Chapter 115

When he pulled up near the apartment, he said he wasn't going to come up today but wanted to ask me something.

"Um, Bella would you like to go out to lunch with me? on Saturday of course" he said after announcing that he wanted to say something.

"Lunch?" I ask as if I didn't get him right. I was confused, was it a casual thing or was he asking me out on a date.

"Yes lunch. Just lunch, I am not asking for anything more." He says with some kind of serious note to his tone.

I think he senses my hesitance so he continues "I don't really know what you went through back where you were but I am not trying to get you into anything you are uncomfortable with. I just want your company away from everything else. If it will make you feel better we could go to a very public place."

Wasn't that sweet. Trying to make me as comfortable as I can be around him. "I don't know, where are my babies going be then"

"I have arranged that they have a play date with my nieces and nephews. They need friends of their own age instead of us adults." He says this with so much amusement that it sounded as if he was laughing in words.

It was true, my pups needed to be around kids their own size before I bred little adults from being around adults too much. While on the lunch date, I'm sure it wouldn't hurt having to not worry for some time while I go out with him. But one thing is going to be for sure, him and I were not meeting because we had interests in each other. I was going out with him as a friend.

When I told him this he was completely fine with it and didn't expect much more. He told me that the rest of the week he was going to be busy, possibly out of town for business so he wasn't going to show up for the next few days to pick me up.

Today was Wednesday meaning I had Thursday and Friday to take the train home. That was fine, I was already doing it before he came long anyway.

The days passed by slowly. It was no fun having to not see Jeremiah. I had gotten used to it and so did the pups but they didn't show any sign that they missed him. If I thought about it, they didn't give me any sign that they missed their daddy either. But how was I expecting them to tell me that they miss their father? I was beginning to believe that I am delusional as Moira had said.

Friday, today, one of the busiest day you could have as a waiter. Countless numbers of people filtering in and filtering out. You had to be on your tippy toes for this, clearing tables and serving tables in time so that you got no complaints. No complaints equated to more tips and if you wanted to survive in this line of employment, you had to strive for tips.

It was today that Eddy gave us our pay slips. At the end of the week. Moira and I were in the back waiting for him to hand us our goodies then we can go on with the day. Moira had offered me to join her and her friends today for some drinks but I kindly rejected the offer. I still had babies to take care of.

"Pity such a pretty thing like you can't go out." She said as she swung out the door. I didn't feel sad, I just didn't like the setting that it provided. I had heard too many traumatizing stories about dance clubs and young girls. Heard it from the girls themselves when they came by for a meal or two.

The boys were even worse, talking about what he did to an unknowing girl. Dance clubs will never be my thing.

Looking forward to tomorrow I head home to my own place and children.

When Jeremiah was not around on Friday evenings I mostly spent it at Dolly's. she would make dinner for two and pudding for the pups. When I told her not to bother with making food for us she simply brushed it off and claimed she liked doing it.

I liked eating her food too, it gave me an impression of grandma's place even when I have never had my grandma cook for me, if I had one that is. My mother never talked about her parents, strange.

The night goes on well with soft chattering. She tells me of her background and I tell her of mine. Earlier someday I had told her of my situation and she has been supportive. She thinks I did great leaving him when he himself could not come tell me that he wanted to leave me. it showed how little he cares for you she said.

She had a point, if it was the Aiden I knew and fell in love with, he would have done everything in his power to not be away from me even the slightest. But he stayed days and days without even chancing me a visit, not a single one. How was I supposed to interpret that? How would you interpret that?

It was getting late and my pups had already fallen asleep, holding hands as always. I wonder what went through their minds when they held each other like that. It only showed how strong their bond was, making a person like me crave such a bond with a person I thought would turn the word for me like he said. Turns out I was only lied to.

I must have been an easy person to lie to, look at all my relationships I have ever had. Filled with men who end up surprising you in the end.
