Raven’s POV
After Raphael's body turn to dust, his army dissolves too. It seems they were all connected and just like that the army is no more. The soldiers and i are left looking ar each other.
My mind runs to Caleb, but when I try to teleport, I'm unable, I try so hard but nothing happens.
"No, no this can't be happening right now." Without wasting time i shift into my wolf and run straight to Nadine-west Pack i have to see my Caleb he's badly injured.
It's takes everything in me but finally I see the pack, I rush past the gate ignoring everyone. I just want to see him, i want to see him. I ignore all the pain my paws are literally bleeding. But Caleb is the only important person in my life right now. I push past our room and find something quick to wear before rushing to the infirmary.
"Caleb!" I call.
I shove the infirmary's door open and there he is.
Caleb lies on the far bed, shirt torn open where burns still glow faintly along his ribs. Morris sits beside him, half-bandaged and pale but awake. He looks up first, eyes widening.
“Raven, thank the Goddess" He breathes in relief. Caleb stirs at the sound of my name, and my knees nearly buckle when his eyes find mine.
“Raven…” he whispers, trying to get up. "You are okay baby."
“Yes baby, please don’t move,” I climb onto the edge of the bed, grabbing his hand with both of mine, He squeezes weakly. I've never seen him this weak before. His eyes are full of pain.
“What happened?” Alpha Morris asks quietly.
“He’s gone,” I whisper hinting that I don't want to say no more. My eyes never leaving Caleb. Caleb’s jaw tightens, a flicker of guilt crossing his features. “Raven… I’m sorry.” He says briefly looking away.
“For what baby ?” I breathe stroking his palms.
“For making you face him alone.”
I shake my head. “You didn’t make me, it was my duty babe. I had to."
His eyes soften. “I'm just glad you are here with me, you are safe.” I let out something between a sob and a laugh before pressing my forehead to his.
"I love you Raven." He whispers, so low but everyone hears it. And small chuckles are heard across the room. Morris clears his throat excusing himself and the others and the room is left for us.
"Come here baby." He opens his arms and I slide in on the bed. I breathe a sign of relief, this is where I'm supposed to be. He kisses my forehead and we stay like that, I drift to sleep without knowing.
Caleb’s POV
Her breathing becomes softer by the minute, im mesmerised by how strong she is, she is the most courageous and beautiful woman I've ever met. I don't know what to do to make her understand how much she means to me.
Though something feels off about her, her energy feels different.
I pull her closer to me, and hold her tighter, she lost something in her in this fight. I just hope it isn't anything serious.
Something crosses my mind, I need to take her away from this world. I can't continue seeing her like this. I can’t watch her getting hurt time and again, I have to give her a peaceful life because that's what she deserves.
