Chapter 291 I hope you're watching, Eve!
This morning Allan hurriedly ate his food alone. Allan took another breath, he didn't see Eve and Aleena. His heart felt empty, that's why he wanted to finish his meal sooner.
Allan was about to go upstairs again, to see how Eve and Aleena were doing, but he hesitated. Whether his decision this time was the right one or not. Allan knew Eve was still hurt and Aleena was still disappointed with him. Allan didn't want to make things worse, so he decided against it.
Allan called Sam, Sam came hurriedly.
"Can I help you, sir?" asked Sam with a slight bow.
"Sam, aren't Eve and Aleena down for breakfast?" asked Allan as he glanced up although he was certain he wouldn't see anything but he did anyway.
Sam felt sorry for his master, it was obvious that Allan was also sleep deprived, under his eyes were some bags. 'He must be thinking about yesterday! Poor Mr Watson! But what can we do? Hopefully he can sort it out today!
"I'm sorry, sir, Madam had ordered that their food be brought up early this morning because .... she said they didn't come down for breakfast this morning! I'm sorry, sir! I tried to persuade Madam but she refused! She'd rather not eat if she has to eat with,.…You, sir!" Sam felt bad about relaying Eve's message but she had to do it anyway.
Allan let out his breath, "It's okay Sam if that's what they want. Just go along with it! Hopefully today Eve will understand! Please tell her, so she can watch TV this morning! I will solve this problem as soon as possible!"
"Yes, sir! I'll tell her!" said Sam again.
"Alright, I'm off! Bert is waiting for me! Thanks for breakfast, Sam!" said Allan while trying to smile.
Sam nodded his head. "You're welcome sir! Sorry, will you be back for lunch, sir?"
Allan who was about to walk away smiled, "Well, make it something special, Sam! We'll have something to celebrate when I get back! Please also tell Eve that after watching the broadcast, to wait for me at home! I won't be long! Oh, yes and fulfill whatever it is that Eve and my daughter want! I'm off! Please take care of them for me!"
"Yes, sir! Take care on the road, sir!" Sam said kindly. "Oh, my God. I wish everything would go back to the way it was yesterday, sir! I hope Madame can forgive you and understand! And young lady Aleena too! It's so sad to see you like this! Just a few days ago, you looked like a happy little family! Please forgive my impertinence, sir! I'm just saying what I feel and I wish the best for your family!"
Allan turned to Sam with a stiff smile, "I hope so too, Sam! That's what I hope too, Sam! Let's hope things get better!"
Allan wiped the sweat from his exhausted face with one hand as he looked up at Eve's room.
"Take care of the house, Sam! I'm on my way!"
"Goodbye, sir!"
Quickly after that Allan went out to the car that was waiting for him in front of the house. Allan got into his luxury car and the car drove away from Allan's house slowly.
After a while Allan arrived at his destination, this time the press conference was held in a hotel ballroom owned by Allan not far from his office. Bert originally wanted to set up at their office but then he changed his mind and made it impromptu at one of Allan's hotels. Considering Bert had invited so many journalists from both television and print media. That's why Bert needed a bigger room.
Allan tidied up his formal attire before getting out of his car. Allan's face looked very tense and there was no hint of friendliness.
Bert welcomed him in front of the hotel lobby. When Allan entered it turned out that in front of the hotel lobby there were already several journalists there.
They were busy approaching Allan, unfortunately Allan was like untouched! Allan brought several bodyguards with him to protect him on each side of his left and right so as to form a blockade so that Allan could walk without being disturbed.
"Please sir! Everything is ready and waiting for you!" Exclaimed Bert who saw his master tense up and stiffened.
"Thank you, Bert! Oh, yes, have you also brought the person? Are Tom and my lawyer there too?" asked Allan again.
"Yes, sir! Everything is ready! Hmm....except...your grandfather! I dare not tell him! Should we..." Bert hesitated a little.
Allan stopped walking for a moment. "Does grandpa know about this, Bert?"
Bert hesitantly nodded his head, "I think so, sir! There's no way your grandfather doesn't know about this big news! The whole country knows about this news, maybe the whole world does too, sir! Because the news was spread on social media! It seems like Miss Jessica deliberately spread it by personally inviting reporters and giving testimonies, so it could be publicized. That's why I think your grandfather...couldn't possibly not know! I think...he's waiting to see what you're going to do this time!"
Allan clenched his hands into fists.
"That damn woman!"
Allan tried to regulate his emotions by exhaling, very heavily. The one thing he had been avoiding was disappointing his grandfather, even though he had also disappointed him by pretending to be engaged to Jessica again and letting her spread the fake news.
"Let it go! Let him know! Sooner or later, he'll either find out or ask me, so it's better to speed it up!" Allan said.
"Yes, sir! I hope your grandfather can understand and support you this time, sir!" exclaimed Bert feeling sorry for Allan. Since Eve left Allan's relationship with his grandfather had deteriorated a bit, they would only talk about office matters! The rest, never at all!
"I hope so too, Bert! I'm tired of all this! I also don't want my wife and daughter to be disappointed and leave me this time!" Allan said, a little dreamy.
"I understand, sir! Are you ready?" asked Bert before opening the ballroom door.
"Already! I must be ready!" said Allan again firmly.
"Then, please sir!" Bert opened the ballroom door wide.
Allan took a breath before entering the huge room that was already packed with journalists and guests.
When the door opened, all eyes turned back and stared at Allan, Allan stared forward and stepped steadily, as the camera shots continued to capture Allan's presence.
Allan continued to stare straight ahead, without turning his head at all as if he was not disturbed by the many camera shots and flash lights from the journalists.
There was also a long table in front where Allan could see several familiar faces waiting.
Several people were waiting and pulling at the chair Allan was about to sit in. Allan looked around. His eyes cast a deadly glare at everyone who was watching him at the moment.
'Eve..I hope you hear and see al
l this, Eve! I hope you believe what I'm about to say to the whole world...'
