CHAPTER 59
He looked towards her with his eyes wide open and she watched as he gulped deeply but didn't say anything to her at first. He seemed to be surprised by her request and the truth was that she was surprised by her own words too. She didn't know why she had asked that of him but the darkness was something that seemed to plague her thoughts often and now that she had learnt that their two lives were intertwined she knew that she had to learn about him and that their fates were inevitably intertwined.
She let out a sigh gorm her lips. “Why do you keep mentioning it and what was the other man saying about it being out there and he Alpah Having to put a stop to it”, she asked.
It was just then that she watched as his cheeks darkened and he blushed. He looked over towards her and she did the same as she took a step back when she realized that he was shirtless. It felt as though cold water had been poured over her as she felt a deep blush form on her cheeks.
She began to fumble with her words as she struggled to find the right words to say. She knew that the sight of him shirtless shouldn't have affected her this much and yet it did.
“Give me a minute so I won't get changed, put some clothes in and then we can talk ''. He said to her and she only found herself nodding her head at him as she watched as he slammed the door shut once more. She cured herself internally for what she had done.
She didn't know what had come over her but he ghaf left her feeling utterly like a fool as she was left tongue tied and speechless. She let out a sigh when moments later she watched as he pulled the door open again this time much wider and he allowed for her to walk into the room.
She let out a hum as she looked around the room and she had to admit that the darkness guitar and the weapons that hung on the walls was something that she had definitely expected to find. She didn't miss the small teddy bear that rested on his bed though. That was something that was unexpected.
“Anyway you can sit down anywhere.” He said to her unsurely as she gave him a small smile and she nodded her head at him in response. She didn't know why she wasn't talking to him or why things suddenly seemed weird but she felt as though she wanted to. No, she needed to clear the air.
“Okay so what is going on how about you tell me?” He asked her so he looked towards her with bushy eyebrows furrowed in confusion.
She sat down on his bed and she smoothed out his sheets and she didn't know why she found it almost hard for her to tell him what was going on.
She only shrugged her shoulders at him at first as she found herself struggling to do the right words to say.
“Well I remember the man saying something about having to fight the darkness and you never told me anything about that. So I need you to explain. You have to explain it desperately”. She said to him and she watched as he shook his head at her as he seemed to be unphased initially.
“It is nothing that you need to write about nos. You can yhinkaboht ut when you are fully ready to take on the position of Aloha. It will ensure that you have everything secured. For now the darkness is here and I believe that it will not be going anywhere soon and so I don't want you to worry about that". He said to be and she watched as he reached out for her with his hand on her shoulder.
But she shrugged him off. She didn't need to have him comfort her. She didn't need him to look at her as though he was speaking to her child. He needed her to try and have an adult conversation with her and speak with her in a mature way.
“It is my problem because I found letters from my parents in the old pack house and according to them I have some gift inside me and I am some sort of the chosen one. I am freaking out and I find myself struggling to figure out what I have to do with this information. I am tired of having to play these games. I just want to have people that will tell me the truth for once, not those that will give me a set of lies”. She said to him in frustration . She watched as his eyes widened in shock and it was clear to her that he hadn't expected such texts for her.
She let out a sigh. “I just want to hear the truth. I have been fed a lot of lies in my life and half truths and I just want to hear what is the reality of it now. I don't want to have to listen to any more lies. They are draining and I want to put a stop to them once and for all.” She said to him.
She watched as he lowered his head at her before nodding it in understanding. “I know and i am sorry for not realizing it sooner. I understand how you are feeling at this moment. It does in fact make a lot of sense to me. And I don't know much about the darkness. It was mostly what I had been told from stories and tales that I had heard. He was here when I came. But I have had minimal encounters with him. But the longer you stay here the more its pull gets stronger to you. I can tell. I know I was pushed away together ago but he still lingers in these woods.” He said to her.
“And so what is the Alpha’s job.” She asked.
“To put a stop to it once and for all.” She heard him say as she felt her heart sank.
