Chapter 69: There's a cake

Chapter 69: There's a cake
Miles's POV

Stepping out of the bathroom with my short and wet hair, I wasn't surprised to see Cole.

It's like it's his custom to say hi by staring trouble.

I found him at kitchen, definitely ruining my mood after having that passionate sex with Belle.

Unfortunately, her old man decided to bump in on us. I don't like the aura he gives.

It's like he's watching me, every minute and he creeps me out.

Now, it's Cole, I don't even know if to blame him or not but I'd just explain to him that I'm not Julius.

No, what if he's just trying to convince me?

I heaved a sigh as soon as I got an inche closer to him. There's a cake on the countertop he stands by.

Hands on the counter edge as he stays sober.

I didn't say a word, took a spoon across his head, stand beside him and accessed the cake.

"Someone seems annoyed that I didn't get locked up" I mused digging a spoon in the cake.

"I'm sorry miles...I was just mad, for calling you someone else"

I froze for a moment as my eyes widened in shock. He had a sincere look on his face.

"What?" I said pretending not to hear him.

"I was way out of line, I shouldn't have insulted like that"

I cut off a part from the cake and then ate it but spit it out.

"I'm offended, the cake is more like poison" I said in an incredulous tone as it has a sour taste.

"I'd get you a better one, just hear me out" he said as though frustrated that my concern was on the cake.

"And I really wanted to eat cake for the night" I complained using the spoon to stab the cake everywhere on the plate.

"I called you Julius and that wasn't cool. You're my brother and I should treat you with respect"

Him apologizing cringes me, why does he have to be the good guy? I can't blame him, not when Belle tells him about a look alike that molested her.

Even I don't know who I am. My surprise gave way to curiousity.

"Why the sudden change of heart?" I asked, my eyes narrowed slightly.

He shrugged. "I was being a jerk. I shouldn't have let my emotions get the best of me. You're not who I said you were and I'm sorry for the hurtful words"

I was touched by that as my expression softened and I let out a small laugh.

"I hate it when you apologize, it makes you look like a saint"

He smiled wryly. "Can you forgive me?"

I gawp at him, dug my hand in the cake and threw it at his face.

A smile spread across my face.

"Never!" I yelled and he scoffed, trying to wipe off the smashed cake.

"Then I'd force it!" He said grabbing a fistful of cake which he throws around me.

"I just took a shower!" I protested as I sway my face gently, grabbing more piece of cake and throwing at him.

Not until there's no cake that we stopped and burst into laughter as he throws his hands over my shoulders.

But I stopped and then swallowed as the thought of being called Julius rings a bell.

I wiped my face and then drew in a long breathe.

"Julius" I muttered and his smile suddenly faded as he looked more piqued than ever.

His hand drops from shoulder as he studied me. Something must have propelled him to clear the air.

I just don't know but then he's up to something. That poster, I stole it from him, whenever I try to discuss about the boy band, he's either calling or something goes wrong.

I'm trying so hard to believe that he's just doing his research on them because him and Belle might be friends.

He's just trying to help her out. Could that be the reason why he wanted me and her to be a thing.

To be sure if I was the Julius in question. Or to expose myself with her around me?

"Why are you calling that name..."

"Dad called me that, you definitely know what's up because you were here before me, I need to know Cole, why they treat me special" I cut in, staring at him but he used a scoff to cover up.

"Did you have a fight with him?"

I grew slightly, moving to get a rag which I'd use to clean up the mess my kitchen had to through.

"Does he call me that whenever I have a fight with him?"

He licked his lower lip and the glide from the counter, heading for my lounge.

"Maybe it's a misunderstanding..."

"Call it whatever you want but I bet there's something attached to me...is my real name Julius and you guys decided to change?"

I felt he was the only who'd attend to me, and tell me what I needed to know about myself.

He was quiet again and had stopped walking as he sucked his breathe before turning around to face me.

"I can't say..."

"You want me to forgive you?" I said peering into his eyes as they widened at me.

"Tell me everything I need to know" I ordered ditching the rag in my hand on the floor and pacing closer to him.

"It's a secret and if you get to know, dad..."

"Screw that, I guess he must have disowned me by now after that argument"

"I guess as much"

"He was cheating!"

Cole didn't seem surprised by that as he only heaves.

"It's normal and besides mom knows and doesn't see a problem with that" he replied and I gasped softly shaking my head in disappointment.

He's the least that I expected to justify this action.

"Then what about her wasted years of dedication?"

"Miles, stop acting like you don't fuck around..."

"Nope, not when I have a fiancee"

Cole suddenly brawl his eyes at me like he doesn't believe a word I say.

"They've been in this together, let them be, they know how to settle their scores and besides dad still treat her right..."

"You're forgetting the violent part!" I interrupted as he ducked his head at me.

"He still hits her?"
