Ava took two deep breaths, turned to look at Gilbert and said, "Gilbert, thank you, but I really do have something to do with him at the Thomas Villa today."
Gilbert looked at her for two seconds without saying anything.

Barry curled his lips, thinking Joseph's expression meant he also thought Ava was talking big. He replied, "Yeah."
"She's quite sharp-tongued. Guess what she said? She said she would prove to everyone with one cured patient after another, one successful surgery after another, that the director position must be hers.
