Chapter 287 Narti's Arrival and Eve's Cry?
After the incident where Eve was taken with Aleena to Allan's mansion, Eve was forced to follow the wishes of Allan and his daughter, they were temporarily living in Allan's large mansion. Even though Eve refuses very firmly to share a room with Allan and prefers to sleep with Aleena in her room. And thankfully Allan didn't impose his will, he tried to understand Eve.
For the past three days, Eve has been staying at Allan's house, and her plan to spend only one night has turned into more than one night. Eve couldn't bear the whining of Aleena who always asked them to stay there longer, because she still wanted to play with her Daddy.
So Allan took some time off and spent the last few days with Aleena. Sometimes they played horses, joked at the dinner table, swam, had picnics behind Allan's house, and Allan even took her for a tour in his heli. Sometimes Eve feels like she's being left out.
Eve knew Aleena had a deep longing for the father figure that Eve had been unable to provide. But that sense of abandonment still came up.
Like right now Eve took a deep breath and exhaled when she saw Aleena back swimming with her Daddy, and Eve refused to join them.
As Eve was watching them from a distance, Narti came and surprised her.
"Dor!!! Hey, who are you watching? Why are you just standing there?! Ah, I think I know...Mr Watson?" Narti flashed a smile.
Eve smiled wryly and patted her best friend and employee on the shoulder, "That's you! Surprising me! Of course not! I was just watching them together! Oh, yes, by the way, what brings you here? Is there something important you want to talk about? If so, let's go to Allan's office down here! There's no way you're just visiting to see my condition, right? Especially since you didn't contact me before!"
Narti smiled embarrassedly, "It seems like you understand me very well, Eve! I have something to talk about the interior design that you made some time ago, some workers have been working on it but I want you to see the result! I don't know...I feel something is missing! Maybe you can take a look? They sent us a video, and...I also need you to sign something, Eve! But is it okay if we borrow Allan's office? Shouldn't we ask for his approval first?"
Narti was a little hesitant about Eve's suggestion.
"No problem, that room has been turned into a book and reading room now, Allan spends more time talking about his business on the 3rd floor in his bigger office, so the work room downstairs is practically never used except for reading! Come on, let's go there!" exclaimed Eve as she walked.
The room was in the same hallway as the room Eve had stayed in when she had been cranky and angry with Allan, the guest room not far away was Allan's study which had been converted into a reading room.
Halfway there she met Sam, Allan's loyal butler.
"Mr Sam! Can I ask you a favor, Mr Sam?" Eve asked kindly.
Sam turned his head and smiled warmly, "Of course, Madam What can I do for you?"
Eve exhaled heavily, Mr Sam had always been warned by her not to call her Madam, but Mr Sam never wanted to and still called her by that title. Finally Eve chose to give up and not bring it up again.
"How many times have I told you not to call me Madam, Mr Sam! But, never mind, it's up to you, it's useless for me to talk! You definitely won't obey! Oh, yes please bring drinks and some snacks for us and please deliver them to Allan's office there. Can you do that for me?" asked Eve while indicating the room in question.
"Forgive me, Madam! I dare not address you by name alone! It is Mr Watson's order, Madam. Does Madam mean the book room? The reading room?" Mr Sam spoke while trying to confirm.
"Ah, yes! That's what I meant! Ah, so Allan ordered you! Yes, I'll talk to him later. And please also tell them that if they come looking for me I'll be there, okay? I mean my daughter!" said Eve, emphasizing something.
"Okay, Mistress. I'll bring it! I'll have one of the servants bring the reading room!" exclaimed Mr Sam as he bowed slightly.
"Thank you, Mr Sam for your help!" said Eve sincerely.
"No problem, madam, it's not a big deal! Excuse me then Madam, and...Miss..." Pak Sam didn't really know Narti's name by heart because they had only met twice.
"I'm Narti, Mr Sam!" Narti said politely.
"Yes, Miss Narti! Excuse me, the waiter will bring it for you!" exclaimed Pak Sam respectfully, stepping back and then turning around.
"He's very polite and kind, Eve! It seems like he loves and respects you too! Are you good friends?" asked Narti while following Eve's steps beside her.
"Mr Sam is really nice! Back when I was here, he was the only person I could trust and respect like my own father. Let's go in!" said Eve, pulling the door of Allan's reading room wide.
Narti nodded her head.
"Oh, how appropriate! You guys look so familiar!" she exclaimed and sat down on a chair in front of a large table, Allan's desk.
"Well, there you have it...!" Eve exclaimed, closing the door again as she was about to enter the room.
Eve immediately sat on a chair with a desk right across from Narti.
"Do you have any documents to sign?" Eve asked back.
Narti opened her big bag, "Sure! Here it is! I need your signature here, and here!" Narti opened a big tab and showed the part that Eve should sign.
Eve quickly signed it without reading it. Of course, this made Narti confused.
"Aren't you going to read it first, Eve?" Narti asked.
Eve smiled as she stood up and closed the big envelope and handed it to Narti.
"No need, Narti! I trust you! How long have we been friends? Not one or two years, right? More than three years! And you've always been honest with me! So what should I doubt?" said Eve, patting her best friend's shoulder.
"Alright, Eve! I'm so thankful you've trusted me all this time! I won't let you down! I can guarantee that! Oh, would you like to see the document and the video I mentioned earlier?" Narti exclaimed with certainty.
"Later, it can wait. I know, Narti, I can trust you! Ok forget it, I have something to talk to you about! Can we sit down on that sofa?" Eve pointed again.
"Sure. About what?" Narti asked, putting in her documents and sitting next to Eve.
Eve exhaled her breath heavily.
"About...my relationship with Allan!" Eve said weakly.
Narti straightened up and looked seriously at Eve, "What's wrong with your relationship? Is there something serious? I see you guys are fine, right? What's the problem now? Damian I heard is already in the process of being tried in his military, Claire also seems to have received her punishment even though she didn't accept it and asked the lawyer not to arrest her! Your uncle also seems to be angry with you, but he can't reach you Eve! So, what's your problem now? You're getting back together, aren't you? Aleena needs you, Eve!" said Narti, holding Eve's back.
Eve was silent for a moment and looked down, as if she was considering something.
Narti squeezed Eve's fingers again to give her strength, "Don't you love Allan, Eve?"
Narti's question successfully made Eve raise her head to look at Narti. Eve's eyes started to glaze over.
"Hey! What's wrong? Why are you crying? It doesn't matter if you don't love him, but..." Narti said, wiping away Eve's tears.
Eve shook her head, "That's not the case, Narti...I..."
Someone knocked on the door just as Eve was about to speak.
Knock!
Knock!
Both of them turned their heads towards the door that was opened slowly as they asked her to come in.
