Chapter 27 A Lie 7
Chapter 27 A Lie 7
Jayden's POV
“Sera had asked Naida just a simple question, why is she taking so long to respond?” my wolf self whispered. I had to break off the awkward silence. “Sera. She consented to this and that's why we're here…I mean, if she didn't she wouldn't have been here with me,” I replied. I just had to because Nadia seemed scared and worried too.
Seraphina heaved a long sigh and looked at Naida. “I think you should stay her for tonight,” she said as she managed to share her glance with I and Naida who's eyes moved in terror. “I…I cant..I can't stay here…Luciver..he’ll find me..” she managed to speak even though she shook in fear.
Seraphina moved closer to Naida, as if she could also feel the fear and worry around her and reached out for her hand.
“Don't worry…nothing will happen to you, I'll make sure you sleep comfortably tonight,” she assured her. I could tell that Naida wasn't okay with this but she didn't know how to turn down the kind lady's offer. “Naida…” I called but she wouldn't even look at me.
I quickly gave Sera a sign and she knew what to do. “I’ll be back, stay comfortable and relax okay,” she said, as if it was only Nadia in the room. I really needed to speak to Nadia, because she looked really worried and I was scared that she might back down. “This is my only opportunity to talk her,” I said to myself.
I called her calmly second time but she didn't respond. I adjusted busy to face hers and I slowly puled her to me. “What’s wrong honey?” I asked almost whispering. She moved away from me, avoiding my eyes from meeting hers. I re-adjusted and gently pulled her shoulders to face me.
“We never agreed on killing Luciver, the plan was to simply destroy the bond and leave our lives,” she said in a shaky voice.
I raised her head to face mine, so she could look into my eyes. “Naida, you know how much I love you, I can't bare to see you in pain, Luciver is a beast, you don't deserve anything he has done to you, ever since that day, he laid his filthy hands on you…the plan was to eliminate him completely!” I said confidently.
“We must eliminate him because he won't ever stop hurting you, he doesn't deserve to be alive, he hurts people…he's hurt you, so many times, Naida,” I said as I could feel my voice breaking as a result of pain.
“I'll kill him, Naida, I will!”
She gave me a stunning look. “No, Jayden, please don’t,” she said. I could tell the whole stuff was draining her. “You know what, I need to rest. I need to clear my head,” she said as she attempted to leave, but then, I held her hand and pulled her so close to me. She didn't also resist the kiss afterward. And then, I said to her almost as a whisper. “I love you so much and I'll do everything to make you mine,” she gave a faint smile and pulled out herself from my arms.
I sat down back at the sofa. “Im scared she might back down, I could see uncertainty in her eyes. Luciver will always hurt her, he'll never change. She doesn't get that,” I conversed with my wolf self. “You didn't convince her well enough,” “That was because she didn't give me the time, and I needed to give her a break. She's overwhelmed, I could tell,” I replied.
I took a look at my watch and it was already late. I was glad that she went to rest. It was evening already. We arrived at Sera's house at noon, I was simply surprised and pondered on how much time flies. I took the cup of tea and tried to take a sip. “Who knows the ingredients she used in making this,” I remarked disgustingly. It was already cold and tasted really sour. “That’s how things will get with you and Naida if you don't do something,” my wolf self snapped.
He just reminded of what I was trying to forget. I tried to think about how the outcome of this will look like and I concluded that it'll better to do something right away than imagining Luciver winning. I took a gulp of Sera's recipe again. It was more like I was trying to get drunk and each taste of it makes my face turn red.
“You like my tea right?” I heard a voice as I tried to take another gulp. Sera. She was back! She sat down in front of me, expecting a positive reply. I didn't want to tell her no. She'll feel bad. She was a good and kind girl, and my only friend .“And you can't say yes cause she'll happily make another,” my inner self contributed. “Not bad,” I said with a fake smile while trying to swallow.
She stared at me for sometime and I knew she could tell I was lying. “It tastes like gusts right?” she asked. “We both bursted into laughter. I didn't say that,” I said defensively. “Shut up you liar..I know you hate it,” we laughed again, harder this time. “It's good for your brain and it warms the organs.” She added. I silently laughed. “So funny how what helps the organs taste like organs,” I said inwardly.
“Where's Nadia?” she asked as if she almost forgot her name. The smile I had managed to build up slowly faded off. “She needed rest,” that was all I could say. She said something, almost like a whisper. I asked her to repeat herself as I didn't hear her. “Stay away from Nadia and Luciver’s case,” she said. Now I wished I didn't hear her. My face evolved again, to a frown this time.
She set her piercing and fearless eyes to mine. “You must abort this mission of yours, it's risky,” she added. I quickly stood up from the sofa and faced the wall. “And what makes you think I'll listen to you?” I snapped. I felt that was too harsh for Sera. “I respect you a lot, but I'm afraid I can't listen to you this time,” I said as I turned to face her.
She was silent for sometime and I wondered why. “I saw something Jayden. you lost your life trying to fight Luciver. I can't loose you, please…listen to me,” she said. I could see so much compassion and concern that Sera had for me but I couldn't compromise in this fight. “I love Naida and I'm ready to do anything for her,” I replied as I looked away from her.
“Black magic!” I said confidently. “Are you out of your mind, Jayden? Nope! That's too powerful, I won't let you do that,” She said as she held my shoulders and rudely turned me to face her. When she noticed she had my attention, she continued. She already seemed upset. I pulled her hands from my shoulders. “I'll do anything to save Naida. Anything. Get that!” I said rudely as I walked out on her.
I didn't want to negotiate this for any reason. Even if Naida or Seraphina or anyone else wasn’t comfortable with it. I didn't really care. All I wanted was for my girl to always be in my arms with Luciver swept off from the face of the earth. “No compromise!!” I said to myself.
