Chapter 238 A bad dream
It took me three days to get back to my senses and be able to talk normally. Olivia and Aiden spent all their time with me, which felt great. I guess their company also helped me to heal quicker.
Aiden mostly talked to me about the pack. He told me how much the pack members did to make the pack a happy place again, and he also said till they were away, the Chef is making sure everything was going well. Olivia mentioned that earlier, but she also said she made the Chef promise he would call her if they need her. However, she told me with a proud smile that Aiden was in contact with him. They knew I was alive, and they said that they couldn't wait to welcome me back home.
Aiden's other favourite thing was to tell me how much he had worked on the fields, and how easy was that for him.
I wouldn't wonder, as his physical abilities were apparently perfect. He was nearly four years old, but his body looked like a sixteen-year-old werewolf.
He told me about how much he worked with his mother, and how much he learned about leading a pack. Aiden said, after I was back, I could ask him anytime to help me out.
He acted like a real young Alpha, and I couldn't be more proud of him.
However, in the evening he got tired quickly, but the community kept a room next to mine for him, so he could sleep each night in comfort.
After he left, I made myself comfortable, and Olivia moved closer to me. She laid her head on my pillow, and we both fell asleep.
My sleep was calm at first. However, I started dreaming. I was in the dark, cold room again, laying on the ground in my blood, chained to the wall.
Lucy appeared with the usual shot, and after she injected the stuff in me, she took her phone out of her pocket. She showed the video to me again. On the video, Walter walked with Aiden, and he explained everything about the surrounding animals.
She said I have lost my family for a lifetime, as Olivia got back together with Walter, and from now on they would take care of them.
What she said angered me, but the wolfsbane didn't let me move. She laughed out loud seeing me struggle, and she leaned closer.
"We have a friend in the community who happily gives us information about them. Aiden is more than interesting as a mixture of a werewolf and a vampire. He will be with us soon." She whispered into my ear, and I wanted to get up again, but I couldn't.
My eyes opened suddenly. Realising it was only a dream made me calm down a little. I wasn't on the machine anymore, so my rapid heartbeats didn't make a noise. However, Olivia moved like she woke up, and when I turned my head to face her, she stared at me with a frown. She turned the small light on, on the bedside table, and she turned back to me.
"Asher, are you alright? What happened?"
"I had a dream. I don't know if that was all real, but I know part of it happened."
Olivia frowned more.
"What was that about?"
"Lucy showed me a video about you, Aiden and Walter. You were in a zoo, and the video made me believe you moved on. It also showed that Aiden liked Walter as his father. Lucy told me that. I think that was the point when I stopped fighting."
Olivia sighed.
"Asher, that wasn't real. I mean, we were in a zoo, but that video was made to make you think that. That was only for torturing you more."
I sighed this time.
"I know that now, but back then I believed you moved on, really."
Olivia moved closer, and she hugged me.
"I would never do that, Asher." She whispered into my ear, and that caressed my soul, but there was also something else that didn't let me stay in peace.
"But that wasn't all she said."
She lifted her head once again. "What else did she say?"
"She said they have a friend in the Green Community who is working with them. She said Aiden is so rare. Many scientists want to know more about him, and they will take him as well."
She frowned again.
"I mean, I am not a hundred percent sure that it really happened, but could someone be here who gives them information?"
As I was thinking about it, my heart pounded faster again. Moving was still painful for me, but I was ready to get up and get Aiden to this room. However, Olivia held me back from doing that.
"Asher, you can't move yet!" She told me, and she held me back by putting her palm on my chest. "Listen, probably that was real, but you have nothing to worry about."
"How can you say that? Maybe Aiden is in danger and - "
"No, he isn't." She stopped me from talking. "Irene told me what happened to her. She was threatened to make that video, but that was all. They took her pups, and they told her if she refused to help them, they would hurt the two kids."
What she said made my eyes widen, and it was hard to believe they dared do this with a member of a community. The fact that Irene didn't ask for help was weird as well.
"But she is still here, and how do you know it is really over?"
She lowered her head for a moment.
"I asked a few people, including Walter, to watch her. Believe me when I say, there is nothing to worry about."
"Lucy and Harry have a family. Please, don't forget that."
"Lucy and Harry have a family who live in the Red River Pack. I don't think Xavier is treating them so well, since their relatives tried to kill his father, but l am sure they are well supervised."
When she said that there was one thing in my mind, maybe the most important, that I haven't even asked yet.
"Where are Lucy and Harry?"
