Chapter 226 Chapter Two Hundred and Twenty-Six
Chapter 226 Chapter Two Hundred and Twenty-Six
I glance over at Raikin. He looks like he is about to laugh as well. "They should be down here in a minute." Raikin says.
"Okay." Dad says, as he gives the two of us a curious look. He doesn't say anything else though. I'm sure he knows what's going on. He's not an idiot, I just don't think he wants to hear the dirty details of our sex life.
I set the table and right as dad is putting the food on the table, Reece and Lilly come walking in to the dining room. It looks like they took a shower. “Hey guys, dinner just got done.” Dad says, as he sets the rest of the food on the table.
“Thanks for cooking Dad. It smells good.” Reece says, as he pulls Lilly’s chair out. She sits down and smiles at him.
“Thank you.” She whispers, she turns her attention to Dad. “Thank you for cooking, Curtis.”
“You guys don’t have to thank me. Everything is ready. Let’s eat.” Dad says.
We all fix our plates and start eating. “This is really good, Dad.” I say, as I take another bite.
“It is really good.” Lilly says, agreeing with me.
“I’m glad you guys like it.” Dad says, as he looks around the table at all of us. “Did you guys need any help with wedding planning or anything?”
“How about all of it?” I say, half joking, half serious.
Dad laughs. “I knew you would say that. What all do you guys have planned, so far?”
I look at Reece, Raikin and Lilly. The three of them smile, looking like they want to laugh. “We know the date.” Raikin says.
“Oh, and we want to have it here at the house.” Reece adds.
“And I got a dress.” Lilly says, smiling excitedly.
Dad laughs. “Well, that sounds like a pretty good start. I will help you guys with the rest. You need food, cake, flowers, music, and other stuff like that. Do you have any ideas on what you want for that stuff?” Dad asks.
Lilly laughs nervously, shaking her head. “Sorry, we are really bad at this.”
Dad smiles at her. “It’s okay, sweetie. How about you guys think about it over the next couple of days and make me a list? I can call some places and get everything set up for you.”
“Thank you, Dad. We will make some plans and give you a list.” I say, smiling at him.
“Thank you, Curtis.” Lilly says.
“You guys are welcome. It’s what parents are for. We are supposed to help you with stuff like that.” Dad says.
“Can I ask you something?” Lilly asks, looking at dad with a nervous expression.
Dad nods his head. “Yes, of course. Ask me anything.”
“I was hoping you would walk me down the aisle on our wedding day.” Lilly says, hesitantly.
Dad smiles from ear to ear, looking like he is so happy he could cry. "It would be an absolute honor to walk you down the aisle Lilly." He says, looking at her the same way he has looked at us millions of times over the years, with so much love and support. Our dad loves Lilly like she is one of his kids and technically she is, but she's not related by blood and I have heard some serious horror stories from people at school with evil, awful step parents. So, I know he doesn't have to love her the same way he loves us. I am glad he does though.
Lilly looks surprised, like she actually thought there was even a chance he would say no. "Really?" She asks.
"Yes, really thank you so much for trusting me enough to ask me." Dad says.
Lilly jumps up from her seat and goes over to our dad, wrapping her arms around him. "Thank you Curtis. I love you." She says, sounding like she is about to cry. Honestly if she did start crying I wouldn't be sure if it was happiness, pregnancy hormones or both at this point. Either way, I'm just happy to see her happy.
"I love you too, Lilly. You don't have to thank me." Dad says, as he hugs her back.
I look over at Reece and Raikin they look just as happy as I'm sure I do right now. Nothing makes me happier than seeing Lilly happy. That is really the only goal I have for our marriage. I just want to make her as happy as I possibly can for the rest of our lives.
Dad kisses Lilly on the side of her head, patting her back and Lilly pulls back, wiping away a tear. "Oh, don't cry sweetheart."
"I'm sorry. I'm just so glad you said yes." She says, wiping another tear.
Dad laughs softly. "The hormones from your baby are kicking your butt aren't they?"
Lilly laughs, nodding her head. "Yes. They are." She says, still crying.
Dad smiles at her. "It will all be worth it in the end when that sweet baby boy or girl gets here."
"I can't wait, I already love this baby so much. I just want to have him or her here with us." Lilly says.
"Are you hoping we have a boy or girl, dad?" Raikin asks.
Dad smiles. "Honestly, I couldn't care less if it's a boy or girl, as long as he or she is happy, and healthy. Then I will be happy."
"Us too." Reece says.
"Are you guys going to find out what you are having when the doctor says you can or are you going to wait?" Dad asks.
Me, Reece, Raikin and Lilly all share a look. "I think we are going to wait." Reece says, looking at the three of us.
Lilly nods her head. "Yeah, we are going to wait. I think Logan wants us to the gender from the doctor in an envelope or something though." She says.
Dad quirks an eyebrow at her. "Why would he want that?"
We all laugh. "Everyone now a days is doing gender reveal parties. You know, you find someone you trust. Then they plan your party for you, using something to surprise the parents like a pink or blue inside of a cake or something along that line." Lilly explains.
Dad smiles. "Oh yeah, I have heard of those before. That sounds like fun. Tell Logan if he wants to throw one of those parties he can do it here and if he needs any help with anything let me know. I would be more than happy to help set up, buy supplies or whatever he needs." Dad says.
"We will tell him." Lilly says. "You will be invited to the party by the way. If or when he does it, we want you to be there."
Dad smiles. "I wouldn't miss it. Have you guys picked any names out yet? You know boy or girl names? Names that work for a boy or girl? Anything?" He asks, looking at us.
