Chapter 23

They both ordered pizza and beer and while the attendant left their table to get their food, they both pretended that something caught their attention and so, they looked around and sometimes at each other, smiling and expecting the other to break the silence.

“So, if you’re not going to say anything, I will just go ahead and ask some questions,” Diane said.

“Okay,” Paul replied.

“How did you like your first day back?” she asked.

“Not bad,” he said and shrugged.

“So, what made you leave in the first place and why did you decide to come back. Don’t tell me you went to gain some experience,” she said, smiling.

Paul also smiled.

“It’s a long story and a very complicated one,” he said. “You also might have a hard time believing me if I told you.”

“Try me,” she said enthusiastically.

Just then the attendant returned with their orders.

“Would you like anything else,” the attendant asked.

Diane looked at Paul and he shook head.

“No. Thank you. That will be all,” Diane said.

They were both quiet for some time as they began to eat.

“These tastes good,” Paul said.

“That is why it is my favorite place around here,” Diane replied.

“How is um Kate, your friend?” Paul asked.

Diane looked quite surprised that he asked such a question, but she replied anyway.

“She’s okay. In fact, she said something about seeing your brother today,” Kate said with a little bit of food in her mouth.

“Oh!” Paul said.

“What’s that?” Diane asked.

“I guess that would explain why Pete left very early today,” Paul said. “Quite early even for him.”

“Right,” Diane said and giggled.

“You still have not answered my question,” Diane said as she picked off some crumbs from her cloth.

“Which?” Paul asked, feigning ignorance.

“Why did you leave?”

Paul looked at her for some time wondering if he should tell her what was wrong and what his plans were or not. He decided.

“My dad launders money through the company and while I decided to help him with it when I found out, I changed my mind when I found out how bad they are, the people he’s doing it for.”

While he talked, he didn’t take his eyes away from Diane so he could gauge her reaction to what he was saying. He was surprised by what he saw.

“You do not seem surprised,” Paul said.

Diane shrugged.

“What?” Paul asked. “Don’t tell me you know about all that.”

“Not particularly,” Diane said.

“Okay?”

“A few months ago, I stumbled onto something interesting. I was auditing our books and saw that we lent money to a company. Besides the fact that I didn't know we did such a thing, I've never heard about that company before, so I did some research. Maybe a company with that name will exist tomorrow but as of now, it doesn't. The money that also went to that company was also huge. That company also gave an invoice," she chuckled as she said that.

"So, I thought, well, there's something wrong here. I took that information to your dad, and he said it was a shell company and that I shouldn't worry about it. Also, at the end of the month, my salary increased significantly. So, what do you think?" Diane asked.

Paul smiled. She wasn't just that girl who worked at their company and showed up with her mental friend to a party. She was smart, way smarter than he thought, and he liked that.

He emptied the beer can, pushed it aside and asked for another one.

"So, to my second question," Diane said. "You didn't want to be a part of your dad's criminal activities, you decided to leave, and you found a good job. Why did you quit that job and why are you back here?"

"Do you interview the company's new recruits?" Paul asked.

"Yeah," Diane replied.

"They must have had a hard time with your questions," Paul said smiling.

"Oh. I know that" Diane said, also smiling.

"I didn't quit the job," Paul said.

"You mean the company you just left?" Diane asked.

"Yes."

"So, what happened," Diane asked.

"I was sacked," Paul said. "My dad had a hand in it."

"You know this for sure?" Diane asked.

"He denies it, but I do."

"But why are you back here if you want nothing to do with your dad?" Diane asked.

Yeah, she's smart, Paul thought to himself. It was time to finally decide if he was going to let her in on what his plans were or not.

"I want to kick him out of the company," Paul said.

He found a hint of surprise in her face this time. It was far, very far, from what she thought would come out of his mouth. After a few seconds she smiled.

"You can't be serious," she said, looking intently at him.

Paul said nothing. He just looked at her.

"That would be so crazy," she said. "Are you sure you would be able to do that to him?"

"I know I will be able to do that to him," Paul said. "I won't be the first person to do something like this, nor will I be the last."

They both had finished their pizzas and their beer arrived just in time. Paul unsealed the can almost immediately while Diane, who seemed to have lost all interest from anything aside from what Paul had to say, looked at him.

"Are you even supposed to be telling me this?" she asked. "How do you know you can trust me?"

"I don't," Paul said. "Can I?"

"Who else is in on this?"

"Just you," he replied.

"Say I decide to join your crusade, we can't do this alone, and I happen to know that you're not on good terms with your brother."

"I know and I'll deal with my brother. He'll come on board."

She kept looking at him and Paul thought she was someone he could have asked out if he didn't have a girlfriend, or whatever his relationship with Helen was.

Diane stood up and moved to Paul's side of the table.

"Come on," she said, pulling him up. "There's something I would like you to see."

She led him through tables in the restaurant, holding his hand as he wondered what it was. She opened a door and led him in, it was a toilet.

"What are you doing," there was surprise in his tone.

"Both genders use the same toilet here so there won't be a problem," she said as she began to kiss him. He held back at first but kissed her back.

She kissed him again and soon; they were tugging at each other's clothes.

She dragged him into one of the compartments in the toilet and closed the door behind them. The place was quite small, but it didn't seem it would deter them from what they had in mind.

She stretched her hand past Paul, closed the lid of the water closet and pushed Paul onto it. She began to unbutton his pants while he pulled up her dress. Unexpectedly, she was turned around by Paul, she had to strain her neck backwards to kiss him, but she welcomed it. As soon as she sat on him and could feel him in her, everything seemed to slow down, but only for a while. She brought Paul's hands up to her breasts as she moved on Paul's laps.

There wasn't much privacy for them, and they both knew that so, they both swallowed and touched and kissed and then Paul gasped and his whole body shook.

Diane smiled but she didn't expect what happened next. For most guys she'd been with, that was usually the end and so she was surprised at what happened next.

Paul pushed her up, against the wall and knelt down. He raised both hands up, holding Diane's soft and warm breasts as he buried his head between her laps. She moaned. She placed her hands on the back of his head and forced it further into her.

In one swift motion, she tightened her laps on Paul's head while she stifled a cry at the same time. Paul knew his work was done.

When Paul stood up and they looked at each other, they didn't quite know what to do.

"I have someone," Paul said as they both dressed up.

Diane shrugged and smiled.

Paul realized he had wrongly termed her the good girl and her friend the bad girl at that party.

Diane was trying to properly put on her underwear when Paul held her hands. He reached under her cloth, removed the underwear, brought them to his nose and stuffed them in his pocket while looking at her at the same time.

"You'll be leaving without them," he said.

Diane smiled and began to walk out of the toilet.

"See you tomorrow boss," she said with the most provocative smile Paul had ever seen as she closed the door behind her.

"Fuck me!" Paul exclaimed.
