Chapter 68 The Face Of A Killer
Chapter 68
Rosa's POV
“My Luna. Do you want it hot or cold?” The maid's voice penetrated through the door like a sharp whisper through the cold night.
I would have mimicked Astra's voice. But how am I too sure that the maid would not detect? How am I too sure it would perfectly rhyme?
I stood there under the warm shower, my eyes fixed on Astra's lifeless body as her battered face opened up and stared into nothing.
I waited a bit. Then I counted the maid footsteps, Then I heard the sudden disappearance of the maid footsteps from the door down the hallway.
I heaved partially.
I couldn't open the door and walk out like before. What if the maid was still nearby? What if someone had been outside waiting to speak with Astra or had some kind of discussion with her before I stepped in.
If they saw me carrying a tray with nothing, wouldn't that raise an eyebrow?
Getting out through the door is not an option.
Then I spun around looking for another option, my chest rose and fell fast. Though the room was dark, the light from the moon still penetrated through the window pane. It created a path across the floor.
My eyes followed the path until something caught my attention. I saw a space , something like a loop hole between the burglary bar and the window frame. I squeezed myself through it like a baby to be rescued from a house that had caught fire.
Then I sucked my breath in, pushed one shoulder through the gap, the metal scraped my skin sending sharp pain down my spine.
My ribs pushed against the frame, for I thought I would get stuck like a panicked rat.
Thankfully, the house was a bungalow, only the foundation of the building was a few inches raised from the ground. I jumped . My tired feet landed on a lush green field which surrounded the house. Which brushed against my legs.
My toes ached, my knees almost denied me.
I let out a deep breath, letting my eyes close for a moment. Just for a moment of peace, to indicate at least one of my enemies is dead.
I reminded myself that it was time to go back home.
I have not finished the thought when I heard…
Wooof! Wooof! Wooof!
Sharp. Fierce. Close.
Guard dogs?
They were huge black, towering with metal collars. Specifically trained to tear intruders apart. Their paws hit the ground, as they chased me. My footsteps slap ferociously against the lush green grass. My heart thumped behind my chest.
Their determined paws landed on the grass, as they pursued me, I could hear their growl, their smell, ready to tear me into pieces.
I ran towards a tree not too tall, not too short, slid down over a small hill and squeezed through a broken wooden fence. The nails tore open part of my shirt. My knees ache, dirt filled my fingernails.
Then I finally found myself on the same street I passed through while heading to Astra's mansion.
I had not taken up to two steps when I heard my Luna …
I didn't turn. I didn't blink. I didn't respond. My head faced the front.
I looked ahead pretending as if I didn't hear anything or the voice was not for me. Afterall, there may be a lot of Luna's hanging around here.
I paced my legs a bit. The determined foot steps run after me until it catches up with me.
“Yes I can't be wrink,” that was the voice that erupted from the young she-wolf , “my instinct can't lie to me, it's Luna Rosa from stormfang pack.”
Luna Rosa?
On hearing that name, head turned, a few omegas paused along the street and stared. Confusion painted on their faces.
I swallowed hard. The earth shook beneath my feet, like a tremor was about to take place.
I didn't see her face at first instance, her features looked blurry, maybe due to the prolonged hours I have spent in the dark at Astra's room.
Then she stepped forward.
It was Ravenna, Or madam Ravenna, as we popularly call her.
Oh! F…k..” I whispered, my eyes blinked repeatedly, clutching my fingers into my palm.
Is this not the same madam Ravenna I sent off with her two loyalists after they were caught stealing my jewelry.
My breath almost caught…
“What have you come here to do?” Madam Ravenna asked with a lot of curiosity.
As if that was not enough, she dragged her eyes like a pregnant snail, slowly from my hair, to my face, to the maids uniform, in which one part of its shoulder had torn.
My feet were bare, with no shoes, no make up, my sweaty hair clung to my face.
My appearance was a far cry from a Luna emanating from a prominent pack like the Stormfang pack.
If not because a lot of eyes were on us, and she had called my name as a prominent personality from the Stormfang pack. I would have brought my guns and shot her in the head immediately.
I didn't respond, I moved away fast in front of her. She stood there looking at me mysteriously, I didn't look back. I knew she was looking at my back.
It felt like I should develop wings or possess a magic power and disappear into thin air but I couldn't. I am not Alpha Vexhood, nor do I have any spiritual qualities close to his.
That was when I knew that I had really messed up killing Astra was nothing but an open secret.
How do I explain that my former maids who I had dismissed without remuneration for stealing my things are now working for Astra, the Luna I just killed now?
Remember, she is not alone, what about her two loyalists, Talia and …
Should I call them up and compensate them to keep quiet or should I treat them to dinner the way I did to Astra.
