Ray POV

My annoying father had pulled the strings, and I was no longer on my way to hell.

I supposed I was to be grateful. But all the years of his cruel acts would never be made up for by this one good act.

Which I couldn’t even call good. As the act had been done with the motive of selfishness.

After the meeting, my father had dragged me to his house.

My childhood home. A place with bad memories and only a few good ones.

And the good ones were when my mother was still with us.

On getting home. I had been eager to be aware of my father's hypocritical presence.

However, he wasn’t eager to get away from mine.

He had me seated in the living room while he interrogated me.

I answered some questions, and I chose not to answer others. This I did on purpose to vex him. And partially, I was distracted by the whole view of the house. It’s been fifteen years since I moved out of this house and never returned.

And coming back under these conditions indeed didn’t feel nice.

“I’m talking to you!!” He barked.

I rolled my eyes. “And I am tired of it.”

“I’m doing this for your good ingrate!”

“Are you sure? Or you’re doing this to finally achieve that stupid dream of being the alpha?”

“I dont want it. I only wanted it for you. For our family.”

“Yeah. Whatever makes you sleep well at night.”

“Ray!!”

“Can I just get going away from here? I have had enough of dramatic episodes. My body is sore and bruised. And your shouting is only adding to making my head hurt.”

“I’m not shouting. I’m just trying to pass vital information to you.”

“Can you pass it on later?”

“I know where the flash drive is.”

This got my attention.

“What?”

“I was reached a month ago by The Lunari. And I was told about your plan to take down Adrien and become the alpha. Imagine my surprise, as you had always refused to do so when I asked you to. The Lunari fed me in on all your activities, including that you were unfaithful. And then the Lunari told me about the flash drive. And how have you been followed since you acquired it from Adrien? The Lunari took the flash drive from you on purpose. It wasn’t lost.”

Confusion and shock filled me. Firstly, who the hell was the Lunari? How long has this Lunari followed me?

“Who is the Lunari?”

“I dont know who the Lunari is. I don’t know if the Lunari is a wolf or a human. A male or a female. All I know is that they have the flash drive.”

“If you know nothing about this Lunari. Then how are you certain that this Lunari has the flash drive?”

“Cause I was sent a picture of it, including all the pictures of both werewolves and humans' dirty secrets. It was power indeed.”

“And where is this picture?”

“It was sent as a private document. That allows me to view it once.”

I scoffed. “Do you seriously expect me to believe that?”

“Well, will you believe it if I told you I knew your whereabouts? And the fact that you were chasing Diane. That is cause the Lunari kept me updated on all of this.”

“And this Lunari, what exactly do they want.” I used them, as I didn’t know the gender of the so-called Lunari.

“Simple. He wants to control the world. Well, the human world. And he has been doing so well with the flash drive. However, he also wishes to control the supernatural world. He wishes to be the most powerful person in this world.”

I took note of his use of ‘HE’, which means my father may not know the Lunari's gender. But he would never agree a woman was capable of being the Lunari.

Cause he felt women were only for fucking. That’s the way he treated my mother. Like an object. Even though she loved him so dearly.

He maltreated her, beat her and treated her like his damned slave.

I fisted my hands to calm myself down.

“And you wish to listen to this so-called Lunari? Why?”

“Well, at first, I didn’t have a choice. Cause he threatened to expose my sins to the pack and the world, which was present in the flash drive. And so I started listening to him, doing what he wished—and telling him what he wanted to know. But over this past month. We had grown closer. And he had promised me a spot as the alpha of our pack. He said he was going to bring down the Adrien soon for it. But you had to get yourself involved with Adrien. And now you ruined the whole plan.”

He must have won the worst Father of the Year award. Cause he had just told me to my face that he didn’t care about me.

That had hurt. More than I wished it hadn’t.

“So you were vying for the alpha? Even after knowing I was already vying for it?”

“You have no right to get offended. You never listened to me when I asked you to vie for it. And then I learnt you went behind my back ti do so. Why? So you can finally get back at me for your whore of a mother.”

That’s it! I lurched at him. Hitting him hard on his face.

“You fucking ingrate.” I reached to hit him again. But I was tossed with a massive force. Causing my back to hit the wall.

Angry, I came back, lurching at him. He dodged a few of my hits. Took some. And landed me some of his hits.

It was a tug of war indeed. However, I was angrier and younger. So, I soon overpowered him. I threw him to the wall countless times.

Glasses and fragile items broke due to our fights, including wooden furniture.

He was now lying bloodied on the floor and filled with short breaths.

However, I kept hitting him, and as I did. I remembered the times he hit my mother. The times he would Lock her up inside the cold-pantry till she was almost dead of the cold. Other times he would rape her till she could barely walk for days.

My mother was a beautiful woman. Yet I don’t remember her as one. Cause all the time I saw her face. It was always accessorised with a bruise.

I continuously hit him till he stopped responding. He had passed out, and I could still hear his ugly heart beating. And that annoyed me the more.

I would have made it stop beating. But I didn’t wish to attract more trouble to myself.

The house was in a total mess. And it was evident that a nasty fight had taken place.

However, I didn’t care about it. However, the servants of my father did. They had gathered to witness the nasty fights.

None of them had dared to break into the fight. They knew it could cost them their lives.

They just stood at the corner of the room
Shivering in fear

My father didn’t have servants when my mother was alive cause he felt she should be able to handle all of the housework.
But he ensured he got servants for his new wife when he remarried. That annoyed me so much that I decided to run away from the house.

Adrien had felt compassion for me and had been the one to take me in as his own.

When I became the beta, Adrien became the alpha. I had ordered my father's new wife to be murdered.

It was successful. No one suspected it was me, as the murder was disguised in the form of an accident.

The only person who knew the absolute truth was Alec and my father.

My father didn’t do anything about it to me. At that time, he was proud of me for becoming the pack's beta. And he was trying to get me to vie for the alpha position.

So he quickly forgave me, killing his new wife. Alec didn’t, however.

He went on telling people that I had killed his mother.

My father had made it seem like Alec had run mad. So he had ordered that Alec be placed in a human mental asylum. And maybe spending time with insane people could make one insane.

As he, too, had become insane. Everyone in the pack knew of this. And they all avoided him like the outcast that he was.

It was why Alec hated me. I had ruined his life. And it was why he tried to get back at me by sleeping with Diane and deceiving her.

I took my father's car keys and phone and stormed out of the house angrily.

I entered his car and drove off to my apartment.

I wondered what happened with Diane. I had been too busy with my father to notice what happened to her.

The decision of the elder had also pardoned her. Maybe she had run off like she always loved to do.

Well, I would soon be catching her. First, I needed to contact this so-called Lunari. And find out what their deal is.

That was why I picked up my father’s phone. He didn’t have a passcode on it. So I could easily access it.
