Biting off more than she can Chew

Chapter 88

Savannah’s POV

It was about time I got to end someone who had given my daughter so many problems. I didn’t get to kill Darci, or Edith, like I wanted to. Lane wanted the council to do it so nothing could come back on us over it. It was frustrating, but it was the right decision to make. They were put to death the day after they arrived at the council, and Lane was right about our not going there to witness it. It would have been so very hard for him to see them be put to death. I knew that he still loved his brother, and even his spiteful mother, but he loved me more. He stood up for both me and Evie in this, and I was happy about the fact that it was over.

But this girl, she willing came here to kill our daughter. She is going to earn every bit of what she gets, and her acting like she is not scared, is a lie. I can see it in her eyes. I am not going to do like Beau is doing. He is cutting that man down to size. I am going to toy with her first. I am going to let her think that she has a chance to beat me before I show her that it was all just a dream.

“Oh Karla, you are so very wrong. Evie will be fine. You will never be getting your hands on her again, as long as you live,” I teased her. She gave me exactly what I wanted. She was furious, and jumped at me quickly. I allowed her to scratch my arm a little as I pulled it away from her. I wanted her to think she could beat me, I never showed my true strength at Dark Marsh. I am the daughter of two Alphas. I trained to take over the Southern Storm pack, and be one of a handful of female Alphas. She is going to have her work cut out for her. I am back to my original strength, or even stronger since I got my daughter back. Lane was stronger as well from finding Evie. I know that he will be the one ending Lyell if Jake doesn’t insist upon doing it.

I can tell that Karla was well trained. I knew that her father was a trainer, and a good one, so I was expecting her to know how to fight. I had just been warming up with sparring with Jake. It was time to get down to business. I wanted to piss her off into making stupid mistakes. I can tell that she is already very angry about finding out that we were expecting them. It won’t take much to push her completely over the edge. I gave her a roundhouse kick that landed on her back, on her left side. It was hard enough to knock her down, and it knocked the wind out of her. I backed up and gave her time to catch her breath. I do not want her to think that I wanted to end her while she was down like this. She got up slowly and I knew she was in pain.

I acted like I was going to do another kick, but went low and swiped her feet out from under her, and she landed hard again. She got up quicker this time, but I can tell that she is favoring her left side more now. I am sure her bibs are at least bruisedright now. She is not liking what I am doing. I knew that the way that Garrison was training here was different from how they trained. Jake and Beau have spent this week learning some of the moves to take it back to Dark Marsh. She doesn’t know how to come at me, as I am using my legs to attack.

She can’t get her hands on me, and my legs are coming fast to land blows on her. I am focused on her left hand side. She has not managed to inflict anything but a scratch on me. She is growling at me, and I know it is just a matter of a few minutes before she is going to phase into her wolf. I won’t be phasing when she does. I am going to get a few more blows in, on her left side. I plan on breaking a few of her ribs in this fight. I smirked at her, driving up her frustration, and her growling gets louder. She doesn’t know how to come at me to be able to get a hold of me. She thinks that her wolf might do a better job.

I don’t think that will be happening. Her wolf is an even bigger target, and after she phases, I will then show her the true error of her ways. I have been taking it easy on her. Giving her time to catch her breath. I could have ended her after I knocked the breath out of her. You can’t fight if you can’t breathe. She was a sitting duck laying there on her back. I stepped back and let her get ready to fight again. I almost cannot wait until she does change. I will not be letting her get close enough to bite me. She wants to kill me to try to get at Evie, but Jake is right there next to her. He will never let her get anywhere near her. Karla can hang it up. Her dream of ending Evie, will never be happening. I will be glad to see it in her eyes when she figures that out.

The moment that I was waiting for has come, and with a scream of fury, Karla transforms into a dark tan wolf. She had no markings, or anything special about her. She is actually a pretty small wolf, and I am sure that she takes after her mother in that respect. Her brother has a much larger wolf, but he is not bigger than Beau is. I glanced over to them, I can see that their fight is almost to an end.

Karla wastes no time in lunging at me when I glanced over. Her teeth snapping at me in threat. She wants to hurt me, and I know that if she could kill me, she would be spinning around and heading right for Evie. I waited until she was almost on me before turning to the side and getting into position to give her a side kick as she passed me. I knocked her over again, and I heard the whimper of pain that came out of her when she landed. I didn’t hold back my kick this time, and I knew that I had landed a hard blow. I knew that I had broken a few of her ribs.

Karla’s wolf is having difficulty getting up, and she is currently near Jake and Evie now. She is about to realize that her end is near and want to take Evie out before our fight is complete. I cannot allow that to happen. I see that Jake gets the message quickly from the look I gave him. He steps back several feet and the circle closes the gap, I see his warrior Lee is now in front of them, with his men still on the roof of our packhouse. Lee has his weapon, and I know that Jake has already told him to end her if she rushes at Evie. Jake is a good mate for Evie, and I am glad that she has him in her life. He would die protecting her. I know that she has been blessed by the Goddess because of all that she has been through in her life.

I could see that she was thinking about trying to get to Evie. Lee shook his head at her and then let her know that he was ready to end her. The top of his holster was unsnapped and he would shoot her before she could even try to leap at Evie. She didn’t even realize yet that she wouldn’t be able to jump, or run, at Evie. She was still on the ground from when I kicked her. I know that she is trying to get her wolf to heal her, but even with our quick healing, it wouldn't be instant. She will not be able to heal for this fight to end her way. Her whimpering increased as she went to stand. She finally realizes the extent of her injuries now, and she knows that she messed up phasing into her wolf. She is badly injured now, and she can only blame herself for the condition that she is in. She wanted this. She was the one who came here fully intending to hurt my baby girl.

Her whimpering is not going to work on me. Her father looks upset, but he has not moved from where he stood earlier. I think hearing just how vicious his daughter was firsthand must have been a shock for him. He is not going to step in, no matter how loud she gets with this. She looked around and phased back into her human form to be able to speak. I know that since she has always been able to talk herself out of problems like this in the past, she thinks she might be able to this time as well.

“I am sorry. I admit defeat, please. I will leave and never come back. Just let us leave here peacefully” Karla begged as she lay on the ground, naked.

“I am sorry, but you are going to have to end this fight. I know who you are. You want to hurt Evie, and you will never leave her alone. You will just get more prepared to make another stand at another time. I won’t allow it. Look around Karla, no one here is on your side. Even your friends who helped you at Dark Marsh now realize that you kept them worked up by blaming Evie for everything. But look at them now, your insistance on continuing your vendetta against Evie, is getting you all killed. You could have let it go, and lived a good life. You just couldn’t leave it alone. No one here is going to stop this fight. It is too the death, don’t you remember. You were going to kill me, and then Evie. Have you forgotten your own threat?” I asked her.

I will not allow her to get anyone else to step into this fight. But if they do, I am OK with it. She is almost done, and I will end anyone else that dares to step in for her. She asked for this when she came here. Her begging to leave now is a joke. I can see her look to her father and start crying loudly. I know she is crying because she is hurt, and the crying is making her ribs hurt worse. She looks pitiful lying there on the ground, but she is not an innocent victim in this.

“Dad, I am sorry. Please help me. I promise that Steven and I will leave here and never come back ever again,” Karla cried out.

“Karla, I begged you to leave it alone and you refused. You brought this on yourself, your brother, and your friends. I will not step in. I decided that last night. I do not want either of you to suffer, but your brother has already been killed. You are just hurting so much that you didn’t feel it,” her father replied back to her. I glanced over and sure enough Steven's body is being added to the pile of rogues. We will be burning their bodies together after this. Karla’s scream of anger and frustration rings out for all to hear.
