Chapter 69: Taken!

The front door was left open and the sitting room was left in ruins. There were claw marks on the walls and some had even torn into some of the furniture. As the two boys looked around, their supernatural eyes surged out and they started sniffing the air.

"Two wolves and a vampire." Grunted Saint. "Call Elder Mac!"

Roy brought out his phone and started dialing Elder Mac's number but nobody picked up.

"Blood!" Roy horrid over to a spot behind one of the chairs. There, he found a small red patch of blood on the ground. He touched it and smelled it.

"It's Dad's!" His body grew cold and his eyes turned red with rage. "They hurt him."

Saint hugged himself as he stared at the red spot of blood on Roy's fingers in horror.

The image of Alaric getting torn to pieces flashed across his mind. His body trembled and he whimpered.

When Roy looked up and saw Saint's state, he quickly pulled himself together and hurried over to comfort him.

"Saint, he will be fine. You have to be strong."

Saint shook his head in frustration and his body started shaking.

They have lost so much and it was only normal that they grieve but Saint didn't. He was always just shrugging things off or just keeping silent.

"Roy, will he leave us too? Are we losing him too?"

Saint finally broke down. Tears streamed down his cheeks in torrents.

"Saint, don't do this. He will be fine. He is a very strong wolf. remember that "

Since Alaric's death, this was the first time Saint would shed a single tear and the sight of it terrified Roy.

Having studied a little psychology in school, Roy knew that Saint's wasn't mentally fine and could break down at any time because he didn't allow himself to grieve. Therefore, Roy was on the lookout for him.

He had promised himself to watch out for when Saint would break down so that he could take care of him. He didn't want his father to be worried. So he stayed alert by his brother's side.

This is very bad. Roy mumbled to himself.

Frustrated, Roy grabbed Saint's hand and led him into the house. He wanted him to go lie down while he went to find Elder Mac who was still not picking up his call.

But another shocking sight was waiting for them in their rooms. Hen Roy saw that Saint's room was in a worse condition than the sitting room; he quickly went to check his own room and found it in a similar situation. Their Dad's room was the most damaged of all the rooms.

Roy frowned thoughtfully.

"Seemed like they were looking for something." Roy pointed out. "What do we have that vampires want?"

"Information on Megan's whereabouts," Saint said in anger.

"Why is she always bringing us trouble like this?" he stomped.

Saint had come to hate the fact that Megan was his family. Even though he knew none of the things happening around her was her fault, he would have still preferred if it didn't affect him and his brothers in any way.

Because of her, two of his brothers and his grandfather had died. There was a possibility that their mother died because of Megan too and now their father has gone missing.

As far as Saint was concerned, Megan was a jinx.

In fact, he secretly approved of Scott's betrayal of Megan. It was just sad that it got him killed.

Roy on the other hand, felt sorry for Megan. But not wanting to upset his brother more than necessary, he changed the subject.

"Let's go back to the factory. Elder Mac is not picking up."

"Okay."

The two boys immediately left the house and started running as fast as they could, not bothering to hide their supernatural speed anymore.

At the senior staff building, the boys asked everyone around about Elder Mac but he had not resumed for the day. So they got directions to his house.

On getting there, they found him in a pool of his blood but he wasn't dead yet. The boys quickly called for help and other witches in the building came to his rescue.

A few minutes after a witch attended to Elder Mac, he opened his eyes and quickly got on his feet in near panic. He felt a sudden fear when he saw Roy and Saint in his house.

"Where is your father?" He asked Roy.

"Two werewolves and a vampire took him. We don't know where they took him to." Roy quickly explained.

"Let's go back to your house first."

Elder Mac hurried out of his building and followed the boys back home.

When he saw the condition of their flat, he sneered in anger.

"Did you get a good look at them?"

"No. We came back from the factory to meet this. We only sniffed their scents."

"Or could it be that van?" Saint suddenly remembered the black van that was leaving as they were arriving.

"What van?"

"It was driving off as we were arriving."

"Have you seen it before?"

"No. I haven't and I didn't get the plate number." Saint said with regret.

"It had no plate number. I checked." Roy replied.

Elder Mac was infuriated.

"Elder Mac, what could they be looking for? They scattered all our rooms," said Saint.

"I don't know.."

Elder Mac brought out a phone and dialed a number. The moment the person on the other side picked, Elder Mac reported what had just happened.

He had woken up and was getting ready for work when he was suddenly attacked from the back. He never got to see the face of his assailant. When he woke up, he was in a pool of blood and Oliver was gone.

The other person told him to sit still so that they would get back to him.

Just as Elder Mac finished speaking, a trumpet-like sound rose into the air and a male voice declared a state of emergency.

Avila was instantly placed on lockdown and a search party started looking for Oliver.

The search lasted all day but he was never found. Roy and Saint were devastated.

Back at Mayel, it had been three weeks since Kulan and her crew arrived here. Since then, apart from hanging out with Madam Su whenever she was invited, there was nothing for Kulan and her crew to do.

Their only clue to finding Fie was to gain access to Adolph's treasure and Madam Su was still working on that.

Kulan has also sent her crew members out. They have activated all the sleeping cells in the human realm and these cells were discreetly searching for any clue Fie might have left behind.

So far, nothing has surfaced.

Kulan would have been bored but since she and her husband had decided to make another baby, Madam Su had helped them prepare a formation in their room and when they were not doing anything outside, they would be in this formation doing their best to make a baby.

This was what they were doing when Lev started banging at their bedroom door.

Kulan and Kurt were shocked as this had never happened before.

Who would dare do this?

With a wave of her hand, KuLaa's dress magically got on her body while Kurt hurried to wear his pants. With another wave, Kulan angrily unlocked the door and sent it flying.

Lev, who was behind the door, was sent flying with the door.

When he recollected himself, he cautiously walked back to the doorless room and got on his knees, not daring to look up.

"Are you seeking death?" Kulan snarled.

"My Liege! This humble one was terrified just now. Please be merciful." He begged.

"Terrified. What bothers you?" Kurt quickly stepped in front of Kulan because he noticed something wrong.

"We just got reports from Avila that Oliver was kidnapped from his home in the early hours of this morning. All effort to find him was to no avail."

"What about Elder Mac?"

"He was attacked and his soul was searched. That must be how Oliver's whereabouts were found out."

Kulan sat down and became thoughtful. Then, she looked up.

"How many sleeping cells were activated in the last two weeks?" She asked.

"Twenty."

"Find out which cell didn't report back in the past 48 hours."

"Yes, my Liege."

Kulan waved her hand and Lev quickly got off his feet and rushed out of the room. Just now he almost died of anxiety. He had been too brash.

He regretted coming on this journey with KuLaa. Had Alice been around, she would have been the one doing all these running around. She was already used to it.

As for Lev who had always been on standby, this was the first time he would have to deal with his boss directly. It was a terrifying experience for him.

The moment Lev left, the destroyed door self-repaired and went back to its hinges.

Soon, it was as if there was never an explosion.

A few minutes later, Lev got the information Kulan needed. One of the newly activated cells had gone missing after visiting an underground fight club at Baril.

"Follow their trail. I want reports on everywhere they have been to and everyone they have met or spoken to since they got activated.

Also, tell the crew to wait for me at Avila. They must watch the boys till I arrive." Kulan instructed.

"Yes, My Liege."

As Lev ran around trying to get things done, Kulan went to tell Madam Su what was happening and that she had to leave.

Since Ryan's heart blood refinement wasn't finished, Kulan had to leave him behind. She was short of one main fighter.

Since Oliver's disappearance, Roy and Saint were placed under strict security. They were taken to a secret underground room and not allowed to go anywhere.

Four days later, Kulan arrived and after she made sure the boys were fine, she sent them to Mayel. As Madam Su pointed out, Mayel was the best place to hide the boys.

"I feel like I am stepping into a trap." Kulan said to Kurt, on the afternoon they arrived at Baril."

"It's obvious. The question is, how do you want us to approach it?" Kurt asked.

They had just entered Baril and were on their way to their secret lair.

"Take a few turns then call a taxi to wait for us at 'Lumiere.' Let's switch." She said to the driver.

"Yes, My Liege."

The driver kept driving and after an hour of aimlessly driving through Baril, they stopped at Lumiere, a very busy open market in Baril.

KuLaa, Kurt, and Lev dropped and quickly mixed with the crowd.

A little bit later, they approached an empty taxi. Lev got behind the wheels and drove them off using another exit.

Meanwhile, a black van that was trailing them suddenly materialized out of thin air after their car drove out of Lumiere and the occupants discovered that Kulan and Kurt were no longer in it.

"They ditched us." One of the men snarled. "How did she see us?"

"I told you she is powerful." Another man sniggered. "You better stop being smug and take the mission seriously, Jum." The other man admonished.

Jum was a very powerful wizard. He was arrogant and conceited.

Until now, he thought Kulan was a witch he would easily trample under his feet.

"No wonder she could kill Uncle Adolph." Jum frowned. "Don't worry uncle, I will take revenge for you.

What they didn't know was that Kulan didn't sense them at all. Her actions were purely based on instincts.

She had sensed danger but couldn't pinpoint where it was coming from and decided to change her established routine just to throw a wrench in whatever plan the hidden enemy had.

To Kurt's question, Kulan said, "We will wait a few days and see how things develop. Now that I have arrived where they want me, it's their turn to make a move."

For her, this was just another game of Chess and the piece in danger wasn't that relevant. She would play this game for as long as they wanted.

Whoever they were.
