Chapter 294 A Call from a Mysterious Person!
Eve turned her head and hurriedly wiped her tears when she realized who had come to her room without knocking first.
"Mummy? Are you crying? I was waiting for you, but you didn't come down! It turns out Mummy is still in this room! Is the drama very sad, Mummy?" Aleena entered the room and walked slowly over to the Mummy who was still looking away and wiping away her tears.
Eve smiled at her daughter's question.
"No dear, I think something got into my eye and made it hurt! Sorry, were you looking for me, dear?" Eve said again.
But Aleena suddenly fell silent as she stared at the television screen where her Daddy could be seen, seemingly saying 'Did her Daddy make her Mummy cry again?'
Aleena looked sadly at Eve, and Eve, realizing this, hurriedly switched off the live broadcast.Eve didn't want Aleena to know why she was sad. But it was too late, Aleena already knew. Aleena grabs the remote and goes back to watching the live broadcast, right at the last second when Allan looks upset and angry when a reporter asks again about Jessica's pregnancy. And Allan challenged her if she would take a DNA test on the pregnancy and confirm that it was not his child.
Eve snatched the remote back from her daughter and switched off the live broadcast.
"No need to watch! It's not important!" Eve exclaimed as she walked back to finish putting her and Aleena's belongings into a large bag.
"What does the DNA test mean Mummy? Is it the same test that Daddy did to me?" asked Aleena suddenly.
Eve, who was busy packing her suitcase, stopped. Eve was silent, 'How did Aleena know about this? Did she overhear their conversation about Allan asking her to come back with the DNA test results, so that Allan would know that Aleena was his daughter? So her daughter wasn't really asleep at the time, was she?'
Eve took a breath of air to fill her tightening chest cavity and then turned around with a smile, "How did Aleena know about the DNA test, dear?"
"I saw the DNA test papers in Mummy's room in our apartment! It says Daddy is my real father! Does that mean...Daddy...will do the test again for his son, Mummy? Is that right? Daddy has another child? But not from Mummy? From the evil Auntie?" Aleena exclaimed as she began to sob.
Eve fell silent again, frozen in place.
But Eve was relieved to find out that Aleena knew the words not from the conversation between Eve and Allan in Eve's apartment when Allan asked her to come back to him, but because of her carelessness in putting something on the paper that Allan had given her. Eve was really careless!
"So it's true, apparently! Daddy doesn't love us anymore Mummy? Daddy's going to throw us away like before, Mummy? Bad Daddy! I don't like it here! I want to go back to Paris Mummy! Let's go home! Where it's just Mummy, me, and Aunty Narti!" Aleena started to cry.
Eve turned around and hugged her daughter. Eve didn't know what to say, because she didn't know the truth! It was all too painful for them, especially Aleena.
"It's not like that, honey...Daddy's not bad! Daddy just..." Eve said, trying to find the right words.
"Just don't love us! Isn't that right Mummy?" said Aleena sobbing and crying in her Mummy's arms.
"Honey...Daddy loves Aleena...Daddy just..." she tried to explain again, but Aleena snapped back.
"Daddy just doesn't love Mummy, does he? If Daddy doesn't love Mummy, then neither do I! I don't love Daddy! Let's go back to Paris, Mummy! I want to go home!" Aleena continued to sob as she shook her Mummy's shoulder.
"Je veux rentrer à la maison! Paris me manque! Il n'y a pas de mauvaises personnes là-bas! (I want to go home! I miss Paris! There are no bad people there!)" Aleena exclaimed with tears in her eyes.
"Ne sois pas comme ça Aleena! Écoute, on retourne à Paris! Mais plus tard! Et arrête de parler français! On est en Nouvelle-Zélande! Utilise ton anglais! (Don't be like that, Aleena! Listen, we're going back to Paris! But later! And stop speaking French! We're in New Zealand! Use your English!" Eve looked annoyed she wanted to explain something but Aleena was so stubborn she wouldn't listen.
"Does Mummy hate me now too, Mummy? Mummy doesn't love me anymore? Are you angry with me?" Aleena looked at her mummy with a sad look in her eyes.
"Oh, dear...I'm sorry! It's not like that, but just be patient, okay? We promised to meet Grandpa today, didn't we? What if Grandpa is sad, if he doesn't see us there? Would Aleena want to disappoint Grandpa?" Eve explained the ending in a different way.
Aleena paused and remembered her grandfather and looked back at her Mummy, Aleena shook her head.
"No! Grandpa was very good to me and Mummy! Not like Daddy! I miss Grandpa!" Aleena exclaimed as she wiped away her tears.
Eve took a deep breath, "Alright, then we'll go after Daddy gets home, okay?"
Aleena looked down again and shook her head, "I don't want to, Mummy! I don't like Daddy! I want to go to Grandpa! Grandpa!"
' Yes dear, but later. Now, Aleena plays first, okay?" Eve was still trying to persuade Aleena Eve wanted to speak directly to Allan first. She had something to say about her decision.
"No, Mummy! Now! Now!" Aleena shouted, shaking her head.
"But...Aleena..." Eve's words were cut off when she heard the sound of her mobile phone.
"Ah, who else is calling me! Mummy will take the call first, dear? We'll talk again!" Eve pressed the green button. She was surprised to see Aleena stomping her foot in annoyance and running out of the room.
"Aleena, wait a minute, don't run, Aleena!" Eve was about to switch off her mobile phone and chase after Aleena when she heard a voice on the other side.
"Hahaha...is your daughter upset with her Daddy, Eve? Ah, I think so! Especially if she saw the live broadcast earlier, right? That little girl must be angry! Poor thing!" said a female voice on the other side.
"Don't be presumptuous! You don't know anything! Who is this?" Eve exclaimed in annoyance that the number was unfamiliar to her.
"I have some exciting news about the truth about the news Eve! Especially about Jessica! If you want to know, then come! Come to the Johnsonville Road area there is a restaurant there "Mama's Sizzler Restaurant & Bar" I will wait for you there! Come, or you'll regret it!" the woman exclaimed and hung up.
"Hello! Hello! What are you talking about! Hey! The connection is switched off! Shit! Should I come? But who is she? Why does her voice sound so familiar? What should I do?"
Eve looked at her mobile phone with some confusion.
'Who was that person exactly? What did she have to say about Jessica? Just curious!' Eve's heart said.
Not yet out of shock, Eve jumped in surprise, as her mobile phone rang again.
Eve looked down at her mobile phone as
she spoke and hesitated slightly, "Is this it...Should I take the call? But..."
