Chapter 43 Give me a few days to calm down
While all this unfolded, Wythe had already been whisked away by Nydia and Odgen for comfort.
In their eyes, with a mother who would resort to physical punishment regardless of the situation, Wythe
must have endured a lot over the years.
Even though Wythe earnestly admitted that today was indeed his fault for leaving his mom without
saying anything, causing her to worry and leading to her resorting to physical discipline, they couldn’t accept his explanation!
Lydia’s head was still spinning, and she felt dazed by the current situation. Why did a simple dinner end
up unexpectedly leading to the discovery of Wythe’s biological father?
Everything that happened six years ago replayed like a movie in Lydia’s mind, making her face even paler, her steps somewhat unsteady.
Seeing her expression, Lambert quickly reached out and pulled her into his arms. “Lydia, I’m so happy! I
never expected you to be Jamie’s mother! It must be fate!”
For the first time, Lambert sincerely thanked the heavens, not only for finding the love of his life but also for discovering they had such a lovely child!
Initially worried about how to deal with the child’s mother, Lambert was overjoyed to find out that the
child’s mother was the woman he had fallen for not long ago!
This made Lambert ecstatic!
In contrast, Lydia was in turmoil.
She glanced at Lambert with a complex expression, pushed him away, and slowly walked to Wythe’s side. “Let’s go back!”
Seeing his mother’s distressed expression, Wythe sensed that things might escalate.
He didn’t say much, simply slid down from Nydia’s arms and walked over to Lydia, holding her hand.
“Actually, my real name is Wythe Gilford. Jamie is just my gaming name. And I’ve said before, wherever my mom is, I’ll be there! So, let’s go home for now! Goodbye!”
“Lydia…”
“Are you okay, Lydia?”
Before Lambert could finish his sentence, an abrupt voice interrupted him.
Then, Lambert saw a tall, elegant man standing beside Lydia.

His expression darkened instantly because he could sense obvious hostility emanating from the man!
Lydia had no mood to deal with anything else at the moment.
She needed a quiet space to think things through. The chaotic situation left her unsure of what to do!
As Lambert glanced at Andrew, Andrew was also observing Lambert. Based on Lambert and Lydia’s previous interactions, Andrew vaguely sensed danger.
His intuition told him that there seemed to be some inexplicable emotions between Lydia and this man.
He furrowed his brows slightly, hoping it was just his imagination.
But the next moment, Andrew realized that it wasn’t just his imagination!
Because Lambert had already stepped forward and grabbed Lydia’s hand, speaking without hesitation,”
We need to talk!”
Lydia looked up at him, her eyes filled with confusion and helplessness, like a rabbit lost in a foggy
forest, not knowing which way to go.
After a long while, Lydia lowered her eyes, slowly but firmly pulling her hand out of Lambert’s grip. ” Lambert, I need some time to think about this. Let’s not contact each other for a few days.”
Lambert’s previous joy vanished instantly. He couldn’t understand why Lydia would reject something
that was clearly a good thing?
But clearly, Lydia had made up her mind.
She bit her lip, grabbed Wythe’s hand, and turned to leave.
Wythe glanced back at Lambert before resolutely following his mother’s footsteps.
As for Andrew, the moment Lydia left, he followed suit.
Left behind, Odgen and Nydia wore grim expressions, while Lambert remained silent, his deep eyes
revealing nothing of his thoughts.
After a moment, Lambert spoke up, “In a couple of days, I’ll bring Lydia and Wythe home.”
Nydia’s face changed. “My grandson can come! But not that woman!”
Even the usually gentle Odgen frowned. “I don’t agree either!”
Lambert looked up, his gaze cold. “Mom, Dad, I’m just informing you!”
With that said, Lambert didn’t hesitate to turn and leave. Nydia watched his retreating figure, her face turning purple with anger, then turned to Odgen. “See that! Look at his attitude!”

Odgen’s expression also turned serious. It seemed he would have to thoroughly investigate this woman!

Lydia brought Wythe straight home, and Andrew, sensing her mood, didn’t press further and simply suggested they have dinner together another time.
Back at home, Lydia locked herself in her room, her mind swirling with memories of her interactions
with Lambert, from their first meeting to the bewildering rush of feelings, to the shocking realization that
he was Wythe’s biological father. All of it left Lydia feeling overwhelmed.
Most importantly, at the moment of learning Lambert was Wythe’s father, Lydia didn’t feel joy, but rather
fear.
Especially seeing Lambert’s parents casually whisk Wythe away, Lydia felt like her child was being completely taken from her!
She believed that their family had the capability to do so! And what stance would Lambert, who had sparked some feelings in her previously, take in this matter? She didn’t think he would compromise for
her!
After sorting through the chaotic thoughts in her mind, Lydia opened the door and found Wythe standing there with his head down, looking utterly defeated.
“I’m sorry, Mom. Did I do something wrong?”
Lydia’s eyes welled up with tears as she crouched down to embrace Wythe.
“Darling, even if I lose the whole world, I can’t lose you!” She was extremely worried that they might snatch away her baby; her child was her only emotional anchor.
Wythe quickly reassured her, “It won’t happen, Mom. You won’t lose me! Wherever you are, I’ll be there!”
He loved his mom more than anyone else; no one could compare to her,
Lydia tightened her arms around him, still feeling somewhat unsettled. Hopefully, it would be as Wythe said!
Once Lydia had calmed down completely, she sat down and carefully asked Wythe how he had recognized Lambert,
Wythe recounted the events truthfully, then nestled beside Lydia with his head lowered. “Mom, did I do something wrong?”
Lydia reached out and stroked her son’s face gently. “Yes, you did. At least, you shouldn’t have kept everything from Mom! I know you’re very clever and have your own thoughts and judgments, but the world isn’t as simple as you imagine, and many things have more than one way of handling them!” 1

Wythe looked up at Lydia’s serious face, and Lydia sighed deeply. “Regarding your haste to find your father, it’s not necessarily wrong, but your method might not have been right! When you went for the paternity test, did you consider what would happen if he disregarded your wishes and forcefully took you away after knowing you were his son?”
“I could run back!” Wythe murmured softly.
“But what if you couldn’t?” Lydia pressed.
Wythe hung his head and fell silent, while Lydia continued, “And if your biological father isn’t Lambert but someone you don’t even know, do you realize how dangerous it is to recklessly try to establish
patemity?”
Wythe seemed completely dejected now, as if all his reasons had suddenly evaporated, because he realized his mother’s reasoning was sound.
While his little cleverness sometimes worked, this time, he had been too careless, even going to find his
father without asking for Mom’s opinion.
Seeing Wythe truly acknowledge his mistake, Lydia softened her tone slightly. “Darling, Mom was also
wrong today. I shouldn’t have hit you. I’m sorry!”
“It’s okay, Mom. I know you were just worried at that time! I won’t leave without telling you in the future.”
Lydia nodded and was about to say something when her phone rang.
It was Lambert calling. Lydia’s expression became complicated. After a moment of hesitation, she
decided to hang up. She didn’t know how to face him right now.
On the other end, Lambert, after the call was disconnected, sighed with resignation.
After some thought, he sent a message.
“Lydia, I’ve just learned that you’re Wythe’s mother. I don’t know how to feel about it, but I’m pleasantly surprised!”
Lydia stared at the message on her phone, sinking into a long silence.
She tossed the phone onto the sofa, then picked it up again after a moment, repeating this several times before finally composing a message,
“I’m sorry. Give me a few days to calm down.”
“Okay! I’ll wait for you!”
Receiving Lydia’s message, Lambert’s furrowed brow finally relaxed.
He gazed at his phone for a while with deep eyes before setting it aside and getting up to do something
