Chapter 47 Right Time

Lydia’s gaze swept over the recently completed sample clothes and the precious design sketches, a hint of heartache flickering in her eyes, but anger soon replaced it.

Seeing Lydia appear, the madness in Maggie’s eyes gradually subsided a bit. “You finally decided to show up! I’m asking you, did you arrange for someone to hurt Ron? I know you’re wealthy and powerful now, but don’t forget, all of this was supposed to be ours!”

Lydia looked at the hysterical Maggie, her angry gaze gradually cooling into pity.

She slowly curved her lips into a smirk. “Maggie, it seems it’s you who hasn’t figured things out! Last week, I officially acquired ownership of the G Group. Moreover, these things were all left to me by my mother. They have nothing to do with you!”

“Bah! Let’s not talk about property matters. How do you explain Ron’s injury?” Maggie knew the property

issue was settled, so she moved on to the matter of Ron being hurt.

Lydia frowned. “What happened to Ron?”

“Don’t play dumb with me! I know it was you! Ron was beaten and hospitalized. You must compensate us

for our losses!”

Lydia almost burst out laughing. Was Maggie insane, demanding money like this?

“I don’t know if Ron was beaten, but even if he was, it’s karma! You keep talking about compensation, but do you have any evidence that I arranged for him to be hurt? It’s ridiculous!”

Maggie was at a loss for words, but then she continued to rant, “I don’t care, you must compensate! Otherwise, I’ll stay here and make sure everyone in your company knows what a ruthless person you are,

Lydia!”

Maggie seemed to have completely shed her dignity and was ready to confront Lydia head–on.

The suppressed anger in Lydia surged again, her eyes flashing with fire. She clenched her teeth and asked, “Are you really going to continue causing a scene here?”

“What do you mean causing a scene? I’m just demanding what’s rightfully mine!” Maggie adopted a defiant posture, even sitting on a chair at the company’s entrance, indicating she wouldn’t leave unless Lydia agreed to compensate her.

Lydia’s assistant approached quietly and whispered, “Director Lin, we’ve already called the police.”

Lydia nodded and instructed her assistant, “Also, tally up the damages caused by Miss Maggie just now.”

The assistant nodded repeatedly, and the employees in the company returned to their positions, tidying up the mess caused by Maggie’s outburst.

Lydia clenched her fists. If she hadn’t restrained her emotions, she would have gone up and punched

Maggie.

But she knew if she did that, Maggie would only become more troublesome.

Lydia quickly calmed herself down and brainstormed strategies. After a moment, she walked up to Maggie. “Are you sure you want to continue causing a scene here?”

Maggie lifted her chin defiantly. “What can you do to me?”

Lydia’s eyes turned cold. “We’ve already called the police! And if you don’t mind being detained for a few days, I don’t mind making another call.”

Maggie sneered. “Are you trying to scare me? Are you going to hire thugs to beat me up too?”

Lydia smiled. “No, I dislike violence. But I don’t mind sending you to a mental hospital!”

Maggie was taken aback. “What did you say? You’re the one who’s insane!”

Lydia narrowed her eyes and lowered her voice. “At least I don’t go crazy for no reason, and I don’t randomly cause chaos in other people’s companies, do I?”

“You!” Maggie was speechless for a moment. She broke into a cold sweat, realizing that her previous behavior might indeed be judged as having a mental problem.

Seeing Maggie’s wavering gaze, Lydia knew she had played her cards right. She continued, “As your sister, I have the obligation to monitor your behavior. So, you wait here. I’ll call the mental hospital right

away. They’ll come soon.”

Maggie gritted her teeth but couldn’t do anything to Lydia. She reluctantly stood up from the chair, glaring at Lydia.

“You’re ruthless! Lydia, you wait. I won’t let you off!”

As she spoke, Maggie prepared to leave but was stopped by Lydia’s voice from behind. “Hold on!”

Maggie turned around, her expression wary. “What else do you want?”

Lydia smirked. “You’ve caused quite a mess in my studio. Don’t you think you should compensate for it?

Prima!”

Lydia’s assistant, Prima, stepped forward and handed Lydia the prepared list of damages.

Lydia waved the paper in her hand. “The list is here. Cash or card, it’s up to you!”

Maggie was dumbfounded. She had come here to cause trouble for Lydia, hoping to extort money, but

now she had to pay instead. Her face flushed with anger and embarrassment.

“Bah! Lydia, you’re dreaming! I won’t pay! And I haven’t even accounted for Ron’s injury yet!”

Maggie spoke and stormed out. This time, Lydia didn’t stop her. She just watched Maggie leave with a slight frown.

“Director, what should we do with all this?” Prima, the assistant, asked, pointing at the list of damages, especially the expensive materials used in the sample clothes. The beads alone cost a significant amount.

Lydia sneered, knowing she had the upper hand. She rubbed her temples, feeling a bit of pain. “Prima, make a copy of the video of Maggie’s disturbance and send it, along with this list, to the former chairman of the G Group. Oh, and don’t forget to send a copy to her husband too!”

Prima nodded repeatedly and went to prepare. Lydia returned to her office, thinking about Maggie’s

actions today.

She wasn’t afraid of confrontation, but if Maggie kept causing trouble like this, her employees wouldn’t be able to work. It seemed she needed to find a permanent solution.

Lydia tapped her fingers on the desk. After a long while, a faint smile appeared on her lips. Perhaps she

could start with Ron!

Two days later, Harlan and Ron received a package from Lydia. After reading its contents, Harlan exploded in anger and shouted at Maggie, “How could you be so stupid? Didn’t I tell you not to provoke Lydia? And now you not only provoked her but also left evidence!”

Maggie retorted defiantly, “So what? I just don’t like that bitch. Besides, you’ve been planning for so long,

and we have nothing to show for it!”

Harlan wanted to say more, but Mildred intervened, “Alright, Maggie did something wrong, but she did it

for the sake of our family, didn’t she?”

Harlan threw the list of damages in front of Mildred. “Look at this. Is this how she’s thinking about our

family? I think she wants to destroy this family!”

Mildred was surprised at the large sum on the list. “Harlan, how can it be so much? Is Lydia deliberately

extorting us?”

Harlan snorted. “Even if she is, we have to admit it. Maggie did do something. And every item on this list

has a price and a receipt attached. Plus, Lydia has already reported to the police. If we don’t compensate for the damages, we’ll be detained!”

Mildred’s eyes flickered. She glanced reproachfully at Maggie. “Well, Harlan, calm down. Let’s discuss

this later.”

With Mildred’s comforting, Harlan didn’t say more. But he looked at Maggie with increasing displeasure.

If he had known things would turn out like this, he wouldn’t have agreed to their plan. It would have been better to deceive Lydia as they did before.

At least the company would still be in his hands, and Natalie’s legacy wouldn’t be taken away.

Now, they had completely torn their faces with Lydia, and the duck they had in their hands had flown

away!

Harlan sighed deeply, full of regret!

Maggie was already frustrated with Lydia’s treatment, and now, hearing Harlan’s words, she became even more irritated. “Forget it, I don’t care anymore! Do whatever you want! Let’s see if that Lydia still recognizes you as her father!”

With a sneer, Maggie left without waiting for further response. From start to finish, Ron hadn’t said a word.

Not only because he couldn’t speak properly at the moment, but also because he didn’t know whose side

to take in this situation.

The quarrel was between his father and sister, and he didn’t want to get involved. 1

But since Lydia had sent over this list, he could make use of it. He needed to find opportunities to communicate with Lydia.

For now, he needed to focus on recovering from his injuries.

On the other hand, after dealing with Maggie’s matter, Lydia didn’t focus her attention on her anymore. Although she wanted to teach them a lesson, she needed to find the right timing.

A week later, Lydia received the compensation from Harlan. Looking at the exact amount, she smirked.

It seemed the time was right!
