Forging Alliances

Leia's – POV

I checked the backpack to ensure I had filled it with everything, confirming that all essential things were packed, and then buckled it closed. Walking downstairs, I met the worried gazes of my mates, though their concern was hidden behind calm faces. Susan looked at me with hope, silently begging me to bring her love back to her.

"I am ready to leave," I announced.

"Leia, please be safe and come back home to us," Xavier implored, as he hugged me before Kai could. I hugged him back tightly.

"I will be fine," I assured him. Xavier pulled away from the hug and kissed my lips tenderly, causing me to melt against him like I always did. Breaking from the kiss, I turned to see Kai waiting patiently, a new display of patience from him. He hated to be second in showing his love to me.

"Take care," Kai whispered, kissing me with an intensity that made my head spin, a whirlwind of love, care, and worry mixed into it. Breaking from our feverish kiss and catching my breath, I had to pull myself together. It was hard to focus on the mission when my mates showered me with such loving affection.

"Please bring back Jennifer," Susan said, her voice filled with desperation.

"I will, Susan; trust me," I replied. "I'll keep you guys posted on what's going on over the phone." I walked to the teleportation pad, and Susan gave me a spell chant to take me to the Witch Land entrance gate.

Turning, I gave a goodbye wave, noticing the sadness creeping into my mates' eyes as the vortex sucked me in. I floated, following the magical pathway, my body gradually getting used to this travel.

After an hour, a vortex opened, and I landed perfectly on the unsteady ground. Looking at the magnificent gate, memories flooded back of when I came with Veronica and how the guards had bowed to her. I felt determined as I approached the entrance, knowing I had a mission to complete and people depended on me. But I was stopped by the guard, a new obstacle to face, and I realized that this journey would take a lot of work. Every step would be a test, and I had to be strong, clever, and brave to succeed.

"Are you new?" the security guard asked, curiously eyeing me. I nodded.

"Stand here," the female guard instructed. Following her direction, I stood in the magical wave, feeling the magic swirl around me. I knew what this was—Susan had explained that the guard would ask me to step into the magic glass to check if I was a banished witch. This magic would dispel such manipulative enchantments if I tried to disguise myself to enter their lands.

"Step out," the guard commanded. I did as instructed, and she allowed me to pass. "You can walk inside."

I sighed internally with relief, happy with this small success in entering Witch Land. However, I knew the real challenges lay ahead. I had no plan in place to break Jennifer out of prison. First, I needed to rent a place without arousing suspicion, aware that the magical glass I had stood in would trace my movements for 12 hours. If I had any ulterior motives, the magic would track me. Susan had instructed me on how to use dark magic to dispel the tracker without alerting the guards.

Staying in a luxury motel, I put my backpack down and showered, dressed casually. I donned my shoes and took a stroll through the city. Exiting the hotel suite, I grabbed a tour guide map from the receptionist's desk. It projected a map that only I could see, lighting up in my hand. Studying the map, I walked through the bustling streets, taking in the unique beauty and magic of Witch Land.

But as enchanting as the city was, I couldn't afford to be distracted. I had to locate the Castle and the Prison tower. The city held many secrets, and I had to unravel them quickly. With every step, I felt the weight of responsibility and the urgency of my mission. Time was of the essence, and I couldn't let Jennifer down. It was a race against the clock, and I was determined to win.

The castle and the prison tower were within a short distance, but I encountered a problem: two prison towers. One was in the castle basement, and the other was outside. I would need to find out more about Jennifer's location, and I felt a twinge of frustration at the situation's complexity.

I sighed, uncertain where to begin, and sat in a local coffee shop. Pulling out my phone, I texted the group chat that included Susan, Xavier, and Kai. "I have reached safely and am inside Witch Land," I reported, before tucking my phone back into my jeans pocket.

I needed to return to the hotel suite and wait for the tracking magic to wear off. The time seemed to crawl slowly as I paced back and forth, grappling with my next move. Should I visit the bar in this hotel's VIP Lounge? I could find someone resourceful there.

As night fell, I decided. I dressed in a dazzling red gown, styled my hair, and applied makeup. Then I ventured down to the hotel's lounge, eyes scanning the room for potential allies. The place was teeming with magic, and I extended my senses to follow any intuitive leads that might help me find Jennifer.

At first, nothing caught my eye. The room was filled with laughter and the clinking of glasses, but no one stood out. Then, three women walked in, carrying an air of power that immediately drew my attention. Something in my gut told me they could help me, and I trusted that intuition. I remembered Jennifer's words about always following witch instincts.

I approached the women who had just settled on the VIP couch, smoking cigars and sipping alcohol. The woman in the center, a striking blonde, stared at me as I made my way over. I could sense her power, a dark magic that contrasted sharply with the light magic emanating from her two companions.

"Who are you?" the blonde asked, her eyes narrowing. "What do you want from us?"

"I am Leia Agnor, and I am here to strike a deal," I said, steadying my voice.

The blonde raised an eyebrow. Though the lady appeared young, her eyes told me she was a middle-aged woman with more life experiences than me.

"Do you know what our group is called, and you dare to walk in to speak with us?" she challenged. I hesitated, unsure of what to say.

"You are new around here, aren't you?" She added, a note of contempt in her voice.

"I am," I admitted.

"Take a seat," the woman on the right said with a smile, her tone contrasting with the blonde's scowl. She had fair skin and didn't look as unhappy with my presence as the blonde. The blonde shot her a frown.

"Our group is called the Rebellions," the woman on the left explained, her beautiful red hair, a shade darker than mine, gleaming in the dim light.

"Rebellions?" I echoed, curiosity piqued.

"Why are you entertaining this outsider, Venia and Dina?" the blonde snapped, naming her companions.

"Come on, Jess, you are simply being rude to her. Don't you sense the intuition that she could be good company?" Dina reasoned. Jess sighed, exasperation clear in her expression.

"What is your deal? I need to hear her out before you two tell her more about our group," Jess warned, her tone commanding.

I leaned forward, seizing the opportunity. "I'm seeking information about the castle and the prison towers," I said, keeping my voice low. "I believe we can help each other." Jess's eyes flickered with interest, and the room's energy shifted.
