Chapter 177

Adara pov:

I gazed at the stranger who had just saved us from certain capture. Vill's eyes narrowed, her hand on the hilt of her sword. "Wait, I know her," Vill said, her voice laced with distrust. "She's Emma, the one who tried to kill me before."

My eyes locked onto Emma, her face etched with a mix of determination and desperation. I knew Vill had every reason to doubt her, but something in Emma's eyes made me hesitate.

"Vill, I know it's hard to trust her, but she's our only hope," I said, my voice firm but gentle. "We need her help to get out of this situation."

Vill's gaze flicked to me, her expression skeptical. But I could see the faintest glimmer of understanding in her eyes. She knew I wouldn't trust Emma lightly.

Emma took a step forward, her hands spread wide. "Adara, please. I know I've failed you before, but I swear on my life to protect you now. I'll do everything in my power to keep you safe."

I searched her eyes, looking for any sign of deception. But all I saw was sincerity and desperation. I took a deep breath and made my decision.

"Alright, Emma. I trust you.”

I followed Emma, my eyes fixed on her back as Vill walked beside me, her hand still on the hilt of her sword. We had decided to trust Emma, but Vill's skepticism was still palpable.

As we walked, Emma told us her story. "I'm the one who unsealed Malachi's power," she said, her voice heavy with regret. "I was blinded by my own ambition and I didn't realize what I was unleashing. But now I see the error of my ways and I need to make it right."

Vill's gaze narrowed, her eyes searching Emma's face. And then, something unexpected happened. Vill's expression softened, her hand dropping from her sword.

"I believe you," Vill said, her voice firm. "I know what it's like to make mistakes, to be blinded by our own flaws. But it takes courage to own up to them and try to fix them."

I nodded in agreement, my trust in Emma solidifying. "We need to work together if we want to defeat Malachi and restore balance to our lands."

Emma's eyes filled with determination. "I'll do everything in my power to help you, Adara. I'll make it right, I promise.”

I listened intently as Emma continued, her words revealing a deeper understanding of our quest. "I know why you're here," she said, her eyes locked on mine. "You're searching for the Sword of Truth, the only weapon capable of defeating Malachi's darkness."

Vill's eyes widened, her gaze flicking to me and then back to Emma. "How did you know?" she asked, her voice laced with a mix of surprise and curiosity.

Emma's expression turned solemn. "I've been searching for a way to undo the damage I've done. And I discovered that the Sword of Truth is the key to defeating Malachi. Follow me."

She led us through the winding tunnels, her footsteps echoing off the cold stone walls. Finally, we arrived at a large chamber, the air thick with an otherworldly energy. And there, in the center of the room, stood a pedestal, the Sword of Truth gleaming with a light that seemed almost divine.

My heart raced as I approached the sword, its power calling to me. I could feel its truth-seeking energy, its ability to vanquish darkness and deception. With this sword, we might actually stand a chance against Malachi's evil.

Emma continued,I listened in awe. Emma revealed more secrets about the Sword of Truth. "This sword holds secrets and powers beyond your imagination," she said, her eyes gleaming with a knowing light. "Even if Malachi were to obtain it, he wouldn't be able to wield its power. And neither can you, Adara."

I felt a pang of disappointment, but Emma's next words left me stunned. "Only a king's heart can unlock the sword's true potential. And that king is Ashir."

Vill's eyes widened in surprise, and I felt my mind reeling with the implications. Ashir, the one who had betrayed me, the one I had sworn to defeat? How could he be the only one capable of wielding the Sword of Truth?

Emma's expression turned serious. "I know it's hard to accept, Adara. But fate has a way of surprising us. Ashir's heart holds the key to unlocking the sword's power. And with it, he may be the only one who can save our lands from Malachi's darkness.”

 Emma continue, she secremed “Hurry"

We noticed a footsteps approaching.

"You must go now, take the sword to Ashir. He's the only one who can use it." But our escape was foiled by the sound of approaching soldiers and Malachi's enraged screams.

Emma shouted for us to go, but it was too late. We were surrounded. Vill and I exchanged a desperate glance, knowing we had to think fast. We realized that our only hope was to combine our powers and attempt to disappear from the castle. But we knew it would take precious time.

Emma stepped forward, her eyes blazing with determination. "I'll hold them off with my magic. Go, Adara, Vill! Now!"

Vill and I joined hands, focusing our energies. The air around us began to shimmer as we merged our powers. But Malachi's soldiers were closing in fast. We knew we had to act faster.

With a final surge of energy, we vanished from the castle, reappearing in the tunnel just in time. We collapsed against the wall, panting, our hearts racing. We had made it out alive, but we knew Malachi's wrath would be relentless. We had to keep moving, and fast.

Malachi POV

The voice of alrm wake me and I couldn't hold back. I track the location of the intruder down to a hidden ancient chamber. I got hooked as I got to the chamber with magic. My soldiers couldn't break in. I ordered them to stop and I try out using my magi.  I snarled in rage as I broke through Emma's pitiful spell. I stormed into the chamber, my soldiers at my heels. But my triumph was short-lived. The room was empty, Adara and Vill nowhere to be found.

I let out a deafening roar, my anger and frustration boiling over. "No! No! NOOO!" I slammed my fist into the wall, the stone cracking under my fury.

My soldiers cowered, fearful of my wrath. "Search the castle!" I bellowed. "Find them! Bring them to me!"

But deep down, I knew it was too late. Adara had escaped, and with her, the Sword of Truth. My plans were unraveling, my power slipping through my fingers like sand.

I would not rest until I had Adara in my grasp, until I had claimed the sword and crushed all opposition. My rage and determination burned hotter than ever, fueling my unyielding pursuit of dominance.

I grasped Emma with an unyielding grip, my fingers digging deep into her fragile skin. She struggled and squirmed, but I held her fast, my eyes blazing with fury.

"You foolish woman," I sneered, my voice dripping with malice. "You thought you could defy me? Betray me?"

Emma's eyes flashed with defiance, even in the face of death. "You...you'll never win," she gasped, her voice weak but determined. "Ashir...Adara...they'll defeat you...kill you..."

I laughed, the sound cold and mirthless. "Empty curses, Emma. You have no power here."

But Emma's eyes locked onto mine, her gaze burning with a fierce intensity. "I curse you, Malachi...May your own darkness consume you...May Ashir and Adara be the ones to end your reign of terror..."

Her words faltered, her body weakening. I held her tight, my grip unyielding, until her last breath left her lips. And with it, her curse.

I tossed Emma's lifeless body aside, my mind already focused on the next step in my pursuit of power. I approached the spot where Adara and Vill had disappeared, my eyes fixed on the ground. I knelt down, my hand reaching out to touch the earth.

As my skin made contact with the ground, I felt a sudden jolt of energy. I could sense the residual magic from Adara and Vill's escape. I brought my hand to my mouth, tasting the faint trace of their presence.

My eyes lit up with excitement. I had them now. I could track them down, follow them to their hiding place. And with my millions of soldiers at my command, I would crush them once and for all.

"Follow me!" I bellowed, my voice echoing through the castle halls. "We will show no mercy! We will destroy all who dare oppose us!"

My soldiers roared in response, their footsteps thundering as they fell in line behind me. Together, we would hunt down Adara and Vill, and I would finally claim the Sword of Truth as my own. Nothing would stop me now. Nothing would stand in my way.
