Chapter 26
Logan
Two weeks later
I called Megan that evening while she was at work, and since then, we have been on two more dates. The second date was a little more relaxed. I’d taken her for dinner and a movie, but as we had gotten on the same page about where we were going regarding dating. We ended up talking about other things. On the third date, we went to an escape room with Carl and his latest fling.
Tonight is our fourth date.
Megan picked what we were to do this time, and I can say without a doubt that rollerblading is not my thing, although it was worth falling on my arse to see Megan laugh. I don’t think I have ever seen her smile so much.
“Are you ok?” she asks me as I sit on one of the benches provided.
“I think you should be the one to keep taking Ella here,” I say as I dab at my elbow with some gauze one of the employees had given me.
“How are you this bad at it?” she asks and skates around me, making the mini skirt she’s wearing twirl around her. “Did you not rollerblade as a kid? Or don’t they do that in England?” she asks.
“I was more into sports and other things,” I answer. She smiles and skates around me before sitting down next to me. “Do you want to stay here or head for something to eat?” I ask. She tilts her head in thought.
“We could,” she says
“Or?” I ask as I feel she has something else in mind.
“Nothing,” she stands and holds her hand out to help me back to the changing area. I frown as we change out of our rollerblades.
Taking her hand in mine as we walk out of the roller rink, I pull her closer to me as flashing lights blind us. It would seem the paparazzi have found us. I steer us towards my car, all while ignoring the questions shouted at us.
“Is it always like this?” she asks once we’re in the car.
“Yeah, there’s the odd one or two who are a little nicer,” I tell her as I reverse out of the parking lot.”Where do you want to eat?” I ask and glance at her to see her shrug her shoulders.
“Where would you normally eat?”
“Well, I’m usually working on a Friday night,”
“What do you mean?”
“Well, I like to visit some of the bars I own, see how they’re doing, or if they’ve made the improvements they promised,” I explain. “Before you called for this date, I had planned to go see how Underground Masked is doing,” I state.
“Oh, yeah, it opened this week. I’ve not been down there yet.”
“Do you intend to?”
“I’m not sure, Courtney went to the opening, she said it’s really nice. And then she made a joke about maybe taking one of her many guy friends. Although I don’t entirely believe it to be a joke,”
“Did Elena speak to you about working on that floor?” I ask.
“She asked if any of us wanted to, I’m not sure my clientele would just be ok with Aphrodite being a waitress in a sex club, they’d probably want me as an act or something,” she explains. “That I could not do, if I’m going to go to the Underground, it would be as myself,” she adds.
“I see,” I say.
“Why don’t we go?” she asks. I frown and then look at her to see she’s been serious. “You can see how things are going, and I get to see what the fuss is about,”
“I don’t think that’s a good idea.” I’m surprised she’s even suggested it. I would have thought a sex club is the last place she’d ever want to be in. “A sex club probably isn’t your kind of thing.”
“What makes you say that?” she asks with a tilt of her head, and I’m not sure if she’s annoyed or genuinely asking me a question.
“I just think it might be a bit triggering for you, is all,” I say carefully. “I mean, last time we had a conversation about what I enjoyed sexually, you…urm…” I trail off, not knowing what to say. I glance at her to see her still waiting for me to finish. “I just don’t think we should go,” I firmly say.
“I could just go without you,”
“No,” I say all too quickly. Megan chuckles and relaxes back into her seat.
“You should know, Logan, I like sex,” she states and hearing her say that makes me hard. Is she out to tease me? “A lot,” she adds. I clear my throat as my jeans become a bit too tight. “When you left, I was talking to Sara about what I like and how to overcome the negative feelings I associated with sex. Then I moved to LA and did my own research,” she explains. “Probably not as much as you,” she adds, and I sigh.
“I didn’t,” she cuts me off.
“Don’t lie, I don’t really care, we weren’t together, if I were to meet anyone you slept with and I knew you had, then I’d be jealous. I can’t hold your past against you when we weren’t together,” she explains. We get to a traffic light, and I turn to her.
“You should know I’m jealous of every man you’ve ever slept with,” I pause. “I’m annoyed that you didn’t do your research with me.”
“I could show you my findings,” she says with a sexy smirk. I moved my hand onto her leg; her skirt rode up when she crossed her legs. I lean towards her and kiss her. Her fingers stroke through my hair. I pull away before I forget where I am.
“I believe you have piercings to show me,” I say, and I watch as her pupils dilate. If she has the piercings I think she has I think it’s going to be a very good night. I turn back to the road and watch as the light turns green.
