Strange attack

Chapter 79: Strange Attack

Louis's pov

I made my way back to my study room, trying to clear my head. I sat down at my desk and tried to focus on my work, but my mind kept wandering back to my mate. I couldn't stop thinking about her and what I could do to make things right. I felt like I was at a loss, and I wasn't sure what to do. But I knew I had to do something, or else the marking ceremony would be a disaster.

I was sitting at my desk, trying to focus on my work. But my mind kept wandering, and I was having trouble concentrating. Just then, I heard a soft knock on the door. I looked up, surprised to see one of my trusted advisors standing there. "I'm sorry to interrupt you, Alpha, "he said. "But there's something urgent that needs your attention."

I gestured for my advisor to come in, and he closed the door behind him. He looked worried, and I could tell that whatever he had to say was important. I braced myself for bad news. "There's been an attack on one of our villages," he said. "Several of our people have been injured, and we need to send help immediately"

I felt a surge of adrenaline rush through me as I realized the gravity of the situation. I knew I had to act quickly to help our people. I called for my second-in-command and gave orders for a team of warriors to be assembled and sent to the village. I could feel my wolf rising within me, ready to defend our pack. But I had to stay calm and focused on the task at hand.

As the warriors prepared to leave, I felt a sense of unease. Something about this attack didn't feel right. I had a feeling that there was more to this than met the eye. I couldn't shake the feeling that something sinister was at work, and that this attack was only the beginning. But I had to focus on the present and do everything I could to help our people.

As the warriors left, I called for my advisors to gather in the council chamber. We needed to discuss our strategy for dealing with this threat. But as we began our meeting, I heard a commotion outside the chamber. I opened the door and saw a group of people gathered around something on the ground. I pushed my way through the crowd, and my heart sank as I saw what lay before me. It was one of our pack members, a young girl, lying motionless on the ground

As I knelt down beside the girl, I saw that she was still breathing, but she was unconscious. There was blood on her clothes, and her eyes were closed. I touched her hand, and it was cold. I tried to shake her awake, but she didn't respond. My advisors gathered around, their faces full of concern. I knew we had to get her to the healer's hut, but I also knew we had to find out what had happened. Someone had to know something.

I turned to my advisors and said, "Someone must have seen something. We need to find out what happened to this girl." One of my advisors spoke up. "There was a woman in the village square earlier today. She was talking about a strange man who had come to town, asking about our pack. She said he seemed suspicious, and she saw him heading towards the forest where the girl was found." I felt a chill run down my spine as I realized what this could mean. "We need to find this man"

Absolutely! "I sent two of my fastest warriors to find the woman in the village square, while the rest of us set out to search for the strange man. The sun was setting as we entered the forest, and the shadows were lengthening. The trees loomed over us, and the air was thick with tension. Every sound seemed magnified, and we all jumped at the slightest rustle of leaves. Then, we heard a scream. It came from the direction we were headed, and we all raced towards the sound.

We burst through the trees and came upon a horrifying scene. A man was standing over the body of a young boy, his hands covered in blood. The boy's eyes were wide open, and he was clearly dead. The man was staring at us, a wild look in his eyes. I could see he was holding something in his hand, but I couldn't make out what it was. "You will not take our pack from us!" he shouted, his voice filled with rage.

The man's eyes were fixed on me, and I could see the madness in them. I knew I had to act fast. "Stop!" I shouted. "Put down whatever you're holding!" But the man didn't move. He just stood there, staring at me. I could see he was trembling, but his grip on the object in his hand was firm. "If you do not put it down," I said, "I will be forced to act." The man just laughed, a harsh, barking sound. "You will not stop me," he said.

The man sprinted away from us, and we were hard-pressed to keep up. But we couldn't let him get away. He was dangerous, and we had to find out what he had been doing. I knew he couldn't have gone far, so we split up and fanned out through the forest. I kept running, my heart pounding in my chest. And then, I saw him. He was standing at the edge of a cliff, the object in his hand still clutched tightly.

I stopped and took a few steps towards him, my hands held out in front of me. "Don't do it," I said. "You don't have to do this." But the man just laughed again. ,"I'm not afraid of you," he said. "You're too late to stop me now." I took another step towards him, and that's when I saw what he was holding. It was a knife, and he was about to plunge it into his own chest. I lunged forward, but I knew I wouldn't reach him in time.
