Chapter 50 Chapter Fifty
I pull my knees into my chest, hugging them tightly. Something I have done since I was a kid to soothe myself. “I’m so stupid.”
Reece brushes a strand of hair from my face, rubbing my cheek with his thumb. “You are not stupid baby. There is absolutely nothing stupid about wanting a real family Christmas.”
I wipe my eyes with the back of my hand. “I just feel like an idiot for getting my hopes up. Mom is never going to change I am just going to have to get used to that.”
“We can still have a good Christmas baby. I will make sure this is the best Christmas you’ve ever had.” Reece says, leaning in to kiss my forehead.
I give him a small smile. “Thank you, Reece. You don’t know how much that means to me. I am already so lucky just having you in my life.”
Reece smiles at me. “Me too baby. We are going to have an amazing Christmas, with or without our parents’ okay baby.”
I nod my head. “Okay.”
“I love you baby.”
I smile, a real genuine happy smile. Just those four little words are enough to set my whole body on fire. “I love you too Reece.”
Reece readjusts himself on the bed, putting his back against the headboard. “Come here baby.” Reece says, gently pulling me back against him.
Letting go of my knees I let myself relax into his warm embrace. We settle into a warm comfortable silence, with nothing but the sound of our hearts beating. Reece traces small circles on my shoulder, leaning his head against mine. We stay that way for several minutes, almost long enough for me to doze off until the door creaks open.
I know I should pull away from Reece, knowing it could be my mom or his dad, but I don’t. At this point I don’t care what they think about our relationship. Especially since they obviously don’t care about us. “Hey, are you okay love?” Raikin peeks his head in the door.
He glances between me and Reece, and smiles. “Yeah. I’m doing better now.”
Reece kisses the top of my head. Raikin steps in the room, closing the door behind him. “Are you sure love? I came in here to comfort you.” He says giving me a mischievous smile, that makes me laugh.
“Weelll.” I say drawing the word out, giving him a flirty smile. “In that case I’m very upset.”
Raikin smiles, walking over to the other side of the bed. I pat the empty spot beside me, and he climbs in, scooting as close as he can to me. I have to admit I really like the feeling of being sandwiched between the two of them. Feeling their body heat enveloping me on both sides is a very nice feeling.
Raikin puts his hand on my thigh, rubbing gently. “Seriously though baby, are you really okay? You were pretty upset earlier.”
I glance down at his hand on my thigh, feeling a little embarrassed, I didn’t mean to air mine and mom’s baggage in front of everyone like that earlier. It just kind of happened, heat of the moment and all.
“I’m okay. My mom is the same person she has been all my life, getting married didn’t change her, and I should have known better than to think it would have. But it’s okay, Reece and I have decided we are going to have an amazing Christmas without our parents, just the four of us.” I say smiling over at Reece.
Raikin gives my thigh a gentle squeeze. “That sounds perfect baby. We could definitely use a good Christmas for once around here.”
Reece nods his head. “For real bro.”
Raikin kisses the side of my head. “We will have to do something special for our first official Christmas as a couple.”
As a couple. I will never get used to that. The four of us are a couple. We aren’t a traditional couple in any way. In fact, I don’t even know if they make a name for the type of couple we are. I might have to look that up or something. I know one thing for sure, no matter what you call us. I love being with them. They make me feel like the luckiest girl in the world.
“Maybe we can cook some food and deserts and lay around the house in our pajamas all day watching movies, being lazy.” I suggest shyly, glancing between the two of them.
Reece smiles. “I love the sound of that baby.”
Raikin chuckles. “Me too baby. Maybe we can lose the pajama part though.”
Reece and I both laugh, and I bump into Raikin’s shoulder playfully. “I should have known you were going to say that.
Raikin puts his hands in the air, shrugging his shoulders. “Hey baby, I can’t help it, I love looking at your naked body.”
I feel my cheeks heat up and I laugh. “I love your body too, Raikin. You are sexy as hell.” I say leaning over to kiss his cheek.
Raikin smiles, and I think he might have just blushed a little. “Thank you, baby.” I give him a quick peck on the lips and turn to Reece doing the same to him.
Knock, knock, knock. Before I can say come in the door opens. “Are you guys having a party without me?” Ryder says, flashing me a boyish smile.
“Fuck yeah we are.” Reece says and I laugh.
“Screw you dude.” Ryder says flipping his brother off and this time we all laugh.
Crossing my legs in front of me I pat the empty part at the end of the bed. “It’s not a party without you Ryder.”
Ryder gives Reece a smug look like he won something and climbs onto the bed with us. “Thank you baby. Are you doing okay?”
I smile. “Yeah, Reece and Raikin cheered me up. My mom is just a bitch, I should have known something like this would happen. Just because it’s Christmas doesn’t mean she cares anymore about me than she used to.”
Ryder puts his hand on my knee. “I’m sorry baby. We got you okay baby. We are here for you no matter what baby.”
“Thank you Ryder. You don’t know how much it means to me to have you guys in my life.”
Ryder chuckles. “Trust me baby, I think we have an idea of how you are feeling.”
“Lilly wants to lay around naked all day on Christmas watching movies and eating.” Reece tells Ryder, my eyes go wide, and I feel my cheeks heat up instantly.
“T-That is not what I said.”
Reece laughs and I smack his thigh. “Seriously dude, I swear she told me she just wants to spend the whole day naked.”
Ryder and Raikin laugh. “I didn’t say that!” I say exasperatedly.
Reece laughs even harder. “No, she just wants us to cook together and watch some movies. The naked part was my idea.” Reece winks at me, and I glare at him giving him the evil eye.
Ryder gives me a mischievous smile. “I mean I wouldn’t mind the naked part either, a naked Christmas sounds like an amazing Christmas to me.”
