KRIS:
Have you ever felt the need to prolong your weekend? That was how I felt walking into the school building. My awesome weekend at Lucian's extravagant house had come to an end-all because it was Monday, a fucking school day.
After the incident at the restaurant on Saturday night, we went back to his place and I stayed there till Sunday night. It felt like a much-needed break from my boring life.
I was walking like a zombie down the school hallway with zero interest in school. I so wanted to continue with my weekend.
Out of nowhere, a hand draped around my shoulders. I looked beside me to see Jake.
"What's up, Kris?"
"I'm trying to be fine," I replied sincerely with a blank face.
"You look pretty good to me." His eyes raked all over me. I rolled my eyes.
The dude probably couldn't see properly. I looked like shit with a capital S.
"Yeah, sure." Was my nonchalant response.
"So... you and Lucian are a thing now?" He asked, eyes on me.
"We're not a thing."
"For real?" He asked doubtfully.
"Yeah."
"Okay then, you won't mind going on a movie date with me on Saturday right?"
"Not at all," I replied.
"Great. See you around." He pecked my cheek and walked away.
From the corner of my eyes I could see people, I mean girls glaring at me. Not that I cared, they all looked pathetic.

"Happy birthday baby. You're finally, well almost an adult." Chris hugged me.
It was my eighteenth birthday. It didn't come with any special feeling as I'd thought it would. On the other hand, it felt good to know that I was kind of an adult now. At least Chris wouldn't refer to me as a kid anymore just because he was a year older than I am.
"Our little girl is becoming a woman." He grinned, pulling away from the embrace.
"I've always been a woman, bitch." I rolled my eyes and he smacked my head.
My mom glared at me and shook her head. My mom was at home for my birthday. How she did it, I couldn't tell but I was glad she was with me and my friends.
We wanted a party but my damn birthday had to fall on a school day, so no party.
Unless you want to call a gathering of my mom and friends, by that I mean Lexi, Paige, Chris and Jake, a party.
If you're wondering why Lucian wasn’t there, then I don't have an answer for you. I was certain he knew it was my birthday but-
"Baby, it's time to make a wish." My mom announced, carrying the cake into the sitting room.
Wanna know the truth? I didn't know what to wish for.
"Oh, oh, I know! I know what you should wish for!" Paige bounced on the couch like a little girl.
I glared at her and she smiled sweetly.
Bitch is a psycho. On my last birthday, she wished for, and I quote ‘more dicks in my pussy’. And let me tell you, it wasn't fun trying to explain that to my mom.
"No way. I'll make a wish for you this year." Lexi said.
I wondered what she was going to say as I lowered my head and blew out the candles.
"I wish for more hot guys to come your way so your pretty ass can finally get a boyfriend." She ran away from my reach so I wouldn't hit her.
I have very amazing friends.
"No way." Chris yelled, "If that happens she'll replace me." He added pouting and we all burst into laughter.
Just then the doorbell rang and Jake hurried to open it. Immediately he spotted who was at the door, he slammed the door shut and walked back to us but the door opened again to reveal Lucian.
"Ooh…" my mom drawled. "Who's this hottie?" She asked and I facepalm-ed myself.
My mom had no filter over her mouth.
"This is the guy that Kris is replacing me with," Chris replied, pretending to be sad.
"Ooh, she definitely should replace you." My mom winked at me.
Lucian just chuckled at this exchange.
"Mom. This is Lucian. Lucian, my mom." I introduced them.
"Good to see you, Lucian." Mom grinned like a little girl who had been offered candy.
"You too, Mrs. Morgan."
"Kyla. Just call me Kyla." Mom corrected.
"Happy birthday, sunshine," Lucian whispered in my ear before pecking my cheeks.
I think I was competing with a tomato at that point, in front of everyone.
"Than-oh." I hugged him instead and everyone ‘aww-ed’.
Moments later, I received my presents. I was feeling extremely loved. I loved Jake's present most. He gave me a bracelet with little diamonds around it. It was beautiful.
Somehow, I felt a little disappointed that Lucian didn’t get me anything.
Soon, we were all sitting around trying to watch some show on the TV but we were just really making small talks. My mom had gone to bed long ago as she needed to wake up early to work the following day.
I was sitting beside Lucian while Jake was directly opposite us with Paige beside him. I felt arms around me and the next thing I knew, I was sitting on Lucian's lap.
I raised my brows but he only smirked.
"Are you expecting something?" He asked, still smirking.
"No?" I asked instead of replying.
"You didn't tell me it was your birthday."
"I knew you'd find out. Angels know everything." I grinned and he smiled.
He lifted me to straddle him and struggled for a while trying to get something out of his pants pocket. When he finally brought it out, it was a little black box.
He gave it to me and gave me a small nod which I took as permission to open it.
On opening it, I was amazed at what I saw. It was so beautiful. A silver necklace with a diamond heart-shaped pendant.
I threw my arms around his neck, hugging him tightly.
"It's beautiful," I said after releasing him.
"Just like you." He replied lowly.
He took it from my hand and clasped it around my neck and I pecked his cheek afterward.
"I don't know how to thank you." I grinned.
"Kiss me." He responded with all seriousness, staring into my eyes intensely.
Errr, what?
My eyes widened and he licked his lips, "You know you want to." He smirked.
Do I?
I licked my lips while still staring at his pale pink lips. Before I could utter a word, he slammed his lips against mine and tightened his arms around my waist.
OMG!! I'm kissing Lucian. Wait….no. He's kissing me. My subconscious screamed in excitement.
It took time for my brain to process what was happening but I finally started kissing him back. If anyone saw us, they didn't comment. It was like we were alone.
His lips molded against mine perfectly as he worked them against mine. He licked the seam of my lips and I opened up to grant him access. He darted his tongue into my mouth to explore it. My tongue met with his and it was like a little fire ignited deep down in my stomach. I wrapped my arms around his neck tightly, kissing him back passionately, the people in the room forgotten.
When we finally came up for air, I felt eyes on us. I turned to see Jake glaring daggers but not at me. They were aimed at Lucian.
Returning my gaze to Lucian, his lips curled in a smirk, his eyes staring into Jakes.
I gulped.
