CHAPTER 73

Raven and Alex made their way out of the orphanage hand in hand as they headed towards the open file that was before them. They both had a lot that was going through their mind and they both knew they had thingd yo think about.

She let out a sigh as she started towards Macy. She didn't want to make it seem weird at all but she couldn't help but stare at the girl. She was a peculiar sight and she wasn't entirely sure what to make of her at The moment. She was something of a mystery and it didn't make much of sense to hee.

“What is it?” She heard Alex ask her and she couldn't help but shrugs her shoulders as she let Out a sigh from her lips. “I don't know. It's about the little girl lacey. I know that this may sound wierd ot strange but I feel as though I know her. There's definitely something that Is very different about her.” She said to him in a mutter under breath and she watched as he sucked in deep breath.

“Well i know that she isn't like the other kids and that was why i was surprised that she was even open to the idea of having a conversation with you. She is usually not like this with the others. She had a rough start to life and when I found her she was barely clinging onto this reality. At least I am glad to know now that she at least had someone like you that can help her through some of that.” He explained to her honestly.

Her eyes widened at his words as her mouth formed into an o. She was surprised by the way that he had been the one who had found her but she knew that she shouldn't have been. In a sense he was the one who was in charge of them all and so it only made sense that he would be the one who was welcoung in new members.

She knew that in a sense of the word what was filling her was nothing more than paranoia but she couldn't help but feel slightly shaken by it all. She let out a sigh from her lips as they continued to make their way through the rest of the forest area. She had a lot on her mind and she was aware of that but hse also knew that she had to put her own thoughts and her hesitations aside so that she could focus on other things and those other things obviously had to be the kids.

They made their way towards the back of the pack that was located near the mountains and she couldbt help the sad smile that came over her features. She remembered the time that she spent playing around here when she was growing up and she remembered that it felt as though it was almost a lifetime ago. She often found herself wishing that she could turn back time so that they could live those memories a bit more but she knew that it wasn't like that.

She knew that fiction was far from the reality that she was living now and the fact that she would simply have to accept this new life of hers now. She has no choice but to simply move on with gee existence. It seemed as though it was the most playable out one for her noe.

They watched as the kids played catch as they earn around in a small circle. There were only a few of them but they had bpure hearts and that sight alone made her heart flutter and she felt as though she was in fact doing the right thing.

She pulled out the blanket that they had come along with as she felt the eyes that were trained on her. She opened it up wide as she spread it out onto the floor and she watched as everyone turned to look towards her with curiosity on their face and she could tell that they were all slightly cautious of her.

“Now don't go sitting around looking like that. This is supposed to be a picnic. We are supposed to be here to enjoy ourselves and have fun not to sit around and mope. So come on you guys can sit and i will get us the food.” She said to them and she watched as they stared at her cautiously for a moment before they moved their heads at her and sat down.

She turned towards Alex who only nodded his head at her in response before he pulled away from her and allowed her to go. She had several thoughts running through her head and she felt as though of she didn't move away she would break down.

She thought that having a conversation and trying to sit down with the kids would have been easy. She thought that she would be able to get there in and out quickly but she had been strong. This was much more complicated than she had thought. She wasn't used to being the center of attention and she was definitely not of the thought of having everyone's attention trailed on her.

She was usually the laughing stalk and the punching bag. That was something that she couldn't handle and that was something that she was used to. But this was definitely something that she couldn't picture lt find herself ever being fond of.

She had always been told that she was a monster and that Her life was a waste. She had been told that she wouldn't end up amounting to anything good and she had milied every last word. She had accepted it as her fate but it seemed as though now in some twisted way those words were being turned back against Her. She wasn't ready to face that really. She has told herself that she would be able to prepare herself for whatever was to come and for whatever life had to offer her but she had lied.

That had in fact been far from the truth. She knew now she could dwell on those thoughts of hers. What she had to do now was focus on the narrative. She had to get to the kitchens and get their picnic. Her mental health or her lack of wasnt something to worry others about.
