Chapter 190
“Is there a problem? Was it sent back?” Stephanie frowned.
But Jeremiah just shook his head.
“This one was the document submitted by the Humphrey Group,” Jeremiah–said.
What?
Stephanie didn’t get it.
“When our people went to submit the report this morning, they replied to us that before us, the Humphrey Group had already reserved this program.”
Jeremiah nodded at the file: “Our guys got this, this was the Humphrey Group’s idea.”
“Of course, there were some other things too. Anyway, the news was that this show wouldn’t just suddenly disappear.”
Listening to Jeremiah, Stephanie frowned,
So, what was the reason?
“I used to think Maxwell was sick too.” Jeremiah was still rummaging through something, and he said, “Isn’t this just like the left and right brain fighting each other? But then I remembered something.”
Jeremiah handed another document to Stephanie.
After the third round ended, Maxwell’s people came over and said they’d give “Daphne” compensation.
“Actually, just forget about compensation, his meaning was clear, hush money, so I wouldn’t tell anyone that ‘A Glimmer of Love‘ wasn’t written by Roxanne herself.”
“I turned it down without even thinking back then,” Jeremiah said, “Maybe this time, he’s using it to make a trade.”
Jeremiah shrugged. “Of course, maybe he thought he went too far and really wanted to make it up to you.”
Stephanie looked at the file.
She didn’t care what plans she had for Maxwell.
Whether it was compensation or just to shut her up, it wouldn’t change her plan.
“The Wilkinson family I really didn’t get it, can you ask them when you have time?” Jeremiah said. “Maybe Harrison was chasing stars? Then you should sign more autographs for him.”
Stephanie didn’t say anything.
Maybe later she could go ask about the Wilkinson family, but right now, there were only two things she needed to do.
First, I prepared for “The Ethereal Voice” final.
Stephanie was busy with all kinds of things all day.
Serena’s card was put back into the phone.
Milton set up a blocker for her, so those random calls and texts didn’t come through anymore.

It was just that a lot of people coming in were testing the waters.
Asked her on the Serena about her relationship with the Humphrey Group and the Wilkinson Group.
Stephanie just ignored everything
Very soon, this day was over.
Stephanie went to pick up Belinda after school.
From far away, she saw Belinda in the crowd.
Belinda also saw her.
Then came over with a big smile.
Stephanie also squatted down and held Belinda tightly.
“Auntie Stephanie!” Belinda called out crisply.
“Well, Belinda!” Stephanie fixed Belinda’s clothes.
“What did Belinda want to eat? Should I take you to eat it?” Stephanie smiled and pinched Belinda’s cheek, saying, “Except for…”
“Ice cream!” Stephanie and Belinda said at the same time.
Both of them laughed.
Belinda couldn’t eat this because of her illness.
e and more in sync.
They got more and more
Stephanie got Belinda’s clothes ready, then took her to sit in the little pavilion nearby
Poured some warm water for Belinda again.
Belinda actually wanted to talk to Stephanie too.
She thought about Maxwell going to see her last night all day.
“Auntie Stephanie, I wanted to ask you something.” Belinda finally. spoke.
Stephanie took the cup Belinda handed over and looked at her seriously.
In the morning, she felt like Belinda had something she wanted to tell
her.
Belinda hesitated a bit, then carefully asked, “Do you still like Maxwell?”
Stephanie didn’t know why she asked this.
But she still answered, “No.”
Belinda obviously breathed a sigh of relief.
Made Stephanie laugh: “What’s wrong?”
“Last night he went to Haraville Orphanage to see me, and he bought me a lot of stuff, but I didn’t take any of it.” Belinda told what
happened last night.
“Later I also heard the dean secretly tell me he donated to Haraville Orphanage.”
As Belinda spoke, Stephanie couldn’t help but frown.
Maxwell, went to see Belinda?
Last night.
The wind blew gently, and a Maybach stopped by the roadside not far

away.
In the back seat of the Maybach, Maxwell looked up at the mother and daughter not far away.
The little girl’s crisp, slightly nervous voice came through the crack in the car window.
“Auntie Stephanie. I told Maxwell you didn’t like him, told him not to hurt you again.” the little girl said in her soft voice. “I also told him not to come looking for me. I said he wasn’t my dad.”
“Auntie Stephanie, will you blame me?” she said, looking at Stephanie.
Stephanie smiled and pinched Belinda’s cheek, “How could that be? Don’t worry.”
