time! Sometimes she sold paintings on the side of the road in Paris, sometimes she was in a market selling her favors just to be able to eat! Sometimes she painted the faces of tourists for a small fee near the Eiffel tower! And there's so much more I'm sure you'll never imagine! I helped her secretly...Eve never knew, I'm sure she would have rejected it if I had come to her aid directly! And I..." the grandfather took a deep breath, it was difficult to tell something sad about Eve.

While Allan continued to look down, his tears began to fall one by one.
