Chapter 43: Ava Get Out of the Thomas Villa
"Let me go." Ava's eyes turned ice cold.
"Why are you here again? I told you you're not allowed in the Thomas Villa! Someone throw Ava out." Ursa pointed angrily at the door.
Ava's full attention was on Victor. Her gaze refused to leave him even from afar, completely missing what Ursa said. Ursa thought Ava was deliberately ignoring her, which made her even more furious. If she wasn't trying to maintain her dignity, she would've thrown Ava out herself.
"Are you even listening to me? Don't you have any manners? When an elder is speaking..."
Ava carefully went over the treatment process she'd given Victor. She knew every acupuncture point was crucial. Victor's body was so weak that she'd thought through every single step carefully, being extra cautious. So she was certain there were no problems with the treatment itself.
Then where did things go wrong?
"Ava!" Ursa was furious. "You're just..."
"What did you just say?" Ava's cold gaze finally turned to Ursa. Looking at Ursa's about-to-explode expression, she even had several new wrinkles from anger.
Ursa froze for a moment, then got even angrier.
"Mom, calm down. Ava came to treat Grandpa."
"Treat him?" Ursa laughed coldly, full of disdain. "It's not her place to treat Grandpa. She only graduated high school - what qualifies her to treat Victor?"
"Mom..." Hayden was speechless. Ursa's prejudice against Ava was just too deep - there was no way she'd believe it. If he kept talking, it would only make things worse. The most effective approach was still to deal with Joshua first.
"Is Grandpa okay?" Mia rushed in, one of her high heels broken, her clothes soaked in several places. She looked just as disheveled as Ava, if not more.
Seeing this, Ursa's heart softened. "Mia, what happened to you?"
"Sorry, I lost my composure. I was so worried about Grandpa that I rushed over and accidentally ended up like this." Mia looked embarrassed.
But worrying about Victor was fake - she was really afraid that with Ava's arrival, the truth would come out.
"Mr. Myers, how is Grandpa?" Mia seemed extremely concerned about Victor. She held Ursa's hand and looked at Barry.
"I don't know what went wrong. When we examined Victor last time, his condition had improved so much. How could he suddenly have an episode?" Barry sat to the side, completely puzzled.
"Could there be a problem with the prescription?" Ursa asked worriedly. Although she trusted Mia's medical skills, when she'd shown Mia's previous prescriptions to other doctors, they all said the medicine was too strong - while it helped Victor's condition, it also caused significant harm.
This time Ursa was also worried about Mia's prescription...
"It's not the medicine." Ava and Mia said almost in unison.
