Heather's POV chapter 35

I walked into the dark woods, my steps trembling. My skin was pale, goose bumps crawling across my skin. A lump formed in my throat and i swallowed hard.

The environment was silent, the silence occasionally disturbed by the violent pounding in my heart and the croaking of frogs near the lake.

My grip tightened the hem of my garment as I walked deeper into the woods, my eyes darting around for any sign of life.

“You think we wouldn't find out?” a hoarse voice said behind me. My breathing hitched and i whirled around, my gaze meeting that of Darren.

“Darren,” I called, my voice shaking, barely above a whisper. I forced a smile across my lips. The wave of relief hitting me as I closed the distance between us. “You scared the hell out of me,” I mumbled, my hand wrapping around his neck.

He simply pushed me away,

“You think we wouldn't find out who you are?”he asked again, a hint of seriousness in his voice.

My breathing hitched, my stomach churning. Did they find out that I was the exiled Luna?

“I'm confused,” I said, acting clueless. Sweat trickled down my temples and I struggled to maintain my composure. I didn't want him to see any cracks.

He walked closer to me, her eyes turning red.

“I knew you were her. I just didn't have my facts ready, ” he growled, I walked backwards, my eyes locked onto his. My lips quivered and i prayed for the earth to swallow me whole. My whole body tremed as I stumbled over a tree, my lips quivered under the intensity of his gaze.

He leaned so close to me, a wild grin running across his face, sending shivers of fear down my spine. The truth was, I wasn't sure if I was going to make it through this night. Acting clueless seemed to make him mind.

“Who?” I asked, my voice cracking.

“The witch. The exiled Luna!” he said.

“You…You must be Mistaking Darren,” I stammered, panic clawing at the edge of my heart. I felt my chest tighten, as his fingers ran through my hair.

“You…You got the wrong person,” My words faltered. He remained silent, the wind howled through the tree trunks amplifying my fear.

“You know what's more funnier than riding the bones of your loved ones?” he asked.

I shook my head immediately the words left his lips.

“N…No,” I replied, my palm sweaty.

“Denying who you actually are before you become a meal,”he whispered into my ears, biting my ear lobe.

A meal? What does he mean by a meal?

“Let it be known to you, Heather. I'd never have a witch as a mate!” he declared.

Before I could say a word, I heard distant growling. Tears rolled down my cheeks as I saw the red glowing eyes in the woods.

“Darren, please,” I begged, my voice shaking.

“You escaped before, let's see if you can escape now,”he spat bitterly.

I begged for my life, but turned out no amount of begging would melt his resolve, he was bent on killing me.

Then, the words I dreaded most came rushing out of his lips,

“Run!”

I turned to my heels, and I heard him laugh. The wolves snapped their jaws, running after me. I knew it, coming to this pack was set up. He must have gotten some information about me from Carol and Phil. Those pathetic bastards sold me out!

I ran as fast as my tiny legs could carry me, my breath coming in uneven gasps. They were closer than expected. Heck, how did I think I'd outrun them?

The branches wiped my face and I kept running, unfazed by the thorns which bruised my heels.

Suddenly, my legs twisted and I fell on the mud floor, groaning in pain. My leg was stuck. I tried to pull it out, but it was usual.

The wolves halted before me, and I muttered my last prayer, pleading to the Luna goddess that I make it to the after life.

Just as they were about to bury their canines in my skin, a hand reached out from the dark and I grabbed it,it pulled me into the dark, patting my back.  I didn't care to know who it was, all I knew was that I was safe and that mattered…only for a fleeting moment.

Suddenly, I felt the person's cold breath on my skin.

Cold? Wasn't it supposed to be warm breath?

A chill ran down my spine and my curiosity got the better part of me.

“W…Who are you?” I asked, my body temperature dropping. I was freezing.

A cruel laughter escaped her tongue, his fingers running through my hair in a way that made me uncomfortable. She had claws and each time she touched my skin, it cut through.

“You are safe, that's all that matters,” she whispered into my ears. “Daughter.”

I jolted awake, sweat trickling down my forehead. It was a fucking dream, but it felt so real. My clothe was dampened, I had fallen asleep on the bed. My breathing came short and uneven, my eyes scanning through the spacious room.

“Are you alright?” a voice asked and my muscles Contracted. My body trembling, I whirled around in the direction of the voice, my breath hitching as I saw Darren. He sat on the couch, his brow raised in curiosity.

I gave him a quick nod, stretching my hand across the table as I grabbed the water on the night stand, taking it in a single gulp, the cold liquid running down my throat.

He didn't press further with his questions. He stood on his feet, walking out of the room and slamming the door.

“They won't find out,” I muttered, trying hard to convince myself but it was useless. The words felt hollow.

Going to the pack was one thing i didn't want, I had tried to talk him out of it but he was quick to remind me of my place. Now, I'm going to spend the room with him for as long as he wanted.

The scent of the woods was a constant reminder of the night when they all wanted to bury their canines in my skull. They all had wanted me dead. Now, the night mare?

I couldn't help but ask who the lady in the dark was and how was she my…mother? Everything seemed strange.

I walked into the bathroom turning on the shower, washing away the sweat which clung on my skin. The ringing of the bell sliced through the air; a reminder that breakfast was ready.

Another day to face the assholes who wanted me dead.

I walked down the stairs with the grace of a goddess, my gaze falling on Vanessa. I could see the bitterness in her eyes but I pushed it aside. For all I care, she was the least important in the pack.

The pack's diet was mainly flesh. According to Darren, depending on plants alone would make them weak. Well, they did eat plants when they feel like.

I sat across the table, eating the roasted deer that was served on the table, my stomach growled in approval.

“We’d be going to investigate the cause of the death. Heather, stay within the palace. Don't leave,” Darren spoke, his voice deep.

“What of me?” Vanessa asked, leaning forward.

Darren glared at her before standing up and walking away, Kyle trailing behind. I felt a little bit satisfied watching Darren starve Vanessa the attention she begged for.

Vanessa's eyes snapped in my direction, her eyes turning green. Her polished nails were ruined, replaced by tiny sharp claws. She was an Omega, she wasn't much of a threat to other wolves except people who are wolfless like me.

“Vanessa?” I called, rising on my feet, my eyes wide in terror.

“Darren was all mine before you stepped in,” she hissed, her canines digging out, sharp and pointy.

She stumbled against the wall, she reached for my neck, pressing me against the wall. My chest heaved as I choked on her grip.

“Now, I'm gonna ruin your pretty face,” she whispered, raising her claws in the air, a sly smile tugging by the side of her lips.

I shut my eyes, my body trembling in fear.

“Get away from her!” a voice boomed at the end. It was undeniably Darren's voice.

She loosened her grip on my neck and I fell to the floor, a dry cough escaping my throat as I tried to catch my breath.

Darren stepped closer, his hand clenching and unclenching by his side. Filled with terror, she walked backwards, shaking her head in fear. She tried to speak a word but her throat tightened.

Darren grab her on her throat, pressing her on the wall. I watched her feet curl as she choked on his grip.

“Mer…Mercy,” she pleaded, tears rolling down her eyes.

He dropped her on the floor and she gasped for breath. Darren rolled his eyes in disgust.

“If you ever harm Heather, I'd make you regret it…is that clear?” he asked.

She nodded, her body still trembling.

“Good,”he spat, walking out of the room.

I stood on my feet, a little bit satisfied.

The satisfaction I craved only lived  in my head for a few seconds before the night mare I had came rushing in.

Darren's point of view.

I walked into my room, picking the egg vibrator, my feet guiding me to the sitting room.

With a snap of my finger, i commanded Vanessa to step forward and she did, without hesistation.

“Insert this,” I mumbled.

She stripped her dress, her skin still as flawless as the first day I bought her from the rival pack. I had gone into war with the crescent moon pack and won. Just to appease me, they sold their finest she wolves to me.

“Fuck,” she moaned as she inserted the egg into her red pussy and my wolf growled in approval. She was about to get punished.

I pressed the remote and I watched her double over. This act grated on my nerves.

“Bound her,”I ordered the guards.

She was taken to the middle of mansion, her feet and hand chained seperatly to different pillars.

I increased the frequency to the highest and i watched her moaned, her pupils dilating.

“Heather, keep an eye over her. You are expected to turn off the vibrator once she passes out while cumming, is that clear?” I ordered.
