Chapter 7 Chapter 7) More lies.

Chapter 7 Chapter 7) More lies.
“I-”.

“What pack are you from?”. He suddenly changed questions and asked her this.

But how was she supposed to reply to him when her face had turned purple from lack of air?

‘No. This can't continue to go on. I might die’. She gritted her teeth because he had ruined her plans for her.

She had planned on lying low and remaining in his pack until she regained her strength, but now that death came knocking, she would have to knock him down and save herself.

Without thinking much, she kicked him in his groin, causing his grip on her neck to instantly loosen as he fell to one of his knees on the ground. He groaned, with his face looking pale.

When he looked at Demira, his eyes darkened greatly. He couldn't believe what happened. For the first time in his life, someone dared to hit him, and the person turned out to be no other than a woman!

“I must get out of this place”. Demira muttered as she turned and ran away without turning back. She didn't know where she was going, but as long as it was away from Alejandro, that was enough for her.

Within just a short time of running, she grew exhausted and was running out of breath.

She was also sweating profoundly, and used the back of her hand to wipe off the sweat on her face.

“I can't believe that I have been reduced to this miserable state”. She said and went ahead to hold onto a tree. It turned out that she had not escaped the garden.

It was unfortunate that she had been running in circles with no way out. That alone was frustrating.

But did anyone have any idea what was more frustrating?

It was how someone grabbed her hand from behind and stopped her attempt of dragging her feet forward.

“Do you think that you could get away from me with that single move?”. Alejandro said to her and grabbed her neck tighter than before. He lifted her off the ground with the intention of killing her off this time.

“You know what? I don't care to know how you got yourself poisoned with the heart piercing poison. Neither do I care that a stranger like you became my mate”.

“You have trespassed on my garden, so you deserve to die”. He declared.

‘He knew that we were his mate but was only saying something about it now? He even hurt us! No, this is bad. You have to do something, Demira. We can't die here. We haven't avenged ourselves! We have not avenged our child!’.

Her wolf, Priscilla, yelled at her, and she felt the pain in her voice.

It gave her chills, but mostly, it gave her the urge not to die yet.

Not when she has not made Kayson pay for his crimes.

She has sworn not to die before that happens.

“Wai- wait!”. She forced herself to say and pleaded with him, because she had decided. No matter what, she was not going to be prideful if that was going to help her save her pitiful life.

“I am sorry, but you must spare my life! I didn't mean to trespass on your garden. I really got lost while trying to locate the kitchen for food”. She said, and her throat made a cracked choking sound.

She was dying for real, and would really die if he didn't let go.

“And the poison? How did you get poisoned? Who has poisoned you?”.

“It was-”. She tried to say but stopped talking to think.

Any mistake and her head might really be gone.

“Well?”.

Her eyes widened.

“It was Alpha Sam! He was the one who poisoned me because I had tried to run away after he forced me to become his secret lover!”. Demira thought quickly and replied to him.

{PS: Sam is the name of the tyrant Alpha}

“Interesting”. He said, and let go of her neck, making her gasp for air and fall to her knees.

Her body shivered, and her lips trembled. Even her eyes had started becoming blurry and was making it hard for her to see.

But despite this, he has not let her off the hook. He squatted in front of her and grabbed her chin as he made her stare at him.

“Is that all you have to say? How did you end up in Paradise City?”. He asked her.

“I-”.

“Speak properly”. He commanded and did not care about her pathetic state.

Sweat slid down both sides of her temples. “I found an opening and ran away from the Joaken pack. I ended up in Paradise City and didn't know what happened after that. I swear. I only woke up today and discovered that I had been rescued by the Lycan King. I wanted to go and thank him after having something to eat”.

She paused talking and lowered her gaze as she pitifully pouted her lips. Then, she sorrowfully added, as if in regret, “Unfortunately, I mistakenly trespassed on your garden. Please, forgive me. I am really sorry. So please, Mister, don’t kill me. I have suffered enough. I don't want to die”.

Outwardly, her expression was convincing, but inwardly, she was gritting her teeth behind the scene.

She hated how she had to lower her head, her pride, and was shamelessly begging him, who was her enemy, to spare her life.

This was the same thing she did when Alpha Sam was alive. She would always lower her pride and her self worth so that she wouldn't die.

She feared that one single misstep, and he would activate the heart piercing poison and have her killed.

But something has been stuck in her head ever since she woke up.

According to what Kayson said, how was she able to fight like that against Alpha Sam if the heart piercing poison was still in her body?

How did she do that?

Or, was the heart piercing poison not activated when she went against Alpha Sam?

She did not understand, but it was also a memory she wanted to forget.

It did not matter to her anymore how she had done it. What mattered was how she was going to achieve her revenge.

‘She is strange. Really strange. When I first saw her, I thought that she was a goner. She had been poisoned with the heart piercing poison, and the poison had been activated in her body’.

‘She ought to have died way before I crossed paths with her, but she was alive and trying to hold on’.

‘I have never seen such determination. No one had ever survived after the heart piercing poison was activated in their bodies. I brought her back with me, not only because of the strange stab I felt in my chest, but because of my curiosity’.

Alejandro thought, before he rose to his feet.

‘There is something about her which I must uncover. I have never seen my poison fail before. So until then, you are not allowed to die. Neither are you allowed to leave’.

“Fine. I will spare your life. You are not worth me killing anyway”. He said, then added, “Get up and find your way out of my garden now. You came here yourself, so you must leave yourself”.

‘Bastard’. She cussed him in her mind and forced herself to get up.

But she was surprised that he actually spared her life. Though his next words left her shocked, “Leave the garden, but you are not allowed to leave my mansion. You are not allowed to leave my pack…”.

He stood an inch away from her, and his face leaned close to hers as he finished his words, “Mate”.

“Your- your pack? Wait. You are the Lycan King? No way. The Lycan King is my mate?”. Her eyes widened as she exclaimed and was shocked, but it was all an act.

She was already aware that he was the Lycan King. And was equally aware that the Lycan King himself, was her second chance mate.
