After a while, Stephanie’s phone started vibrating.
She glanced at it, it was a call from Estrella.
She thought about it and still decided to pick up.
“What is it?” Stephanie said.
“Stephanie, my brother was sick.” Estrella’s angry voice came through, “He was in the hospital, all alone. Aren’t you coming to see him?”
Stephanie frowned a little and said, “He didn’t tell you?”
“What did you say?” Estrella was still mad.
Stephanie thought for a moment, and Leonard appeared in front of her.
“Nothing.” Stephanie said.
Maybe he needed a few days to tell the Humphrey family they were already divorced.
In that failed marriage, Leonard was really good to her. Let Maxwell talk about it himself. But if Maxwell never said anything, she wouldn’t have kept it a secret either.
“Stephanie, you…”
Before Estrella could finish, Stephanie already cut in, “I know he’s sick, okay, I have things to do.”
After saying that, he just hung up the phone.

For this kind of calling her out, she didn’t need to bother anymore,
Estrella called again, and she just set Estrella to Do Not Disturb.
Then. Stephanie kept waiting.
She leaned on the long lounge chair, looking at the city’s thousands of lights.
This city was always so busy, and even late at night, it was still brightly lit.
Finally…
“Buzz buzz…”
Stephanie’s phone started vibrating.
Stephanie looked down and saw it was a call from Leonard.
She took a deep breath, calmed herself down, and answered the phone.
“Sir Humphrey.” Stephanie said gently.
“Steph.” Leonard’s voice sounded old and tired. He didn’t notice that she didn’t call him grandpa anymore.
After Leonard called her name, he didn’t speak right away. Instead, he sighed and then said, “What happened between you and Maxwell?”
Stephanie didn’t know how to answer.
“I knew you were mad, him and that Roxanne!” When he mentioned Roxanne, there was obvious anger in Leonard’s voice, “Your grandma said she’d go settle things with Roxanne another day!”
An old woman’s voice came from the side: “Yeah, Steph, before we even wanted that brat to handle it himself, but now it looks like he

really doesn’t know what’s good for him! I’ll go find Roxanne myself!”
Obviously it was Jennifer.
Stephanie felt complicated inside–she was touched, but also helpless.
She was already divorced from Maxwell.
And she didn’t plan to get remarried.
So, whether Jennifer went to find Roxanne or not, it had nothing to do with her anymore.
Thinking about it, Stephanie said, “No need.”
“Steph…”
“There were some things, Maxwell. he hadn’t told you yet,” Stephanie said gently. “There were some things I wasn’t in a position to bring up myself, he would talk to you about them later.”
There were a few seconds of silence over there, then Leonard asked, “Steph, is there something wrong between you two?”
Stephanie looked at the stars and thought for a bit, then said, “It’s nothing big, just something that needs him to bring up.”
Just like, back then, he was the one who took her to kneel in front of Leonard’s hospital bed.
Back then, I also wanted him to speak first.
“I’m a bit tired, I’ll go to bed first.” Without giving the two a chance to ask more, Stephanie said good night and then hung up the phone.
Looking at the screen that was already hung up, Stephanie let out a long sigh of relief.

This call ended, then I could go to sleep.
It was just that, before she lay down, she got a message.
Stephanie clicked it open and saw it was a cat, and the cat even did a somersault.
There was a line below-“My cat could do backflips.”
“Childish.” Stephanie smiled, tossed her phone aside, and went to sleep.
On the other side, the Wilkinson’s mansion.
Harrison was teasing the ragdoll that Lennon kept.
“Backflip plushie, awesome!” Harrison nodded and gave the kitten a little treat.
“One more, do that ‘Open! Open! Turn the tables!‘ Come on!” Harrison was still over there training the cat.
But the kitten already ignored Harrison, lazily ran over, and jumped into Lennon’s arms.
Lennon smiled and reached out to scratch the kitten’s chin, and the kitten purred contentedly.

Some things happened in the next two days.
First, the thing between Stephanie and Maxwell was up online for a whole night.
Then the next day when they woke up, there was new news.
This news was about Roxanne’s micro–short drama called “A Glimmer

of Love“-the teaser trailer was released.
The show was called “A Glimmer of Roxie“, just changed one word, combining Roxanne’s diminutive.
It was about two people who met and fell in love, but in the end, one of them got sick and died. It was a sad story.
