Chapter 101

Evie’s POV

Five Years Later

I have planned a nice anniversary dinner for us. We celebrate the day he found me too, but this is the main date for us to celebrate. Especially since the night we met, was a pretty traumatic experience for me. I have told the children that tonight was just going to be for mommy and daddy. They will be eating with their cousins, their aunt Sarah and uncle Beau, and Jakes parents, so we can eat alone in our room. They will then be spending the night with their cousins too, I have it all worked out. I have his favorite meal being prepared, as well as his favorite dessert. I just wanted this night to be special for us. We don’t get a lot of alone time together, with three pups that are all under the age of five.

Jake has been the perfect mate for me. The love that he has for me is clearly shown most days. He tries to make sure that I know he was thinking about me. Little notes left behind if he gets up early. Bringing me back something, from coffee, to anything that had reminded him of me. He does it each time he has to leave the pack for any reason. The patience that Jake has shown with our pups, amazes me to this day. I get more frazzled with them then he does, but I am the one that is with them the most.

The doctor was right, we were having more than one pup. We just didn’t realize that it would be three at the same time, until I hit my third month. We found out when they did the ultrasound. I was stunned, but Jake was even happier than he was when I gave him the original news. Our firstborn, is named Charles Reese, and we call him Reese. He clocked in at a whopping 4.3 lbs. when he arrived kicking and screaming into the world. He had brown hair just like his father, and my hazel eyes with the silver flecks in them.

He is the next Alpha for the pack, and Charles had cried when he found out what the baby was named. The last month of my pregnancy had been very hard on me. I was put on bedrest, and I was pretty big. It was hard to get around with being pregannt with mulitples. My mother had came here to take care of me for that whole month. I am sure that it gave her a terrible flashback to when she had me. Dad showed up the day before the babies were born. We could all tell that they were coming.

Our second born was Jacob Lane, and he was 4.0 lbs. even when he was born. He has my hair, and Jake’s beautiful blue eyes. He was much quieter coming into the world. Our baby girl was the last pup to be born, Savannah Elaine, was 3.8 lbs. and just a living doll. We all call her Vanna. She has her father willingly wrapped around her tiny finger. She is me made over, and she is such a sweet girl. I am very proud of all of my children. They are a handful, and although it was very hard when they were little, we had a lot of help.

I had wanted to use Debra’s name, but Sarah and Beau had found out they were expecting a week after I did. I deferred to Sarah on using her mothers name. Elaine is Debra’s middle name, so she was surprised that both her grand-daughters ended up carrying her name. We wanted to honor both sets of parents as they had been nothing but wonderful to us both.

My father was so excited about his grandson having his name. We do call him Lane, as we thought it might cause some confusion calling him Jake here at Dark Marsh. Dad had stepped down as Alpha two years ago. He let Garrison take the pack over as the interim Alpha. Mom and dad ended up getting pregnant about a year after mom stopped the special tea that Darci had been making for her. We all knew that it was a blessing from the Goddess herself. Garrison had found his mate at Dark Marsh when he came for our wedding. He has never been happier, and he already knew what to do as Alpha, as he had already been doing it when Luell was in charge. Garrison was a much better Alpha than Lyell had ever been.

My father wanted to spend time with my new brother. He had missed so much with me, that he didn’t want to miss anything with Blaine. So both dad, and Garrison ran the pack together, as the Alpha for two years. Before dad turned it over to Garrison to run for the next 18 years. They both had babies, and they both wanted to spend time with them. So, it had worked out very well for them to work it together for those two years. Dad would step in and help when Garrison needed some time off for either vacation, or time with family. They worked together well, and Garrison learned a lot from dad.

Dad has a contract made up, one that benefited them both. We keep one of them here at our pack, with a second copy at mom and dads bank, in their saftey deposit box. My brother Blaine will be taking the pack over at 21. He will be learning from both Garrison, and our dad, on how to become an Alpha. The Moss Point pack is doing exceptionally well right now. Brad, Garrison’s father, had taken back over as Beta. He wanted to hold the position for Garrison’s son, Truett. That was also noted in the contract. Truett and Blaine are best friends, and they understood what was going on, as much as young children could. There should hopefully be no issues to come up when it is time to hand the pack over. Everything is clearly drawn out. Dad hated to do it like that, but after being burnt by his own family, he wanted to be more careful this time. They all three decided to do it like this. It has worked for the last several years. I do not foresee any problems with it in the future.

Jake slipped into the room and saw the candles lit on the table. He knew we were going to have our usual anniversary dinner, and hurried to shower. The food arrived right when he was getting done. I just took the cart from them at the door. I wanted this night to be perfect. Jake got dressed quickly and came back with a suit on, as he had saw me in the dress he loved so much when he came in. It hugged me tightly and he liked me to stay in the room when I wore it. My body was outlined it in and I liked how possessive he was over me, especially in this dress.

The meal was wonderful, and still piping hot. The dessert had been put in a cooler as it was cheesecake, with strawberries on top. Jake was happy and we were both glad to get to sit and talk to each other. Don’t get me wrong, we love our pups, but one night a year it is a good thing to get to spend time alone together. Jake has been looking at me for the last two hours with lust in his eyes. His gaze so intense, I could feel it on me. I love how he always lets me know just how much I mean to him. I am so thankful to the Goddess for putting me directly in his path. I am glad when Jake told me that we should move this to the bedroom, and just come back later for dessert. I shuddered in excitement and as I passed him, and he slapped me on the butt. I giggled as I ran into our room ahead of him. It was indeed a lovely night.

As I lay against him, wrapped in his arms, it hit me how perfect out life truly was. Jake had asked me to think about hiring a nanny to help me years ago. There were times when he had to be gone for a day or two, and had wanted me with him. I could understand that he needed me with him, just like he could understand my fear of someone taking our pups. It is not an unwarranted fear for me. It is one that I know from first-hand experience, could happen. He doesn’t leave the pack very often, usually an Alpha training would be in our region. But I knew he really just wanted to show me off. He was so proud of me, and what I had done for the betterment of the pack. It makes my heart burst in happiness with how proud of me he is. I guess I just need to lean into this and tell him.

“I am thinking about getting a nanny to help me with the kids,” I told him.

“That is wonderful. If you want me to sit in on the interview process, my love, I will. I know how much you worry about our pups,” Jake told me. I had to turn around in his arms. I wanted to see his face. I love this man so much. I can’t stop a stray happy tear from falling from the corner of my eye.

“Baby, it will be fine. I promise you that I will not allow anything to happen to our pups. They will be fine with a nanny. You carry so much on you. I will be glad to take you out for date night once a week. I love getting to show you off,” Jake told me, and leaned in to give me a kiss. I kissed him back, and gave a low moan in my throat. I am ready for round two, but first, I need to finish what I was going to tell him.

“Also, you might want to start showing me off soon. My belly might be too big for us to have a proper date night in 2 months. I just found out today that will be having another pup in about three months,” I told him and then bit my lip. We never discussed having more, although we didn’t use protection. Clearly the Goddess wanted us to have another pup.

I was glad that I was facing him. I see the joy light up his face when he heard. He didn’t pressure me for another baby. I honestly didn’t know if he wanted to have another one or not. I was glad that he was as happy as I was over this. I had found out two days ago, and it has been so hard to keep this secret from everyone, until I could tell him. He pushed me onto my back and lowered his head down to my stomach. I cannot stop the smile on my face. He was such a good father. He was already stroking my stomach and speaking to the baby.

I could feel the love that he already felt for the new baby coursing through him. It was immediate, just like I had felt when I found out. I ran my fingers through Jake’s hair as I watched him lovingly speak to the baby, and gently kiss my stomach. I was going to let everyone else know tomorrow, but for tonight, it is just us. Jake looks up at me, with love for me shining in his eyes. He doesn’t say a word, just gets up from where he was at my waist. He lifts my shoulders off the bed pulling me towards him. Jake gives me a passionate kiss that is filled with promises to come. I sighed as he laid me back down, and checked me. I was ready, and I feel him nudge my entrance and slides back into me as our fingers entwine together. This time is was a slower experience where he worshipped my body. I sighed in happiness as I slid over as the orgasm hit me. I would go through everything,all over again, just to end up with my wonderful mate. I owe the Goddess a great deal for putting Jake Hale out there that night to rescue me.
