Chapter 68: Godly Treasure.
"So despicable," Ryan mumbled.
"What is an immortal?" Kulan asked.
She already had an idea but preferred to get more explanation from Madam Su. She believed that Madam Su knew more than the texts she had read. In fact, most of what she had read and what Madam Su was saying were conflicting.
"Immortal is a level of cultivation. Humans cultivate to become immortals and Immortals cultivate to become gods. Both immortals and Gods can't die of natural causes. Someone stronger than them is the only thing that can kill them."
Kulan nodded.
"Because of the poison fed to everyone in this world by the house of Zote for hundreds of years, the genetics of the people have changed and the generations that followed kept getting weaker and weaker. It is only a matter of time before the creatures of this world die out or get refined by the Zotes unless someone stops them.
Your father was the closest to a pure bloodline since the poisoning of the continent. When you were still a fetus, in the last months of your pregnancy, I taught him how to refine your heart blood while still in the womb. After your heart blood was refined, he was able to infuse magic into it and you came out as a vampire witch. If we didn't do that, you would have either come out as just a human witch or a vampire.
The magical technique I used was stolen from the Zote during the time we raided them and I am sure it was that technique they also used in creating Fie too."
By the time Madam Su finished telling her story, hours had passed. A heavy silence descended on the tomb as she gave everyone the time to let the story sink.
Kulan and her family were shocked.
"I don't even know where to start." Kulan mumbled with hopelessness."What do you want me to do Madam Su?" She asked.
"First, I want you to repopulate the Viedanise family with a strong and pure bloodline. This was why I asked you to follow Kurt. He is of the Iscamon bloodline and his heart blood is very strong. The moment I sensed him coming this way, I knew he was the right mate for you."
"I see." Kulan nodded. She had always wondered why Madam Su insisted she mate with a total stranger. And a werewolf at that.
"It was a good pick, Madam Su. Thank you." Kulan smiled and relaxed on Kurt's shoulder.
Madam Su rolled her eyes at them.
"Is that why it took you over 40 years to be happy?" she sneered. "Don't stink the air with your sex scent please."
Kurt frowned and said, "But if you had warned us about Adolph and told us all these things, we would have known what we were up against."
"Mm," Madam Su huffed. "True." She agreed.
"Then why did you keep it from us?" Kulan asked. She also wanted to know. It was just that Kurt was faster.
"I didn't want to make the same mistake twice. If I didn't tell your parents about these things, they wouldn't have gone around trying to find traces of the House of Zotes and they would be alive today." Madam Su huffed again. She couldn't even count how many times she had done that tonight.
"It wasn't your fault Madam Su. I remember you told them not to go on their last mission but they said they were too close to give up."
"But I should have waited more before telling them. I was too anxious. This time around you can't do that. There is no reason to hurry, okay? Let me help you all get stronger first."
"Okay, Madam Su. I will do as you say." Kulan smiled reassuringly at her.
"Good. So all of you have to do is move into Mayel and start growing your family. Once that is done, we can continue experimenting on how to start cultivating.
Our forefathers had a little success in this regard but stopped because it had limitations and they had lost their hope due to insistent failures." Madam Su continued.
"I managed to get some of that Fie's blood on a piece of clothing…"
Madam Su raised her hand and a piece of rag rose into the air from behind a coffin and flew towards KuLaa. "Take it. It should be able to help you. Luckily, she is not as powerful as you. But you can not be careless. There are equally powerful witches and Supreme Lords and Alphas around her."
"Werewolves and vampires are working together to capture her? And they are as strong as KuLaa?" Kurt asked.
"Yes. Those who came to capture her were werewolves and vampires."
"This is going to be troublesome." Kulan rubbed her chin in deep thought.
She had believed that she was the strongest on this continent but now she was being told there were creatures stronger than her.
Where have they been all this while?
" I just want you to try because you are quite powerful now. Way more powerful than your father was when he died. You definitely stand a chance but you can't be smug like your father. Remember what happened to your parents. Let it be your lesson.
If you feel that you can't do it, then don't worry about finding her. We can always lure in a werewolf couple and use them to create another half for you to use."
"That will take such a long time. It may appear that we have time but the enemy is getting stinger too. They might even be stronger already." Kulan mumbled with a frown.
"I may have a way to trace the wolf witch." Kurt suddenly said, surprising everyone.
"You do?'
"When Adolph started cultivating me into a Supreme Alpha, he took me to a separate dimension. That was where I was living until his death. After he died, I lost my connection with that place. I can't access it without his magic."
"If we can find a way to break his seal on that space, we might be able to enter it, find out what he was hiding, and maybe find traces of Fei!" Kulan excitedly said.
"Exactly. There are so many places I wasn't given access to in that place. He was definitely hiding a lot."
"Mm." Madam Su nodded thoughtfully. "Can you tell me what that place looks like?"
"Adolph said it's a magical treasure that works as a pocket dimension. There is just one duplex Maison on a one-hectare grassland…"
As he described the space, Madam Su's eyes got wide with shock and anger.
"The sky is almost blue and when you enter the house, it's like entering a new place with several caves, dungeons, and courtyards."
"Yes." Kurt nodded earnestly. "You seem to know the place, Madam Su. That Is exactly how it is!"
"The house of Zote are really despicable creatures. That was indeed a treasure that belonged to the house of Camel. It was borrowed to the five families for the medical experiments. When the Zotes wiped out the Camels, they took over all their estates including that treasure. It's a place where time and space are irrelevant. As long as you are in it, your biological clock will stop. You will never age and the space will keep expanding as long as you need it to."
"Such a godly treasure exists?" Kulan screamed.
"If I had known such a thing was in the hands of that wizard when he was here, I wouldn't have let him leave."
"Exactly, Madam Su. All the problems we later encountered were because of him. Without him, things would have been more smooth sailing for us." Kulan complained.
"Even though he was of that bloodline, as of then he was yet to do any evil. I am not one to punish people for things they haven't done."
"That's true."
"That treasure is the best place to hide. I will try to figure out how to get you inside it. But when you go there, you must be very careful. Okay."
"Yes, ma'am." They replied.
"The two of you should go and rest. But, leave Ryan behind. I need to work on his heart blood."
"Is that really necessary? Mother has already done a lot of that."
Ryan didn't want to stay in this place. It was too gloomy and the thought of staying there alone with this ghost unsettled him.
"Shut up!" Kulan snapped at him.
Before he could even retort, he felt his speech gone. He first thought it was his mother but the look in Madam Su's eyes told him otherwise.
Why are all witches so bitchy? He thought to himself…
"You need to find a mate for him." Madam Su said to KuLaa.
"Oh, he has a mate and they have a set of twins. They are Turakies." Kulan said offhandedly but Madam Su's eyes widened in shock. Then, It turned to a frown. "Were you not planning to tell me?"
"Oh, I am so sorry. I was going to. It's just that there is a lot to think about, so it slipped my mind." Kulan apologized.
"Why didn't you bring them?"
"Their secret was exposed during the war of Lords so I sealed them and their mother on my private island for their safety."
"You have to find a way to bring them here. This is the safest place in the realms."
"I never thought of that." Kulan nodded. "Once we find Fie and return, I will bring them down," Kulan promised.
"Okay, the two of you can leave while I figure out how to access that treasure.'' Madam Su waved Kulan and Kurt out.
"Yes ma'am." They stood up and started to leave while Ryan who had been rendered immobile suddenly felt himself being lifted into the air.
His body shot forward at top speed until it was floating over an opened Silver casket. Ryan's body involuntarily lowered into the coffin and then the coffin cover slipped over it. It clicked in place to show that it was locked.
"A low-level Turakie with so much resentment is a risk I am not going to take. By the time I am done refining your heart blood, your head will be clear of evil thoughts. " Madam Su mumbled to herself as she placed her hand on the coffin and started whispering some incarnations over it.
It was very early in the morning in Avila town. Saint and Roy had been on the night shift for two weeks now. They had just finished work and were on their way home when they started feeling uneasy. For werewolves, this could only mean someone they cared about was in danger.
"We should hurry," Roy said to Saint, and without another word, the brothers broke into a run at a speed acceptable to the Human society.
The closer they got to their home, the heavier their hearts became.
"What do you think could be wrong?" Saint asked Roy. He had not felt this bad since Alaric's death. It was as if something was weighing down on his lungs, preventing him from breathing.
"Dad should be fine. Maybe it's Megan and her kids."
"Then we will not be able to help them. Plus I don't think it's Megan. I have never felt this bad because of her."
"Let's hurry," Roy said. He also felt the same but didn't want to upset Saint more than necessary.
Even though Megan was their sister, they didn't have such strong filial emotions towards her as their bonds were never developed.
Just as they rounded a corner and their house came into sight, they saw the door to a black van parked In front of their block as it closed and the van drove away.
Not suspecting anything, the boys hurried up the stairs but when they got to their flat, their hearts nearly jumped out of their mouths.
