Stephanie nodded.
The lawyer’s letter was also a way to test things out, and Stephanie wanted to see what Roxanne was really thinking.
She always felt that there was something weird about the way Roxanne acted.
***
At night.
Roxanne was picking out a dress for tomorrow night.
With her was Pauwia’s caregiver.
“Ms. Gregg, wasn’t the buzz from the last livestream still going on? Why did you still go to the charity dinner?”
The caregiver didn’t get it: “According to what’s written in your medical record, your body couldn’t handle such intense work.”
Roxanne looked away and turned to the caregiver: “Well, then I’ll trouble you to help me figure out a way to cover up this lie.”
The caregiver opened their mouth like they wanted to say something, but in the end, they just closed it.
Roxanne glared at herself in the mirror: “With how popular I was and my relationship with Maxwell, the Haraville socialite dinner didn’t even invite me. I really don’t get what they were thinking!”
“But it didn’t matter that I wasn’t invited, I was going to go, and I was

going to stick with Max as her plus–one!”
Roxanne curled her lips and practiced a weak, sweet smile in the mirror.
“I still wanted to hype it up a lot, best if it pissed Stephanie off.”
“If she saw me standing in the spot next to Max that was supposed to be hers, would she feel sad and disappointed and leave for somewhere far away, hahaha…”
Roxanne was full of confidence.
Just then, her email showed a new message.
Roxanne frowned a little, walked over, and opened the email.
It was the lawyer’s letter from “A Glimmer of Love.”
It was written very clearly above, telling Roxanne to stop the
infringement.
One of the caregivers saw it and immediately panicked.
She said, “Ms. Gregg, what should we do?”
Roxanne first frowned and looked it over carefully, then she checked it on an online platform, and then she laughed.
“It’s okay.”
She kept picking out clothes and said casually, “You just don’t get it.”
“They were testing me.”
The caregiver didn’t get it.
Roxanne patiently explained, “If they really wanted to hold me

responsible, then they should have made this lawyer’s letter public, not just sent it to my email.”
“I still didn’t get it.” The caregiver looked confused.
“They wanted to see how I handled it,” Roxanne said. “If I freaked out and got scared like you, then they could just ask for whatever they wanted.”
The caregiver still didn’t get it: “So what should I do?”
“Just keep fishing, ignore them.” Roxanne laughed and picked out a dress from all the gowns.
She said, “Because Jeremiah didn’t dare do anything to me, after all, I was not only Maxwell’s person now, but also a… miserable, pitiful person who was about to die.”
As she spoke, Roxanne put on that classic tough but tragic look.
“If Jeremiah didn’t want to get killed by his two brothers, he’d better not mess with public opinion.”
After Roxanne finished speaking, she tossed the stuff to the caregiver, told them to iron it well, and then went to bed.

Time flew by.
The next evening came quickly.
Early in the morning, Jeremiah came over and took Stephanie away.
McKayla wasn’t happy again and said Stephanie still needed to rest.
It was still Patrick who convinced McKayla.

Watching the two leave, McKayla helplessly looked at her brother.
“Bro, you just let Jeremiah take her away like that?”
Patrick nodded. “Yeah.”
“But she…”
“Kayla, don’t bring this up lately. Some things, if you go too far, it just backfires,” Patrick said.
McKayla wanted to say something, but in the end she just nodded.
She also knew that for many years, the person Stephanie liked had always been Maxwell, and she never had any romantic feelings for her brother.
Patrick didn’t want to say more and changed the subject: “By the way, did you get the stuff when you went to pick it up yesterday?”
“Yeah, got it, just had a bit of a problem,” McKayla said.
Later, it was Alaina who secretly went to get the phone. She used a newly bought phone, swapped the phone case, and before signing the confidentiality agreement, she took out the old phone.
So, even if a confidentiality agreement was signed later, the leak happened before the contract was signed.
At first, McKayla was surprised and thought, they already took the phones, so how could they swap them out so easily?
Because those phones were just kept in a drawer in an office, and sometimes people came in and out.
Later, I found out they weren’t afraid to take them because all the phones had already been wiped.
