Chapter 4 — Hell Hath No Fury

We started the next day as if nothing had happened except for the fact that Ethan still isn’t talking to his father. The air is still filled with hatred. My dear lying ,cheating husband continued acting as if he had done nothing wrong the whole day. Everybody stayed in their corners. Ethan stayed in his room playing games on his phone. While Kirt messed with his computer or was outside in his truck. Emma and I played games, cooked, even went outside and made a snowman. I think it might have been the longest day of our lives.

The next day when I was on my computer when a notification came across my screen that Kirt had an email. “How could an email for Kirt come across my computer, I mean he has his own computer,” I whispered. I clicked on the email icon on my computer and it automatically signed into my husband's email. Of course there are a lot of emails from some girl named Amber. I clicked on the newest email that she had sent: “When are you coming back? I miss you. Can't you just leave your family there and meet me somewhere? I can’t believe that you have internet there but not cell service. Just email me back soon plz. Love you."

I don’t believe it she is pushing him to get rid of us. How could he do this to us, to his kids, we’ve been married for eighteen years. It feels like my life is falling apart.

I sign Kirt out of my computer and put a lock on it so he has to use his own computer to talk to his tramp. I started googling the berries I had picked to see what they were. Some sites called them Deadly Nightshade while others called them Belladonna. How would I feed the berries to him? Maybe I could seduce him and feed them to him like they are grapes. I couldn’t help but chuckle at that thought. They did kind of look like big purple grapes.

No, I couldn’t do that I would end up shoving them down his lying, cheating throat making sure he choked on them for everything he has done to me and the kids.

“Melissa,” Kirt called out to me from the living room. “Ugh,” I muttered under my breath. “What do you want?” I asked furious as I walked into the living room. “Can we talk?” He asked as he patted the seat beside him. “Sure, just for a minute,” I said as I sat down in a chair across from him feeling thankful that the coffee table was between us. He looked over at me with a sad look upon his face. “So what did you want to talk about,” I asked impatiently. I would have rather been doing anything else than sitting here with him. Kirt shifted in his seat clearly nervous. “I umm was wanting to apologize to you about my affair. I don’t know why I did it but I’ve ended it with her because I want us to start over."

“Oh really,” I replied as I stood up and went and grabbed his computer. I sat it on the coffee table. Then proceeded to pull up the email his little slut had sent him. When I turned it around to face him he gave me a look of shock. “You’ve been into my computer snooping,” He asked harshly.

“Seriously,” I laughed at him angrily. “You have been using MINE to get into your email and you forgot to sign out of it dumbass,” I tried to stifle a chuckle as I saw his jaw drop to the floor as he realized his fuckup.

It took him a while to regain his composure. “Yes I had been using your computer but you can see I hadn’t been on there in days plus I hadn’t even replied to the emails either,” Kirt stated pleadingly as he turned the computer around for me to see. I’m not computer savvy but I do know the basics. You can delete replies and even make it seem that you hadn’t checked an email even though you had. “That doesn’t prove anything there are ways around that besides how do I know you didn't use your computer to reply or one of your mysterious phone calls out in the pickup,” I told him as I turned the computer back to him.

Kirt sank back into the couch as if he finally realized he had been defeated. “I just want another chance to prove to you that I do love you and the kids. That I will do whatever it takes to make this up to you for the rest of my life,” He wept. He dropped his head in his hands. All I could see was crocodile tears. I took a deep breath and said. “Let me talk to the children about it because you didn’t just hurt me you hurt them as well and if they are okay with it then we will see."

He jumped up so fast from his seat he hit the coffee table with his legs and fell towards me. I couldn’t help but laugh at his excitement and clumsiness. Maybe he was telling the truth about being a better man.
